“So, you two want to go out to eat tonight? I mean I know I am going to be tired, and I am not going to want to cook.” Hermione said as she sipped her tea.
“Actually, I promised Ginny I would take her out tonight, she said she wanted to talk to me about something” Harry said
“Oh, well Ron do you want to go?” Hermione asked
“Sure, I know I will be starved, after a long day of pushing papers around” Ron said sarcastically.
“Oh, don’t be so thick Ron. You know that you need to work your way up from the bottom.” Hermione said
“The bottom… that’s the story of my life” Ron said trying to sound aggravated
“Don’t try to work that charity case on me, I know how you are, you just want me to feel sorry for you because you want something.” Hermione said before looking at her watch “Oh my I have to go, but I will see you for dinner right?”
“Yeah, you know me to well; I need to think of something else to get what I want from you.” Ron said giving Hermione a kiss on the cheek.
“What exactly do you want from me?” Hermione asked looking confused.
“Tell you later” Ron said seductively
“Oh, shut up! I don’t want to her this” Harry said looking much grossed out.
“Sorry, Harry” Hermione said on her way out the door “Bye Ron”
“You two are disgusting” Harry said sipping his coffee
“Oh, you just wish you had what I have” Ron said standing up and walking towards the fireplace.
“I do” Harry whispered to himself. As he got up and followed Ron to the fireplace, they were off to work…
Harry and Ron got back home before Hermione. They hadn’t really had a busy day, the of course filled out different paper work, and they sat around a lot. When they got back to the flat they just sat on the couch talking…
“They call this training?” Ron asked Harry as he untied his shoes and kicked them off.
“I guess we are training, to learn how to throw paper balls into a basket five feet away.” Harry said laughing; this was what they actually did all day. They shared a small office together, where they sat around and threw paper balls trying to make it into a basket.
“Yeah, well at least it has good pay” Ron said throwing his head back on the couch.
“Yeah, it does, so where are you going to dinner to night?” Harry asked him as he got up and walked over to the kitchen.
“I don’t know, anywhere that serves food I guess” Ron said
“Aren’t you going to tell her that, you love her tonight?” Harry asked Ron
“What!?” Ron asked as he flung his head around to look at Harry
“You heard me” Harry said while biting into a sandwich that he had just made.
“I know what you said, but I mean where did you get it? When did I say I loved her?” Ron knew that he loved her; he just didn’t know how Harry knew.
“A little birdie told me” Harry said laughing
“Ginny! I can’t believe her; I told her that in confidence. How could she?” Ron said now angry that his sister had told Harry, what he told her about Hermione. Ron had asked her how he should tell Hermione that he loved her.
“Come on, you act as if I couldn’t tell anyway”
“Yeah? Is it noticeable? You think she knows?” Ron said
“To me it is, but I mean it took you two six years to see how the other one felt so I’m sure she hasn’t noticed” Harry said walking towards his bedroom.
He had a point. Ron now felt better; he figured Hermione probably didn’t know, which he was glad about. He wanted to be the one who told her. How would he tell her, maybe he could just bring it up in conversation?
“So, Hermione how was work? Good I hope, I love you, oh and Harry wanted me to ask you if you could do his laundry.” Ron thought that was not going to work.
He sat there thinking for another ten minutes, then Hermione walked in.
“Hey, how was work?” Ron asked her
“Dreadful, I’m beat” Hermione said plopping down beside him. He gave her a kiss on the forehead as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
“Ready to go? I am so hungry.” Hermione said to Ron
“Oh, I was thinking we could go to that French place, you know the one on the corner?” Ron answered
“Really? I didn’t think you would like those kinds of places” Hermione pulled her head off his shoulder to look at him.
“Well, you deserve it, so I want to take you” Ron said giving her a smile.
“Okay, well I guess I have to change my clothes, you may want to also.” They both were wearing jeans, “You have to be dressed nice to get in to the restaurant” Hermione added
“Oh, I thought you were calling me ugly” Ron said, he honestly thought that Hermione was trying to say that he was grungy or something.
“Don’t be silly, I’m going to get a quick shower and get ready” Hermione said standing up and walking towards the bathroom.
About fifteen minutes later Ron walked over to the bathroom, he also wanted to get a shower in before they left…
“Knock, knock…Hermione you almost done?” Ron asked as he stood outside the bathroom door.
“Yes, I am” Hermione said as she opened the door. She was only in a towel, and Ron found himself fantasizing about what was underneath that towel, he was looking her up and down, but he was quickly snapped back to reality.
“What exactly are you looking at?” Hermione asked as she inched out of the doorway, carefully holding her towel up around her body.
“You!” Ron said in response “I mean, nothing”
“Yeah, well quit looking at me like that, when I don’t have clothes on it makes me uncomfortable” Hermione said walking back towards her room.
Ron took, his shower, he changed and then he walked down to the living room to wait for Hermione. Harry was on his way out, he was heading back to the Burrow to pick up Ginny and go out to dinner.
“See ya Harry” Ron said “Wish me luck”
“Yeah, see you later, and good luck” Harry said with a smile
“Bye Harry” Hermione said she was on her way down the stairs.
Harry stepped back into the flat for a second…
“Wow, Hermione you look great”
“Bye, all” Harry said as he walked back out of the door.
“Hermione you look amazing” Ron said as he went and stood by her. He spun her around it mad her skirt float through the air.
She truly did look amazing, she had on a slinky black skirt, with a black fitted top that had red lining all around it, she also had on a pair of high heels, that mad her almost the same height as Ron, but not quite. Ron didn’t look half bad; he had on a pair of black slacks with dress shoes and a dark blue button up shirt.
“Thank you, you look pretty good yourself” Hermione said with a wink
They were on their way. This was the night Ron would tell Hermione how he felt. Maybe she would return the favor. Ron was also hoping something else would happen tonight... (Wink, wink)
