I looked at my new third-year timetable, groaning. Astronomy, Care Of Magical Creatures, Charms, Defence Against The Dark Arts, Divination, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions and Transfiguration. Why had I chosen to do the exact same as Black? Because he's your best friend. Apart from Potter your his. I tell myself. But, Divination? You don't have any other friends.
That, in some sense, was true. That Alice girl from my dorm was alright, but apart from that I only had Lily, Black, Potter, Remus and Pettigrew. The six Marauders.
"Do it! Do it!" they chanted. They as in my so-called 'friends'. The Marauders. Potter, Remus, Black and Pettigrew. Remus doesn't really seem like a last-name person, I reckon.
"Do I have to?" I asked helplessly, looking at Remus.
"Sorry, Trudy," he sighed. "As much as I want to say no, you have to do it in order to join the Marauders. You're the only girl along with Lily we've asked, so, you've got to."
"But Lily only had to skive off a lesson!" I protested.
"It may be only for us, but for her..." Black pointed out.
"Fine, I'll do it," I sighed.
I began to focus on what I looked like. First the hair, turning from a thick blue to a wispy grey. My nose getting larger, my lips thickening. My eyes turning as grey as my hair. A ring of fat grew around my neck. I shuddered.
"H - how do I look?" I asked, going red.
"Oh Merlin Blue - you - you look-" they began to howl with laughter.
"-Absolutely radiant," Remus finished quickly.
"Stunning," Potter added, smirking.
"Shut up, Potter. Now are we going or not, people are staring," I growled.
"Yes! Let's go!" Black exclaimed. "Come on, Lily will be waiting for us!"
We walked down to the dungeons, where Lily was waiting. She looked at us disapprovingly. I raised my eyebrows and she burst into laughter as Professor Slughorn walked out.
"Ah, in you come, Evans, Potter, Pettigrew, Lupin, Black, Gibs- do-you-think-this-is-funny-Gibson?" he growled.
"Er - yes?" I said, snorting with laughter.
"Well sir, you've got to admit, it kind of is," Black butted in. Professor Slughorn went even redder.
Before him stood a 5ft 2" girl version of him. Me.
"Right, both of you, Professor McGonagalls office, NOW!" he yelled. We fell out of the room, snorting with laughter. I metamorphmosed myself back to normal as we fell out the room.
"That was classy," Black said subtly, causing me to start laugh hysterically agan. I could feel my hair turning orange. Don't ask me why, it always did when I was hysterical about something.
"So...am I in?" I asked.
"Yes, Grey-Haired Gibson, Blue, you are in!" he yelled.
"Grey-Haired Gibson?" I snorted. He nodded and we pratically fell over laughing.
"Black, Gibson, what are you doing out of class?" Damn, McGonagall had heard us. "You're disturbing my first-year class. And why's your hair orange, Gibson?" she snapped at me.
"Uh - sorry Professor," I mumbled, changing my hair to a caramel blonde with a few blue streaks. Had to keep standards high around her. Make good impressions I thought.
"So, why are you here?"
"Er - Old Sluggy sent us," Black said.
"Old Sluggy?" she growled.
"Professor Slughorn," he prompted.
"And why did he do that, Gibson?" she asked.
"Er - well, Black, Potter, Pettigrew and Lupin er - dared me to - er metamorphmose into Professor Slughorn and er - I did - and he er noticed?" I squeaked, trembling.
Then we burst into an earthquake of laughter, unable to hear what McGonagall was saying.
"ENOUGH!" she yelled. "Silencio!"
We could no longer speak.
"The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizarding world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you, in one night, besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons!" she shouted.
I looked at Black, and Black looked at me. We both knew that if we hadn't had a Silencio Charm placed on us, we would both be trying to say that ten times faster.
"Now, you will have a weeks detention, twenty-five house points deducted each, and you can sit in my classes for the remainder of the day. In you come. Gibson, please take a seat next to Miss Black. Black, you can sit by Mr Boot. There is no need to talk," she growled.
I headed towards the seat I'd been directed to, and to my suprise the girl next to me looked startlingly like Bellatrix. They must be sisters. The girl turned to me.
"Hello, you must be Trudy Gibson? Sirius has told me a lot about you. Andromeda Black, by the way," she told me, and shook my hand.
"So you're Sirius's sister -?" I began to ask.
"Cousin," she smirked. "Bellatrix and Narcissa are my sisters."
"Oh - right," I said. "So - is Narcissa at Hogwarts too?"
"No, Cissy's two years younger than me, Bella's two years older," she answered.
"Cool," I smiled, as she turned back to her work.
Hey, this Andromeda seemed a lot nicer than normal Slytherins, and a lot nicer than Bellatrix. Not all of Black's family seemed like pure-blood nutters.
Hey readers!
Thanks for the over 600 reads - it means alot!
Please review. I plan to include more of Trudy's family in the next few chapters. (:
