"Ron, slow down on the chocolate frogs" Hermione said to her red-headed friend, who was currently shoving the magic candy down his throat.

"Right, 'Mione. He's going to do that" Harry said in a sarcastic tone.

"He will if I make him, Harry" She said.

She reached over and grabbing the chocolate frog packages sprawled against Ron's lap.

"`Mione!" He complained. Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Honestly, Ronald, you have enough chocolate to last you until Christmas." She replied. He just gave an insignificant grunt. She sighed, and looked out the window.

They were currently on the Hogwarts Express, on their way back to the school for our seventh year. Everyone who was in the seventh year previously was invited back to the school to finish their learning.

Harry and Ron didn't want to go, of course, but with some persuading Hermione had convinced them. It wasn't easy though, but what with Harry wanting to be and auror he needs his proper education and Ron wouldn't stay back by himself.

She was currently reading Hogwarts: A History for the umpteenth time, when the compartment door slid open and a head poked in.

"Neville!" Hermione gasped. He had certainly frightened her because the curtains in the compartment windows curtains were closed and she hadn't seen him approach.

"Have you lost Trevor?" Hermione asked, giving him a warm smile.

"No, Hermione." He shook his head. "McGonagall wants you, she said to bring your bags and stuff because you wont be back before we get to Hogsmeade." And with that he slipped away.

"Well, I'd better go boys. I'll see you at Hogwarts!" She said, grabbing her bags from the overhead racks.

"Hermione!" Ron said right before she had approached the door. She rolled her eyes, and took out three packs of the frogs she had taken from him before Neville had approached them. She threw them onto the seat next to him.

"There you go, Ron. Now I'll see you at the carriages, and if not then at the feast." Hermione said.

She slid the compartment door shut and twirled around when she hit something. Or somebody, rather. She staggered for a second, then looked up to address who she had hit, and apologize. But when she saw who she had hit she most certainly knew she wasn't going to be apologizing.

"Watch it, Mudblood." The familiar figure said icily.

"You got in my way first, Malfoy" she pointed out. He had most definately changed over the summer.

His once always slicked back hair was lying infront of his eyebrows freely. He had grown a couple inches over the summer, making him about 4 inches taller than Hermione was. His eyes were silver with a blue tinge in them. Hermione hated to admit it, but he was handsome.

Realizing that she was ogling at him openly she shifted her eyes else-where. Malfoy lifted an eyebrow, but he turned around and started walking. Hermione let out a sigh. She grabbed her bag which fell to the ground when she hit him, and brushed it off, before heading in the same direction Malfoy had just gone in.

She was walking with her head down, not really watching where she was going when she hit something again but this time she lost her balance and fell to the ground. She looked up to see what had caused her to fall and much to her displeasure she saw Malfoy.

"Can't keep your hands of me, can you Granger?" He questioned. "I know you fancy me and all, just like every other girl in this school, but must you really resort to stalking me?" He finished off with his signature smirk.

She rolled her eyes.

"Oh yeah, I can see me fancying you, Malfoy" She replied.

"Oh, so you can?" He smirked again. She felt her cheeks growing hot, but she brushed it off by rolling her eyes again.

"Don't flatter yourself" She retorted. "Now if you will please move, I need to see McGonagall" She finished, side-stepping him and continuing to her headmistress' compartment.

"Oh funny, I was on my way to see her too, Granger." He said. Great. She thought. She saw the head compartment and picked up her pace, covering the space between her and the room in four long strides.

She knocked, and a couple seconds later the professor's head poked out that door, and she gestured for Hermione to come in.

"Ah, Miss Granger. Glad for you to join me. I have to discuss some things with you. Have you seen Mr Malfoy?" She asked. Hermione shook her head.

"He was just behind me not that long ago, must have forgotten something." Hermione suggested.
"Ah well, Mr Malfoy will show up soon." McGonagall said.

As if on cue, Malfoy came in. McGonagall shut the door, and turned to the students.
"I am here to discuss your prefect duties" She said.Oh noHermione thoughtAm I going to be taken away from my duties?!?! Oh no!

"You, Miss Granger, have been stated as head girl" She said. Hermione grinned widely.

"And you," She said, turning to Malfoy. "Have been made head boy" Hermiones grin fell. Malfoy smirked at the look on Hermiones face.

"This means" McGonagall started. "That you two must share a dormitory" Both of their faces fell. They would be dead within the month!

"I hope you two realize how much trust I am putting into you. I hope you take this as an opportunity for some civilization between your two houses. Now off you go, we are at Hogwarts." McGonagall said. Hermione got up and was about to leave before the head started talking again.

"I almost forgot. Your password is house unity and your room is on the 7th hall corridor."

Oh great, a deserted corridor. Hermione thought. She just nodded her head and slipped out of the door, a horrified look on her face. She most definately did not want to be sharing a room with Malfoy. Atleast they got seperate rooms. It would be odd if they had to share a bedroom. And awkward.

She was looking for a carriage to ride up to the school in when she notice Ron and Harry frantically waving at her. She started making her way to the carriage they were in when someone stepped in front of her.

"Get your ass out of my way, Malfoy" She spat in the rudest voice she had ever heard herself use, and stepped to the side and started to walk again. She took a couple steps before Malfoy grabbed her wrist and spun her around. Hermione looked up at him, frightened, partially because of the rude gesture, and partly because where he touched her sent an electric feeling through her body. Something she had never felt before, not even with Ron.

"Don't you ever, evertalk to me in that tone again, Mudblood" He said in a harsh voice, hate etched into every word. She gulped, and then nodded, and he let go of her. She trudged to the carriage that Ron and Harry were in. They obviously hadn't seen what had just happened, because they were chit-chatting away when she got to the carriage.

"Hey `Mione, what did McG-" Ron said, but stopped when he saw the look on her face. "What happened?" He asked.

"Malfoy" She replied in a monotone voice, still frightened.

"What did he do to you?!" Harry asked. She shook her head.

"Let's just say, it's going to be one hell of a year"
