Hermione and Ron arrived at St. Mungo's. They both sat in the tea room with the rest of the Weasley's. Harry was pacing the room with his head bowed. Mrs. Weasley was in the room with Ginny.
''Harry, calm down mate, have some tea,'' said Fred handing Harry a cup of tea.
Harry shook his head.
''I don't want any, thanks,'' he said.
''Harry, calm down,'' said Hermione. ''Everything's going ot be fine.''
''Don't you get it? I'm going to be a father any moment now. I can't help but feel...nervous,'' he said.
Hermione, with no response, sat back down and linked hands with Ron. She was more than happy for Harry, and she couldn't wait to see the baby. It was true, she did have no idea what Harry was going through, but she had seen enough of it to know a little of how he was feeling.
''We're going for a walk,'' said Bill. ''Anyone want to come?''
''We will,'' said Fred who stood up, along with George.
''Me too,'' said Charlie standing up.
''What about you two?'' he asked Ron and Hermione.
''I think we'll stay with Harry,'' said Ron.
Ron couldn't be a better friend. He knew that Harry needed to be around someone, and he knew that he and Hermione were the ones that he needed to be around.
The others left, leaving Ron, Hermione, and Harry...the golden trio. Ron got up and refilled his tea cup. He took a sip and watched Harry.
''Are you alright?'' he said.
''Yeah,'' said Harry stopping. ''I'm just...excited and nervous all at once.''
''I understand, mate...well...not really, but...well, I'm here for you,'' said Ron.
Harry looked up at him.
''Thanks,'' he said. ''The both of you,'' he added to Hermione.
Hermione stood up and walked towards the two.
''Harry, we've always been here for you,'' she said.
''Yeah. And I thank you for that too,'' he said.
Hermione hugged Harry and kissed him on the cheek. Hermione grabbed Ron's arms and he put his arm around.
''How much longer can this take?'' said Harry looking up at the clock.
''It could take hours,'' said Hermione.
Harry gave her a look that she was crazy.
''Hours?'' he repeated.
''Yeah. It's not an easy process,'' she said.
''But they do this all the time,'' said Ron.
''Yes, they do, but it's a long, drawn out process. You can't rush it.''
Harry walked over to a chair and sank into it. He put his head into his hands and hid his face from them. Hermione sat in the chair beside him.
''Harry, it'll all happen soon,'' she said patting him on the back.
''I just hope that Ginny will be okay,'' he said raising his head.
''She will be, Harry. Don't worry about it,'' said Hermione.
Harry nodded and stared back at the floor.
Hours passed, and still no word about Ginny. Fred, George, Bill, and Charlie all left for the burrow to get something to eat, but the golden trio remained. Harry had started pacing the room again, and Ron and Hermione couldn't do anything but watch.
Finally, seven hours after they first arrived, a Healer walked in carrying a bundle wrapped in blue blankets. Harry stopped pacing and looked at her.
''Mr. Potter?'' she said.
''That's me,'' said Harry walking towards her.
''May I introduce you to your son,'' she said handing him the bundle.
Harry took his son in his arms and looked into his eyes. His eyes were just as his were, and red hair barely covered his head.
Hermione and Ron were on their feet, looking at the baby. Hermione wrapped her arms around Ron and leaned into him puttin gher head on his chest.
''D-Did Ginny say what she wanted to name him?'' Harry asked the Healer.
''Yes. James Arthur Potter,'' she said with a smile.
Harry looked back at his baby. James Arthur Potter he thourght to himself. A single tear ran down his cheek, and he wiped it away. This was by far, the happiest moment in his life. He could feel the eyes of everyone in the room on him, but he didn't care...his life was complete.
Another Healer burst into the room and walked quickly to the other healer that was already in the room. He whispered something in his ear, and the first Healer gave a grave look to Harry.
''Mr. Potter,'' she said. ''I've got to return to your wife. Everything will be alright though. Would you like to keep James for a while?''
Harry looked at her fearfully.
''Is everything okay?'' he asked.
''I don't know.''
''Yes. I'll keep James. Go to her.''
The two Healers rushed from the room. Harry sat down, and Ron and Hermione sat on either side of him.
''Do you think she's okay?'' asked Harry.
''I'm sure that they'll get her better if anything's wrong,'' said Hermione reassuringly.
Harry sighed and looked at James.
''He's more than I would have ever expected,'' he said.
Hermione looked up at Ron and smiled.
''He's beautiful,'' she said.
''Yeah,'' said Ron.
Harry turned to Ron.
''Ron...Ginny and I were talking. We both decided that we wanted you to be Godfather to him,'' he said and he turned to Hermione. ''And Hermione, we want you to be Godmother.''
Ron stared at the baby.
''Thanks, Harry. I accept.''
''Me too,'' pipped Hermione who had teary eyes.
''Do you want to hold him?'' he asked them.
''I do,'' said Hermione.
Harry carefully handed James over to Hermione. He looked at his baby. He was more than he had ever wanted. It amazed Harry how he could fall in love with something he's just seen for the first time.
''He's a bit bald, isn't he?'' said Ron.
''Ron, he's supossed to be like that,'' said Hermione with her finger in the grip of James.
The others returned and each of them took a chance at holding the baby. Mrs. Weasley came in and looked around.
''Harry,'' she called.
Harry got up and walked towards Mrs. Weasley. She pulled him out of ear shot of the others.
''What's wrong?'' he asked.
Mrs. Weasley's face was tear-streaked and red.
''It's Ginny, dear,'' she said.
''Is she okay?'' he asked.
''Has no one told you she's not breathing?'' she asked.
''She's not breathing! What the hell? Why isn't she breathing?''
''Harry, calm down, dear, they're doing everything to try to get her back.''
''Don't say that! She's going to be okay.''
''Harry,'' she said holding his shoulders. ''There's not much that we can do. We can only hope.''
Harry turned away and went back with the others. He took Ron and Hermione out of ear shot as Mrs. Weasley had done.
''Harry, what's wrong?'' asked Hermione.
Harry was close to tears, but he managed to tell them.
''Oh, Harry,'' said Hermione pulling him into a hug where Harry broke down.
''I did this to her,'' he said .
''No you didn't, Harry,'' said Hermione.
''She couldn't have made a baby with out me!'' he said pulling away from her.
''Harry, you didn't do this. You can't help that Ginny's body can't handle this. It's not your fault.''
Hermione was in tears, along with Harry. Harry shook his head.
''If she dies, I don't know what I'll do with myself,'' he said.
He slid down the wall and sat on the floor.
''Where's James?'' he asked.
''I'll get him,'' said Ron.
Hermione sat next to Harry as Ron went to get James.
''Harry, nothing is your fault. She's going to be okay, you'll see.''
Ron returned with James, and he handed him to Harry. Harry held his son in his arms.
''I'm so sorry,'' he whispered to him. ''I killed your mother.''
