“GET UP!!” came a loud scream and bang from the sixth year Ravenclaw girls’ door. “I want to see Mimi Weasley and Alria Smithons out here in their quidditch robes in five minutes!” It was the delightful voice of Brittany, the Co-Captain for the Ravenclaw quidditch team, at 4am on thursday morning.
“I am going to kill someone.” Jasmine muttered, looking at the clock.
“We better get up.” Alria yawned, getting out of bed.
“No!” Mimi whined, burying herself
Groaning, Mimi and Alria got into their robes quickly and headed to the pitch. In the attempt to keep the knowledge that Alria, the American as she was being called, a secret, they were training at odd hours, and with both the Ravenclaw and Gryffendor teams booking extra time, it was getting harder than ever three days until the match.
Mimi and Alria arrived, falling asleep on each other, later than everyone else. The Twins looked just as tired, but the Bones cousins were on the verge of having a spaz attack. They were both wide awake and were going over some last minute things that no one else paid attention too. Even Kevin, who usually focused pretty well, was having a hard time focusing on everything. They all, reluctantly, stood up and preceded to go out to the pitch when the two Bones were finished with their talking.
“Up in the air! Brittany, you know what to do with the snitch. Practice your speed and dives, we need you to keep up with Potter.” Robert said, and Brittany went in the air to practice. He turned to the rest of the team. “Mimi, Kevin, and I will be practicing against Alria at the posts. Nathan, your specialty is protecting, so you’ll be attacking us with bludgers and Ethan will defend. Let’s go!” They all shot up into the air.
By nine-thirty they had finished in higher spirits than they started, sure they would win their match against Gryffindor. They quickly changed and headed to the great hall. They arrived to see the Gryffindor team start leaving to go to the pitch. The rest of the team moved so that Alria was just out of sight. They went into the great hall to have Lilly join them at the Ravenclaw table.
“Hey,” Lily said after planting a small peck on Robert’s cheek. “It’s a Saturday and I feel like doing something.”
“Well,” Alria responded, “I haven’t had a chance to Skateboard in ages, I thought I might today.”
“What’s Skateboarding?” Nathan asked. Alria looked around to see most of them looking confused. It was Kevin, though, who spoke up.
“It’s a Muggle sport.” He said. “We do it a lot in Canada, and I hear Americans do, too.”
“Yep, do you use flying skateboards, or muggle kind?” Alria asked, excited to have someone know what she was talking about.
“Both.” He replied.
“Cool, I have a few skateboards with me, you want to go? It will release stress.”
“Definitely!” The rest of the team looked confused, but they all ate quickly and headed up to the Ravenclaw common room.
“Hey Kevin, do you have one with you?” Alria asked him as they entered the common room with a nervous looking Lilly.
“Yah, a muggle and a magical.”
“Cool, same. How about we all get changed and meet back here in ten minutes? We can teach these Brits how to have fun!” She then took Lily’s arm and headed up the girl’s stair case. “Here, through this on!” she said, throwing some clothes at her. They all got dressed and Alria started rummaging through her trunk and pulled out two board things. Walking back to the common room, they found Kevin explaining the board to the guys.
“Let’s go.” He said, and they quickly headed outside. They quickly got outside and headed toward the quidditch pitch.
“You can teach!” Alria told him. “I need a ride.” She got on the skateboard that was blue, put it on the floor, stepped on it, and hovered in the air. She suddenly flew in the air and started flying like she was on a broom, but standing up. She started doing tricks and going higher in the air. Everyone watched her for a moment before trying to learn from Kevin what to do, so they didn’t notice her flying a bit too close to the quidditch pitch.
“Watch out!” was the last thing she heard when something collided with her head. She woke up to find herself surrounded by the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor quidditch team plus Lily.
“She’d awake.” Someone called to the nurse.
“Oh, Alria, I’m so sorry.” Said a fourth-year boy. “I didn’t see you, I was aiming for Hugo.”
“Um…that’s fine…” she said. “I’m sorry, who are you?”
“I’m Collin, Colin Creevy.” He said, looking uncomfortable. “One of the beaters.”
“Oh.” She simply replied. “How long was I out?”
“Only an hour.” Nathan said. She smiled at him and gave him a quick kiss before the nurse shooed everyone off. She had to stay the night, but turned up in the morning for breakfast in the great hall.
“Hey.” They all said to her. Lily and Hugo saw her across the hall and went to say hi.
“Hey Alria, how are you feeling?” Hugo asked. “Colin’s been really worried.”
