I was getting ready, looking in the mirror, when suddenly I saw a dark figure behind me. The figure put one of their hands over my mouth, and the other over my eyes, so that I was enclosed in darkness.
"Callan, what are you doing?" I asked, laughing.
"How'd you know it was me?" He asked.
"Well, we're the only ones in this house, and since I wasn't me doing that, it had to be you."
"Oh." Callan said.
I shook my head at his cluelessness, and went back to looking in the mirror.
Again, Callan walks up behind me, he traces kisses from my shoulder, up my neck, to my ear. Then he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Happy anniversary." He whispered in my ear.
I smiled and turned around to face him. "Happy anniversary to you too, baby." I said before kissing him. He pulled me with him, until we fell on his bed.
As you can see, things with Callan turned out well. I was right, it was the first of a million days we would spend together. All right, so it hasn't been a million days, it's only been 1,095 days, but we were getting there.
Now, three years later, I was completely head over heels in love with Callan. I couldn't imagine my life without him. He was my best friend, you know, besides Hermione. We knew things about eachother, that no one, including our friends didn't know about us.
Like for instance, our friends have no idea that Callan lives by himself, and has been for the past three and a half years. His parents were killed by a Death Eater who had escaped Azkaban, whom they had caught. Apparently, this guy could really hold a grudge. He came after them, and murdered them, for awhile, the Ministry thought he was going to come after Callan too, but he didn't, thank goodness.
"Should I give you your present now?" He asked smiling at me.
"Yes." I said getting off him, so he could get it.
He pulled out a small velvet box. "Bryce," he said, "I love you, and I know I'm going to spend the rest of my life with you. More importantly, I'm going to spend at least a million days with you."
I raised my eyebrows, "So, what are you saying, that after a million days we're over?" I asked.
"What? N-no, of course not!" Callan stuttered. "I-just, I was trying to b-be romantic."
"Oh, sorry." I said. "Please continue."
"Er, right. A million days…oh yeah! Um, I just really love you, and I can't wait to officially start our lives together. Nothing and no one will ever come between us, I swear. And I just don't know what I'd do without you."
I stared at him. Was he proposing? Would I say yes? Oh,of course I would say yes, I loved him, and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
He opened the box, inside wasn't a ring, but a gorgeous locket. It had a tiny little frog, over a silver heart, it was absolutely stunning.
"Oh,Callan." I said, trying to prevent tears from filling up in my eyes. "It's so beautiful!" I exclaimed.
"It's nothing compared to you." Callan said smiling proudly.
"You're so cheesy." I said laughing and shaking my head.
"I know, but I make up for it with my good looks, and charm." He said as he put it on me.
"Now, I feel crappy about the present I got you." I said.
"I'm sure I'll love it." He said shrugging.
"If you say so." I went to get his gift. I handed him the bag, and he opened it,and pulled out the Fudge Flies I had gotten him.
"Oooh, Fudge Flies." He said smiling.
"I know, I'm so horrible!" I said. "I'm the worst girlfriend on planet Earth!"
"Bryce, babe, what are you talking about?" Callan asked grabbing my hands, "I love Fudge Flies."
"I know, but we've been together for three years, and all I got you was a bag of Fudge Flies, while you gave me a gorgeous locket."
At my explanation, Callan's smile faded a little. I inwardly smiled, this was working out perfectly.
"Well, yeah, but it's fine." He assured me.
"No, it's not." I sighed, "This probably cost a fortune, and I didn't even spend ten Galleons on you."
Now Callan was no longer smiling, he looked slightly disappointed. Wonderful.
"It's okay, Bryce." He said without much conviction. He was right where I wanted him.
"If you say so." I said giving him a peck on the lips. "Now, I know I'm horrible, but could you go in the closet, look in the corner, and get me my brown boots, please?"
"Sure." Callan said a bit moodily. I waited for him.
"I don't see them!" He shouted.
"They're in there,keep looking!" I yelled back.
"I don't see them, but there is this big package."
"Package?" I asked, hoping I sounded convincing.
"Yeah." He said, "Here, let me show you." He brings the big package out, it's long. "What is this?" He asked.
I shrugged, "Why don't you open it?"
He looked at me suspiciously, but opens the package, never the less. His eyes widen, and I smile. He looks up at me. "Did-did you…is this for me?"
I nod, laughing. "B-Bryce, this-this is a Firebolt 2001!" Callan exclaimed. "It's the best broom in the world!"
"Is it really?" I asked, curiously.
"Yes," he said looked at it admiringly. "And you-you're the best girlfriend in the world!" He said wrapping his arms around me and picking me up.
I giggled like a little girl. "I love you a million Fudge Flies." Callan said resting his forehead against mine.
"And I love you a million Chocolate Frogs." I whispered back. Then, he kissed me, so passionately, I melted into him. Again, we fall down on the bed. Callan quickly slips my shirt over my head. Then he unbottons and unzips my shorts. I know he wants to have sex, and any other time, I would be all for it, but now isn't the best time.
