I stood on the Quidditch Pitch with Black, shaking. Not that I was scared, I wasn't scared at all.

My dad was here.

My dad, who hadn't replied to any of my owls in over three years.

Black squeezed my hand. "Cheer up, Blue, it's only a laugh."

"Not anymore it's not," I murmered, pointing towards a large group of people who were fawning over one man.

"Wait - whoah! Isn't that -"

"Fabian Prewett, yes."

"And isn't he-"

"My dad, yes he is."

"And doesn't he-"

"Manage the Tornado's and is also their coach. Yes."

"And haven't you-"

"Not spoken to him since before first-year, that is correct."

"Oh," he murmered.

"Yep. But like you said, this is just a laugh," I grimaced. "Looks like he's in trouble."

"Shouldn't we-"

"Help him? No."

"Okay. He's coming over here with the captain, Angus Wood."

"I know who the captain is, Black," I smirked.

"Right guys!" Angus boomed. "Fabian Prewett would like to say a few words."

"Hello! As you may know, I am Fabian Prewett. I'm going to be assisting young Angus here select the team after he sent me a very convincing owl. So can I have Seekers to the far left hand side," he told us. James nodded in our direction and walked to where the Seekers were going. "And the Chasers next to them," my dad said. Remus and Peter walked away with the Chasers. "And finally, the Beaters can stay here! We already have a Keeper, so they're not needed. I'll do the chasers first," he said, walking off with Angus.

"See, he's been getting his owls!" I frowned at Black. "You said maybe he wasn't!"

"I know, that's what I thought. Lets just watch Remus and Peter," he suggested tactfully.

We looked into the sky to see Peter wobbling about on his broom. He was terrible, bless him. Remus wasn't bad, he was quite quick, I guess. In a few short minutes it was over, and Remus and Peter flew back down and joined Angus to discover who made it on the team.

"I wonder if they got in," I thought aloud.

"We'll see in a minute, they're coming over now. Oh look - Peter's crying."

"Bad news for him then," I grimaced.

"What's up, Pete?" Black shouted.

"I - I didn't get i - in!" he wailed.

"Bad luck, mate," I told him before shouting; "What about you, Remus?" over the pitch.

Remus did the thumbs down and shook his head before running over to us.

"Didn't get in. I'm like the reserves reserve though," he grinned.

"Good one," Black smirked, having finally extracted Peter from himself.

"Well, looks like your dad's doing Beaters next. Good luck," Remus told us, shaking Blacks hand before smiling at me. "We'll be in the stands. Come on, Peter," he added, comforting Pettigrew.

"Okay guys! Let me just do a quick register to see who's here," my dad began. "Ashby, Raquelle."

"Here, sir," she giggled.

"Black, Sirius."

"Here," Black shouted, raising a hand.

This carried on until:

"Gibson, Ger-" he stopped dead, looking around. "Trudy. Gibson, Trudy."

"Here, sir," I grimaced.

When he finished the register he said; "Right get into pairs then we'll go into the air and test your abilities with Wood. Alright?"

All the girls immediately stepped towards Black. He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from them.

"You can go with them if you want, you know. I don't mind," I told him, blushing.

"I want to go with you," he said, also blushing. "Best friends, remember?"

"Forever," I told him. Apart from Potter. He obviously guessed I'd thought that because he pulled me into a hug.

"Blue, if I didn't think you were going to be a good mate I'd have left you there on the train that first day, alright?" he told me. I nodded as we hopped on our brooms and went into the air.

The feeling was incredible. It was like the first time you go on an upside-down rollercoaster and you feel all the air in your face. It was so exciting and the adrenilin was unimaginable. Me and Black worked together, hitting the Bludgers away whenever they came near us, shouting warnings at eachother. We even spotted Potter up in the air, they must have been trying out Seekers at the same time.

"RIGHT EVERYONE!" Angus yelled. "Down on the floor!" We flew down and gathered around him and my dad. "Can I just congratulate you all, you all played magnificently today. We have three great new chasers, Jayme Robins, Robin Brown and Niamh Bell. And now we can welcome to the team, a new fantastic Seeker, James Potter," he said in a very thick Scottish accent.

"Well done," I said to a red-faced James, clapping him on the back as he stepped forward.

"And now, we have two new Beaters, who I think will do the team justice. Trudy Gibson and Sirius Black." I grinned at Black as we stepped forward to stand next to James and the chasers.

"Well done team, now off you go, training starts friday at six! Don't forget!" Angus shouted. Remus ran over and smiled at me.

