She stuck up for him in the worst of times except for the day he did something inexcusable. Towards the end of their 6th year Snape “accidently” called Lily a Mudblood and she hasn’t spoken to him since. He however has tried many times
Lily’s P.O.V.
So after successfully avoiding my friend’s questions about my note yesterday I went to bed early. I laid here and settled into a strange sleep.
I woke up at 6am to an annoying sound. It was on a school owls tapping on the window attempting to deliver a note for me. I finally pulled myself up out of my bed.
I took the note off the owl’s leg and read
Dear Lily
We need to talk. Can you please meet me on the grounds under the big tree at the lake in a little while?
Severus
'Ugh I don’t want to deal with him right now’, I thought, ‘but, if I don’t deal with him now he will never let it go…’
I dressed and walked out to the lake to see my former friend sitting there.
“Lily will you every forgive me?” he pleaded.
"I don’t know. It will be difficult.”
“Ok” he said. I felt bad because he looked so defeated, but he hurt me too many times.
“Can I talk to you about something then?” he asked.
“What?”
“Stay away from Potter. He is not a good guy. His pranks are not always innocent and you know that. I know he likes you, but he is going to hurt you.”
“You don’t have a clue Severus.”
“So do you like him then?” He asked with a shocked look on his face.
“No, but it is not for you to decide who is good or bad for me”. I am now getting more frustrated with Severus. How dare he say awful things about James... ugh I hate that I like him sometimes.
“Ok” he replies, “By the way how are you feeling?”
“Meaning?”
“From the train” he looks at his feet.
“I am ok. Why?”
"I’m sorry that curse hit you. It wasn’t meant too.”
“Well who was it meant for then Severus?” My temper is now rising and about to break.
“Potter” he says trying to catch my eye.
“Good bye Severus. Do not contact me again”. I stood up from the ground and walked away as fast as possible. He really could have hurt James… he almost did it to me…
I felt such hatred that I never thought my body was able to create. I walked back into my dorm and my girls were waiting for me. I could tell they were ready to mock and attempt to figure out who Kisses at Midnight was. The second I walked in though you could tell the mood had changed in an instant.
Natalie asks “Lily what’s wrong?”
“WHY WAS I EVER FRIENDS WITH HIM??!!”
“Lily who are you talking about?” Tina asks concerned.
“Stupid Severus. I hate that I was friends with him. I hate him. He is an awful human being. Why did you let me be friends with that jerk? He was the one who cursed me!! He tried to hit him, but if he wasn’t there to help me something much worse could have happened Madam Pomfrey said.”
“Wait who helped you?” Natalie asks.
