Although I've finished this story about three weeks ago, I still cannot believe it's over. A big thank you to each and everyone of you who have read and/or left reviews. Thank you all so much for your continuous support, and for all of your patience! I could never thank you enough. I love you all so much, and you all mean the world to me! Thank you again! :) This story may be ending, but that doesn't mean Ginny and Draco's story is completely over! :o Sometime after the New Year (latest will be mid February) I will have Unraveling Secrets posted up here! So, make sure you keep watch for that! :D (GORGEOUS banner by Beeezie! :D)
Three months was all she needed to know that she had made the right decision in choosing Harry. She experienced the happiness and wholeness she once knew, and wouldn't change it for the world. Her new life seemed to be on the right track.
She began a new lease on the old flat she had rented, and the two began to live there. Along with a new lease, she signed a new contract with the HolyHead Harpies for another year, starting in November. Her family had become the tight-knit family they once were - all except Percy, who still held his distance.
One night, Ginny was sitting on the couch, watching the fire crack as her thoughts wondered to Draco. She bit her lip as she recalled the nights she shared with him. Although she was exceptionally happy in her life with Harry, she couldn't help but miss the late night talks they had, the little moments when Draco was at his most vulnerable around her, and the time he acted like a little kid, such as the time they went to St. Mungo's and saw the baby, along with hearing the heartbeat.
Her eyes began to tear up as the memories continued to wash through her. A tear escaped her as the day in the Three Broomsticks when she told him she had lost the baby came to her. The devastated look on his face was nothing she had ever seen before. She couldn't compare it to anything she had ever seen before. No words could describe the pain that had filled his eyes and face. Another tear fell from her eye as she remembered how she walked out on him, not trying to give him any sort of consolation. That was something she would never forgive herself for, and something he would probably never forgive her for.
"Are you coming to bed?" Harry asked gently as he stood in the hall. He leant against the wall, his arms crossed, as he looked at her.
"I was just coming," she replied as she wiped the few tears that had escaped her eyes.
"Let me help you," he said as he walked over to her, pulling her up from the couch, her stomach bumping into him. "Could happen any time, right?"
"Right," she whispered as her hands ran along her stomach lovingly.
He kissed her cheek as his hand rested against her stomach, a small kick thudding against his hand. A smile came to his face as he felt it. She smiled at him.
Once they reached the bed, Ginny lied down on her back, her thoughts still on Draco. Harry lied on his side and looked at her. His hand reached her face, and he moved it so he could look into her eyes.
"What's troubling you?"
A small smile came to her lips as she answered, "Nothing, I'm fine."
"You're not fine," he responded gently. "I can see that you're ready to cry...."
Her chin quivered as her eyes watered even more. Her brows furrowed as a tear rolled out of the corner of her eye. Harry wiped it away gently with his thumb, and then leaned over to kiss her forehead.
"I can't begin to imagine how you're feeling right now, Ginny. I'm sorry for that...I wish I could take all of your pain away. You don't deserve this."
"No, I do, actually...," she whispered. She turned away from him and closed her eyes. "I hurt him worse than he's ever hurt me...even worse than you hurt me...."
Without saying anything, Harry moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her hair and whispered in her ear, "Everything will be okay, Ginny. You don't need to worry about a thing...."
"I'm such a hypocrite...," she said softly as she continued to cry.
Not too long after, Ginny fell asleep in Harry's arms. He looked at her, wishing he could take every pain she felt away. Kissing her head one more time, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
"H-Harry! Harry, wake up!" Ginny shouted as she shook him away violently.
Being startled, he shot up in bed and looked around. He grabbed his glasses, and looked down at Ginny in a panic. "What is it?"
"I-I think the baby's coming!" she exclaimed before she let out a scream.
Not wasting a moment, Harry sprung out of bed, got dressed, sent a patronus to warn the Healers, and helped her out of bed. They walked slowly to the living room, her pain increasing. They made it to the fireplace, and Harry grabbed a handful of Floo powder. Holding Ginny's hand tightly, he threw the powder down and shouted, "St. Mungo's!"
They whirred around quickly before landing in the grate of the waiting room in St. Mungo's. Waiting there was a couple of caregivers and Healer Rodanthe. Ginny smiled slightly as relief seemed to fill her body. The smile didn't last too long though as another contraction pained her.
"Alright, let get her in delivery," Healer Rodanthe said.
Making their way down the halls, Healer Rodanthe finally walked into a large room. They prepped Ginny quickly, having her lie in the bed comfortably. It wasn't too long before Ginny and Healer Rodanthe began the process. Harry stayed with Ginny, holding her and, encouragin her the whole way through.
"That's a girl, Ginny! C'mon, keep going," Healer Rodanthe encouraged. "We're almost there!"
Ginny let out one last scream before a loud wailing filled the room. Healer Rodanthe grinned as she looked at Ginny and Harry.
"It's a beautiful, healthy baby girl!"
One of the nurses took the baby out of Healer Rodanthe's arms, and started to clean her up. After a few minutes, the nurse brought her back in pink robes, and handed her to Ginny.
A smile formed onto her face as she began to cry out of happiness. She looked up at Harry who was smiling down at her and the baby. He kissed the top of Ginny's head and said, "She's beautiful, Ginny."
Ginny looked back at the small baby in her arms and kissed her forehead. She began to play with the small fingers and looked into the big grey eyes that looked up at her.
"Hi there, sweet one. You are beautiful."
Another half hour passed as Ginny and Harry continued to coo and gush over the small baby. Healer Rodanthe walked back into the room and looked at Ginny and Harry. She let out a soft sigh before walking up to the two of them.
"Ginny, it's time."
"I love you, sweet girl," she whispered before she kissed the baby's forehead once more. She then handed the baby to Healer Rodanthe, and began to cry.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Healer Rodanthe questioned as she saw the pain on Ginny's face.
Ginny nodded as her eyes looked away from Healer Rodanthe. "It's the best thing for her...."
Healer Rodanthe smiled slightly at Ginny before she turned away, taking the baby with her. Ginny watched Healer Rodanthe leave before turning to Harry's chest. Clutching his shirt, she began to sob, not able to control herself.
"There goes my baby, Harry.... "There goes my baby...."