"Well done, Trudy," he murmered.

"Thanks," I smiled back.

Suddenly he pulled me into a hug. I blushed as I hugged him back before pulling away. I felt butterflies in my stomach...but...Remus? I couldn't like him that way, could I? I mean we were just friends.

"So..." he said nervously, smiling at me.

"OI! Get away from my daughter!" someone said, knocking Remus to the ground. It was my dad.

"What are you doing?" I yelled at him, picking Remus up and apologizing a million times.

"Him...you... just stay away from her," he growled at Remus.

"Since when has that been your choice," I said coolly. "Last time I checked I didn't know someone who had the privelige to hit a boy if I spoke to them."

"I'm your father, Trudy Gibson!"

"Well, maybe you should have acted like one when you got the chance."

"I - I have!" he insisted.

"When's the last time you owled me? When's the last time you spoke to me in person/ When's the last time you even cared about me?" I growled, my head burning. My hair had turned red, but I didn't care. "I'll tell you what, dad. Anything you say to me might actually matter one day if you tried hard enough-"

"Blue-" Black began.

"-You know, doing the odd dad things, popping in, sending cards and presents on my birthday and Christmas, writing sometime, keep promises, remember that Quidditch isn't the only bloody thing that matters!" I yelled tears streaming down my face. "You know what? I'm past caring now. I don't need you." I added, snarling. "And neither does Tallulah. You know why?"

"Blue you can stop now-" James tried to intervene.

"Because even though your famous and people know your name - that doesn't matter! Just because your famous doesn't mean we like you! It's not even cool anymore! You're not even cool anymore. I'll tell you what, dad. I. Hate. You. There, I said it and I'm done. You can go back to your bimbo girlfriends and go to the Caribbean or somewhere nice now. Because I don't ever want to hear from you again, understand?" I said coldly, and was about to turn away when I heard it.

"Miss Gibson? Follow me." Professor McGonagall was standing behind me.

"We tried to stop you," Black said.

"How long has she been there?" I whispered.

"The whole time, Trudy," Remus told me softly.

"Ouch."

"Miss Gibson? And Lupin, you come too. You stay here, Prewett. Professor Dumbledore will be wanting a word with you shortly," Professor McGonagall added coldly to my dad, who was stood there rooted to the spot, looking very pale.

Remus and I began to follow McGonagall through the corridors and into her office. "Please sit down," she told us. We did so.

"Lupin I believe you haven't had the pleasure of coming to my office."

"No, Professor."

"And Miss Gibson I believe you have been here many, many times, yes?"

"Yes, Professor."

"Are you both aware of why you are in my office now?"

"Yes, Professor," we said together. "But how did you know what was happening?" I added.

"Well Miss Gibson, your voice carries rather a long way. And when I lookeed out the window to discover where it was coming from I recognised you immediately. Your hair was the reddest red I have ever seen, and it still is, by the way. The third is after looking out the window, I remembered Quidditch Tryouts were taking place today and wanted to see who made the team. Care to enlighten me to who is?"

"Jayme Robins, Robin Brown and Niamh Bell are Chasers. Wood is still Keeper. James Potter is Seeker and Black and I are Beaters," I murmered.

"Congratulations," she smiled.

"Thanks."

"Anyway, as I was saying, please explain what happened on the Quidditch Pitch."

"Well," Remus began. "When Trudy got picked for the team, I congratulated her and then we hugged. Prewett saw and knocked me down and started yelling. Trudy wasn't very happy with him so it all kicked off on her side."

"Are we in trouble?" I blurted out.

"Always the first question asked, isn't it Miss Gibson?" McGonagall smirked. "But no, you are not in trouble for once. It will be your father who's in trouble."

"He's not my dad," I scowled.

"I know you feel that way right now-" she began.

"I've felt that way for almost four years," I responded irritably.

"Trudy, listen. You haven't had the best of lives, and I must admire your bravery, but can you please put any hatred aside for five minutes?" McGonagall asked exasperatedly.

"Fine," I grimaced.

"What did you mean about him having girlfriends earlier?"

"They're not even his girlfriends, they're these random girls he picks up and takes on holiday, then dumps them after he gets what he wants. He doesn't care about anyone but himself."

"You didn't feel that way when you first arrived at Hogwarts, though."

"I didn't know the truth then, did I," I snapped.

"Very well. I expect the Headmaster will wish to see you later. You may go."

Remus and I stood up and left the room, seeing McGonagall glance out of the window with a worried expression on her face.
