*Substance use/ abuse warning for this chapter*
“PRONGS!!! GET YOUR SORRY ARSE OUT HERE BEFORE I BLOW DOWN THIS DOOR!!!!” Sirius bellows from the other side of the portrait hole.
“You know what Pads, I don’t think I will. I would very much like to see you try to blow down the door.” James says with a smirk on his face that can be heard through the door.
“James, please open the door. We are here too and we just wanna see Lily.” Alice says with a pleading tone.
“Alright. But only because you asked so nicely.” James says opening the door a few moments after Alice asked. The girls marched right up to Lily’s room, where they found her dancing around like a fool. She didn’t notice they were there until Mary changed it to a punk rock song and see what Lily’s reaction would be. The girls laughed at there friend who was terribly confused why her song had changed.
“Oh, ha, ha, ha. You guys are hysterical.” Lily said with sarcasm dripping off her lip.
“Easy there sarcastic,” Mary started. “Whats with the party for one? If it were one of the Marauders, you would never hear the end of this.”
“Well I suppose your right, but I don’t know why, I’m just in a really happy mood, so I danced.” Lily stated.
“Okay? Well onto another topic, I brought...” Alice said, waiting for a drum roll. “NAIL POLISH!!!!!!”
“EEEEEEK!!!!” said Mary and Lily simultaneously. Nail polish was a cool Muggle invention that colors your nails, depending on what you want. ‘The only thing muggles can do.’ in Mary’s words. Once they were done with their nails, the girls changed into there pajamas. As they were finishing, they heard a knock on the door. Once every one was decent Lily answered it to find James.
“Hey...uh...um...I...” James started
“”What is it Ja-” Lily began then realizing that he was staring at what she was wearing. A spaghetti-strap tank top, with short shorts, her whole outfit was very revealing. She felt a blush flash across her face but paid no reason to it.
“Oh yea, okay well the Marauders and I, noticed how I fixed that for you flower? We were wondering if you lovely ladies would be interested to play a game of truth or dare with us?” James said waving to the giggling girls that stood behind Lily. He was the more charming of the Marauders, so it was hard for anyone to say no to him. Even the professors were all over him.
“Oh, yea sure, if it’s okay with you girls,” Lily said.
“YES!!” Alice and Mary exclaimed.
“Okay lets go!” James said.

“Alright so here is how Marauder truth or dare works. We all take and Unbreakable Vow to swear that we will answer all questions truthfully, and do all dares given. Now of course since Moony here always disagrees to these terms, he shall be the one to preform the spell. Any questions? No? Alrighty then Moony, you know what to do!” Sirius said. All the Marauders know the true reason why Remus couldn’t play this game. What they call his ‘furry little problem’ couldn’t be known. But he also did not agree to anything that Sirius said before. Everyone put their hands in the middle of the circle, and Remus started the spell.
“Do you Mary Macdonald, Alice McKenzie, Lily Evans, James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew swear to always tell the truth when asked a question in this game of truth or dare?” Remus began.
“We do.” They all said together. A shot of illuminated string shot from Remus’s
“And do you Mary Macdonald, Alice McKenzie, Lily Evans, James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew swear to always do all dares given?”
“We do.” They all said together again, James and Sirius with to much happiness in their tones for any ones good. Another sting shot out of Remus’s wand.
“Then let the games begin!” Remus said and made fireworks and confetti shoot out his wand. “Sirius, you start.”
“OKAY! Let’s see, McKenzie. Truth or dare?” Sirius said.
“Truth I guess.” Alice said with cowardice in her tone.
“Way to make things interesting,” Sirius said with sarcasm. “Who do you fancy?”
A blush flashed across her face. “Frank...” Alice said slowly.
“Longbottom? Well this outta make you feel better, I think he fancies you too.” Sirius said cooly.
“WHAT? Really?!” Alice said jumping to her feet.
“Well he talks about you about as much as Prongs here talks about Lily.” Sirius said. Both Lily and James blushed at that remark, while the rest of the group laughed. “Anyway, McKenzie your turn.”
“Alight, James. Truth or dare?”
“Truth, there’s really nothing that you guys don’t know about me, I’m a very open person.” James said, taking the safer road for once.
“How long have you fancied Lily?” Alice asked with a smirk on her face. Lily blush and suddenly became very interested with the carpet she was sitting on. James then mumbled something. “What did you say James?” Alice asked. James mumbled something again, a little louder this time. “I didn’t quite catch that, come again?” Alice said with a wide smile on her face.
“THIRD YEAR OKAY?!” James shouted. He and Lily were blushing so hard that their faces were redder then Lily’s hair. Everyone was laughing their heads off and wouldn’t stop. Lily caught stuff like ‘That’s 3 years!’ and ‘Wow” and ‘That’s so sweet!’, when Alice decided to speak again.
“Okay! Your turn.”
“Umm Sirius. Dare? Okay. I dare you to run around the Gryffindor common room in your boxers screaming ‘I love my body, and no body is good enough for it!’” James said smugly.
“Oh I thought it was going to be something challenging like booty bumping Frederico again. Alright I need a witness. Macdonald come on!”
“Okay? But who’s Frederico?” Mary asked hesitantly.
“Oh just the giant squid in the Black Lake, now lets go.” Sirius said as it was the most obvious thing in the world. The last thing they heard before the door close was ‘Who names a giant squid Frederico, out of all names?’
“Alright what shall we do while we wait?” Rems asked.
“I think Mary has some Fire whiskey in Lily’s room. Shall I fetch it?” Alice suggested. Everyone nodded in agreement and the room was quiet once more.
“So, 4 years, huh James?” Peter said still hung up over James’ outburst.
“Shut up Wormy.” James said as he threw a pillow at Peter which knocked him over, and Lily giggled. Did I just giggle? What is wrong with me? LILY EVANS DOES NOT GIGGLE! Lily thought just as Alice came down the stairs with the bottle and some glasses.
“WE”RE BACK!!” Sirius says coming through the door.
“How’d it go? And How’d you get in?” Asked James.
“Well my dearest Prongsie, if I must confess it went swimmingly. I scared the goo out of some first years and scarred the rest of the house.” Sirius said with pride, posing with his head held high and hands on hips.
“It was really funny. Sirius you have a really fit body did I tell you?” Mary said.
“Yea Quidditch has its perks. Oh Fire Whiskey! someone knew I was coming! Okay back to the game. Lily, Truth or dare?” Sirius said while pouring himself a big glass of the drink.
“Truth.” Please have nothing to do with James, PLEASE have nothing to do with James!
“Do you fancy Jamesy over here?” Sirius said while James glared at him. Lily’s first reaction would be no, never. But what came out instead was “Yes.”
Stupid Lily. You could never like him. NEVER
Well never say never.
But that was the truth. That’s all that could be said.
“WHAT?” was Peter’s reaction. Everyone else said things like ‘Finally’ or “I knew it’. James however was staring at Lily with his mouth hanging open, and Lily was blushing furiously.
“Hey Prongs hope you don’t plan on inviting spiders to nest in your mouth. No?” Sirius said not at all surprised
“I..I...I...” James started.
“I need to go.” Lily said before James could finish. And she scurried up to her room and fell face first into her bed. There was no more denying it. Lily likes James, and everybody knows it.