“I’m fine.” Alria assured them. “Really. I should have been more aware of where I was.”
“Glad you’re ok mate.” Lily said hugging her.
“Hey, want to take a walk?” Nathan asked Alria after they had finished eating.
“Sure.” Alria grinned. The two got up hand in hand and walked around the grounds since it was still a very pretty day.
“You look beautiful by the way.” Nathan said, putting his arm around her and holding her closer.
“Thanks.” Alria blushed. “You’re not too bad yourself.” Nathan laughed at that and gave him a small kiss.
“Come on, let’s go for a swim.” Nathan said suddenly, pulling her toward the lake.
“What?” Alria laughed in delight. “But I don’t have a swim suit.
“Well, we don’t need those.” Nathan smirked and Alria hit him on the shoulder. “Fine, Vario Schema”
“Wow, you’re pretty good at transfiguration.” Alria said as their clothes suddenly changed to swim suits.
“Yep.” Yep he grinned. Alria looked down to see herself in a modest tank-ini and smiled. “Hey, I’m not a total pig.” Nathan laughed.
“Thanks, it really means a lot.” She said, giving him a rewarding kiss. “Race you!” She said, running into the lake.
“No fair!” Nathan said, racing after her. They splashed in the water, just having fun, kissing and laughing as the sun set.
The weekend ended too quickly and Alria was rushing to Transfiguration, trying not to be late.
“Hey James!” She said, putting her stuff down next to him.
“Hey Alria.” He grinned. “Ready for class?”
“Oh, yeah.” Alria cheered sarcastically. It had become a bit of an inside joke for them, since Alria really was dreadful at the class. Nathan tutored her outside of class, when they weren’t making out, but since James was her partner in the class, he’d become a friendly ally.
“Ok, that’s some talent.” James laughed as the parrot they were supposed to be turning into a pig started to do a dance.”
“Yeah, I got a parrot to Dougie.” Alria moaned. “The spell reminded me of the song and I guess that affected it.”
“Well, you are better at charms.” James continued to laugh as the parrot continued to dance. “Dougienestio.” James muttered as the professor walked by. The dancing parrot turned into a pig and the professor simply moved along not noticing the previous problem.
“Thanks.” Alria muttered.
“Hey cheer up.” James said. “We have DADA next, and you’re amazing at that class.”
“True.” Alria said with a smirk. At the end of class, Nathan grabbed her to walk down to lunch as James chatted up some Hufflepuff 6th year. The rest of the week went by normally, Alria making some crazy mistake in Transfiguration that James fixed, did fine in her other classes, and got wiped out by quidditch practiced still being held at odd hours. But finally, the week was done and the Hogsmead trip was finally here.
“Hey, we go this way!” Nathan said, leading Alria to the village. He showed her all around the village, and Alria was in love with it as it reminded her of the Salem Marketplace. She loved Honeydukes best, along with the Weasley’s Wizard Weezes shop. The couple saw a large crowd gathered at a large pub and Nathan explained that was where Lily’s mom was doing a press conference about her new book. They walked by and Alria caught a glance of a pretty witch at a table, but she went with her date arm-in-arm down the path towards the end of the village to a smaller pub. When they got there, the rest of the lot was waiting for them.
“So, how’d you like Hogsmead?” Lily asked, ignoring the glare Hugo was giving her for being on a date with Robert.
“I’ts been great!” She said, rewarding Nathan a small kiss for being such a lovely date.
They had a small bit to eat, and then headed toward the shrieking shack. They had a lovely time and were in high spirits when they got back.
“I had a great time.” Alria told Nathan, right before she went to bed.
“Hey, I’ve been meaning to ask you…” Nathan said. “I know you’ll only be here for a short while, but for the mean time, will you be my girlfriend?” Alria was speechless.
“I’m really sorry Nathan,” Alria said, “But I don’t know. These past two weeks have been fun, but I need to think about it.”
“That’s fine.” Nathan said, a little deflated. “I understand. See you at quidditch practice.”
“Night.” Alria said, giving him one last kiss to show she did care about him.
A/N: I know, I'm a horrid author who doesn't update nearly enough. Well, this was a bit of fluff just to set the mood, the plot starts to happen in the next chapter. Keep in mind this whole story is mindless fluff. Check out my other stories if you like drama, action, adventure, and all around better stories. I wrote this when I was 13 but I finally am editing it slightly, trust me it's been a while, so yeah.
And yes, I did guess that James and Lily would be the kids! I just had to edit other names in there XD.
