It seems that last night, Ron Weasly, one third of the golden trio, was spotted with another woman other than his betrothed. The unidentified woman, who is believed to be either Cassie Hilknan, Jasmine Tice or Ingrid Methrop. He was out at the Leaky Cauldron, supposedly after he and his longtime fiancé Hermione Granger had an argument.
When we asked for a comment, all he said was "I'm here for a night out with my friends." Although no 'friends' were spotted, we did notice that he looked quite happy without Ms. Granger. One important question remains, will the lovebirds tie the knot tomorrow? (story continued on page 4)
Hermione slammed the Prophet down on her white marble kitchen bench. She and Ron had argued last night, so bad infact that he said he was going to go over to Harry's flat to let everything cool off, only resulting in another fight.
Without hesitation, she apparated over to Harry's flat and went straight to the guest bedroom that she knew Ron slept in when they hadn't moved in together. She knew that Ron kept some old clothes that he hated in there because she had advised Ron to put them there.
She stormed in without knocking and saw a red-headed figure clutching the waist of a small bleached blonde haired girl. Her quite large chest was exposed from the white sheets that were on the bed.
"RON" Hermione screeched, waking up Ron, the girl, and Harry. "WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING. YOU DO REALISE THAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING MARRIED-"
"What do you mean we were supposed to be getting married? We still are!" Ron exclaimed.
"I CANT GET MARRIED TO YOU KNOWING THAT AFTER EVERY FIGHT WE HAVE, YOU'RE GOING TO GO TO A BAR AND PICK UP SOME SLEAZY WOMAN, AND THEN BRING HER BACK TO HARRY'S PLACE"
A look of guilt was etched upon his blushing, freckly face. He turned to Harry who had slipped in unnoticed by either of them. He seemed to be having a silent conversation with Harry as he thought of what to say next.
Tears were threatening to spill from Hermione's eyes as she glared at Ron and the slut in his bed. He slowly turned to the girl that was naked next to him. He didn't have a clue on who she was.
"Please Hermione, please. You don't mean that. We'll get married tomorrow just as planned." he begged.
"Ronald Weasley, there is no way on earth that I'm going to marry you after what you did last night" she said. A single lone tear ran down her cheek.
Harry, who had left the couple, or ex-couple, to fight, slid his tone arm around Hermione's waist and pulled her into the kitchen. He grabbed two mugs and scoured the fridge for anything that would be edible for breakfast. He turned the kettle on and put a tea-bag in each mug. For some reason, his mind wandered back to his seventh year at Hogwarts.
Ron and Hermione were facing each other in the common room again for the third time this week. Ron's face was inches from Hermione's as they shouted at each other.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING RON? DO YOU KNOW JUST HOW MUCH IT HURTS TO SEE YOU TOUCH AND FLIRT WITH OTHER GIRLS WHEN WE ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP? BUT KISSING ANOTHER GIRL WAS OUT OF THE QUESTION ALL TOGETHER!"
"I DIDN'T WANT TO OK? THE GIRL JUST LUNGED AT ME AND WHO WAS I TO REFUSE A GOOD SNOG EH? MAYBE WE SHOULDN'T BE TOGETHER ANYMORE. I JUST CAN'T HANDLE YOUR UPTIGHTNESS ALL THE TIME. IT'S REALLY GETTING ANNYOING"
"Fine Ron" she said "We won't be together anymore if that's what you want"
Tears flowed down her face as she ran out of the common room. Harry, who was standing in the portrait hole, ran after her. He found the sobbing girl in an empty classroom not far from where she ran from. Harry slid into the classroom and put his arm around Hermione.
"Hermione, shh, it's ok. Ron'll come to his senses and you'll be together again" Harry told her, even though it pained him terribly. It was when they we fighting that he realised that he had strong feelings for her, and not in a platonic way.
Harry was also reminded of all the other times that he had to comfort her from her on/off relationship with Ron.
He handed Hermione the mug and she took a tentative sip. He saw her slump over on the table and shake with sobs.
"We were going to get married Harry!" she exclaimed "I loved him, and he threw away all we has together. But no I've realised that I never loved him. It was the fact that everyone wanted us together that I think made us come together. We were forced. I think that it was more so a marriage of convenience in some way. We'd both be getting the weight of people trying to get us in a relationship and people trying to be in a relationship with us off us."
"Oh Mione" Harry sighed. He knew that it wouldn't be a very good time to try to make a move on her in the emotional state that she was in.
She glanced up at Harry and noticed something in his emerald eyes that she had never seen before. Love.
She continued to stare into his eyes and she felt a spark of electricity shoot through her as he rubbed her back soothingly. His hands moved away from her back and she instantly lost the warmth radiating from his palms.
Her cheeks ignited in heat as she held eye contact with Harry. He broke eye contact as he reminded himself that he was to not make a move on her. Subconsciously he moved his head forwards as she did. Their lips were only centimeters apart when Ron burst into the room.
"HERMIONE!" Ron exclaimed, "WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING TRYING TO KISS HARRY?"
"RONALD, I CAN DO WHAT EVER I WANT WITHOUT YOU NOW, BECAUSE YOU THREW IT ALL AWAY!" she bellowed back.
Ron stormed out of the room, leaving behind a fuming Hermione and a guilty Harry. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat as he tried to keep his eyes off the hot, fired up brunette. He shot up quickly making an excuse to go to the bathroom and rushed out.
Hermione sat there confused, hurt and angry. No doubt that when Harry and herself had almost kissed, there was definitely a spark between them that was much bigger than the one that was between her and Ron. She felt something else rise inside her, almost like an animal, slowly creeping up on her.
I can't like Harry, she told herself, I only think of him as a friend and nothing more. But the spark, the electricity that sent everything burning between them was too big to deny, she had feelings for Harry. But it's too soon! Ronald and I only broke it off this morning! She thought, trying to convince herself that she in no way was attracted to Harry.
A constant battle raged inside her head for a few minutes before she came to terms with what she had thought. She loved Harry. There was no denying it. But there were problems with loving him - the press, the Weasleys, the entire wizarding community!
Harry came in not long after she admitted her feelings to herself for the raven-haired boy. He stumbled in the kitchen and briefly saw the on-going battle in her head. It was almost exactly the same as the one he was having, between trying to take things further with her or trying to keep their relationship purely platonic.
He slowly sat down next to her and lifted her chin with his finger. "Hermione, you can't be at war with yourself. If you feel something, do something"
Ironically, Harry wasn't following his own advice, in fact he never intended to do anything with her. He would've been happy to see her happy, even if that meant him being old and watching her and her husband's children. He wanted her happy, even if it wasn't with him.
The message slowly sunk and and so that's what she just did. She lent in and kissed him full on the lips much to her and Harry's surprise.
He started to kiss her back with all the love that he knew he felt for the know-it-all woman. His tongue slid over her bottom lip begging for entry. They stayed kissing for almost ten minutes until they were gasping for air.
Harry touched his forehead to Hermione's. "So does this mean we're going out now?" He questioned.
"If that's what you want Harry, cause I sure do"
Harry nodded in agreement as he locked Hermione's eyes with his. "We should keep this secret for a while don't you think?"
"Never knew you to be one for such a smart idea Harry" she joked.
"Well you thought wrong didn't you?"