"Callan, don't even think about it." I said.
He groaned, "Why not?"
"Because, we have to go to lunch, we're already late as it is." I said calmly.
"How about we do it quick then?" He asked desperately. "Please, I'm really turned on right now."
"No, because then it will take the fun out of doing later."
"But, we did it twice yesterday, and it was still fun."
"Of course it was, but don't you want it to be extra special today considering it's our anniversary?" I asked.
"Fine, fine, we'll wait." Callan said in a defeated voice, as he got up. He looked at his broom stick again. "I can't wait to tell Harry and Ron, they're gonna be so jealous!"
Callan and I walked into the Leaky Cauldron, holding hands and looking for our friends. It was our annual lunch, ever since third year, we've been having lunch together at the Leaky Cauldron on August 28th. We were late, as usual.
"You're late." Everyone chorused as we sat down.
"Oh, really?" I said sarcastically, "We didn't notice."
"Why are you always late?" Hermione asked.
"Well, we always have this lunch on our anniversary,we would like to spend some time alone, thank you." Callan said.
"Speaking of anniversaries," Cho said, "Is that what you got Bryce, Callan?" She pointed to my gorgeous locket.
"Yes." Callan said smiling proudly, yet, again.
"It's lovely." Luna gushed.
"So,what did you get him?" Harry asked.
I decided to tease them, "Fudge Flies." I said simply.
"No, really." Ron said.
I stared at them seriously. They could not hide their shock. I was surprised I didn't start laughing, their faces were priceless.
"So, for your third year anniversary, you got him Fudge Flies?" Hermione asked.
I nodded. Callan then burst out "And a Firebolt 2001!"
"No way!" Harry and Ron chorused.
"Yep, and it's beautiful!" Callan bragged.
"Well, have you ridden it yet?" Harry asked excitedly.
"No, but I'm riding it tomorrow. I'll show you at the party."
I tuned out of the conversation to look at all my friends. Next to me, was Cho Chang. A smart and pretty Asian girl with gorgeous silky black hair and freckles.
Across from her was Harry Potter, messy black hair, bright green eyes, and a visible lightening scar on his forehead. His hand was extended across the table, holding Cho's.
Their relationship is very complicated. They're together, but not officailly. It's clear they're crazy about eachother, but, as I've said before, Harry is famous. Therefore, he has alot of fan girls, and sometimes he gets distracted by these fan girls. Never the less, he always comes back to Cho.
Next to Harry is Hermione Granger, my best friend. Her hair was no longer bushy, but merely curly. She was still harboring a crush on Ron, which, I'm sure he reciprocated, but they're both too stubborn to do anything about it. They are so difficult.
Speak of the devil, next to Hermione is Ron Weasley. He had flaming red hair, bright blue eyes, and freckles. He was still utterly hilarious and not to mention, a giant compared little old me.
At the end of the table was Luna Lovegood. Her expression was dreamy, as usual. Her long, curly blonde hair was loose, her big silver eyes, wide, and her smile was the same as her expression; dreamy.
Finally, on the other side of me, was Callan. His gorgeous grey eyes, cute dimpled smile, and light brown hair, I was lucky he was mine. Alot of girls at Hogwarts would poison me to take my place. I always have to watch what I drink.
I tuned back into the conversation when Hermione brings up our OWL (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) results.
"How many Outstandings did you get?" She asked me.
"Uh, nine." I said, with a little disappointment. "History of Magic killed me."
"What did you get?" Cho asked.
"Exceeds Expectations." I answered.
"Oh, yeah it really killed you." Callan said sarcastically.
"Shut it, Merole!" I said laughing.
"You two have been together for three years, and you still call him by his last name. That's odd." Luna said.
Callan smiled, "That's because she loves my last name, and it's gonna be her last name soon enough."
"Oh, really?" Hermione asked.
"Yes, really." I said. "In a mere few years I will be Brycelynn Ana Rewe Merole. Or BARM."
Everyone laughed. "BARM." Ron said, "What a horrible name."
"Hey, don't make fun of my girl's future name." Callan said putting his arm protectively around me.
"Yeah." I said, "And you have no room to talk, your middle name is Bilius."
Again everyone burst out laughing. "Hey, that's family name!" Ron said defensively. "I bet your middle names aren't any better!"
"Mine is Elizabeth." Luna said as though she was thinking hard.
"Mine is Jean." Hermione said looking amused.
"Mine is James." Harry said grinning.
"Mine is Arnold." Callan said making a face.
"I don't have one." Cho said shrugging.
"Yeah, Ron, I'd say you have the worst middle name out of all of us." I said laughing.
"Whatever." He grumbled crossing his arms.
The rest of lunch was wonderful. Afterwards, we went to get our school supplies as usual. Then we went for ice cream. We said bye to eachother, and said we'd see eachother tomorrow at Callan's "Back to Hogwarts" party.
Callan and I went back to his house, where we made wonderful, passionate love. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay the night again. Instead, I had to return to my crazy, secretive home life that no one but Callan knew about.
