Chapter 3 : Confontation

Ginny had gotten over the diary; perhaps it wasn’t so bad she wrote that down. Maybe it might be helpful to her. She sat at dinner that evening, looking normal. She and Seamus acted like nothing had happened.
Ginny left dinner early and stood outside in the corridor. A few minutes later Seamus came out. He walked right up to her and kissed her. They held that kiss, and then Ginny pulled away and dragged him to the nearest broom closet.
Things were going well for Ginny. Seamus had been fine when she said they were over, and then they were naked in each other’s arms an hour later. Ginny had decided that he was a keeper, even if she wasn’t seeing him on a regular basis. For now though, she was just waiting for another boy to find his way into her web.
Hermione had started to grow suspicious of Ginny; she had been sneaking off quite a bit lately. She seemed like herself, but something was off. Right now, things seemed alright, she wasn’t sneaking off nearly as much if at all. But Hermione still wanted to know.
Was Ginny seeing someone? Had she been doing extra work with one of the teachers? Hermione didn’t think it could be that because Ginny didn’t seem any better in the classes they had together, she actually seemed to be concentrating less.
Whatever it was, Hermione wanted to know. Except every time she went to talk to Ginny she had either disappeared once again or found another way of avoiding her. Did she know what Hermione was after? Was she trying to hide something?
That part was obvious, of course she was hiding something. Why else would she be sneaking about? But how bad was it that she wouldn’t tell her best friend? Why was she avoiding Hermione?
Hermione finally got her chance. Ginny had been about to sneak off once again, she had been getting ready to go see Seamus again and had gotten up from her seat at the Gryffindor table when Hermione cut in front of her.
“We need to talk.” She said as she blocked Ginny’s way.
“Kay, what about?” She asked Hermione. Her face looked innocent enough, but inside she was panicking.
“Not here, the common room.” Hermione dragged Ginny through the corridors, and almost ran into Seamus who darted away before he was seen when he saw Ginny wasn’t alone.
When they reached the Gryffindor common room Ginny was dragged over to the couch and forced to sit, “Spill.” Hermione said her hand on her wand in her pocket in case she had to keep Ginny from leaving.
“Spill what? I don’t know what you’re-“
“You’ve been sneaking off Ginerva Molly Weasley, I have seen it and it’s bugging me you won’t tell me why. And don’t you dare lie to me!” Hermione said calling Ginny by her full name, she always used full names when she was upset with someone, especially Ron and Ginny’s.
“I’ve been studying, alright!” Ginny said very convincingly, crocodile tears forming in her eyes. “You’ve seen how bad I’ve been doing lately. I am trying to study harder! Geeze Hermione.”
Hermione suddenly felt a pang of guilt for getting so upset with Ginny. “I’m sorry Ginny, I really am, maybe I can help y-“
“No!” Ginny blurted out a little to fast. “I mean, I think I should do it by myself, I would feel like I’m achieving more that way and I don’t want to take you from your studies.”
“Oh, well,” Hermione said looking a bit hurt, “I guess I’ll see you around.” Hermione started to back away. “Remember, Ginny, I’m your best friend, you can tell me anything.”
“I know Hermione, I know …” Ginny said quietly as Hermione slipped back out the portrait, suddenly she didn’t feel so up to seeing Seamus again, or the next day, or the next, or anytime after that.
That's it for now! I'm leaving for yet another trip (half the reason I didn't get this up sooner was because I took 3 different week long trips) soon, so I won't have time to write chapter four or work on my one-shot I've been trying to write (it needs redoing.) But I promise to have them up as soon as I can! Love you all and please review!
