Hermione stood in the kitchen fixing lunch for her and Ron. She put the soup on a tray and walked up the stairs to Ron's room. She opened the door and set the tray on the desk. She made her way to Ron, and lay beside him, wrapping her arms around him.

''Ron,'' she whispered.

Ron rolled right over and faced Hermione.

''Afternoon,'' she said to him.

''Afternoon,'' he said in a groggy voice.

Hermione leaned in and kissed him. She put her head back on the pillow and stared at Ron.

When the funeral was over, Ron had hid out in his room, far from prying eyes. Hermione was doing the best that she could to help him out. Ron's silence was more haunting than anything. The glow that was usually in his eyes had seemed to burn out. Now, they were lifeless and cold.

''What do you want to do today?'' she asked him.

Ron let out a heavy sigh, and rolled over onto his back.

''Ron, you've got to come out of your room sometime,'' said Hermione gazing at him.

Ron lay silent at her side. Hermione sat up and took his hand.

''When you're ready, I'm here.''

She got up and walked out of the room, closing the door. She walked down to the kitchen and cleaned up the lunch mess. Why was Ron acting like this? she thought to herself. She let out a sigh.

There was a knock at the front door, and Hermione went and opened it. Harry stood looking back at her.

''Hi, Harry,'' she said hugging him.

Harry walked in and Hermione closed the door.

''He still won't come out?'' he said looking up the stairs.

''No. At least he's talking though...I mean, it's progress.''

Harry sighed and tried to flatten his hair.

''Yeah. He'll come around though.''

''How's Ginny?''

''She's good. Tired, but good. We're packed and everything for when the baby comes.''

''I ment with her dad dying,'' said Hermione in a low voice.

''Well, she's been keeping busy. Says that it takes her mind off of everything,'' said Harry in the same low voice.

''I just hope that Ron will come around.''

''Is he eating?''

''Yeah. Not as much as usual, but it's still a good bit.''

''Just...keep doing what you're doing, and he'll come eventually. I've got to go and get Ginny some ice cream. I'll talk to you later, okay?'' said Harry.

''Okay. Thanks for stopping by,'' she said.

Harry kissed Hermione's head and walked out the door.

Hermione looked up the stairs. She slowly walked back up them and stood outside Ron's room. She reached for the door, but it opened before she could grasp it. She stood facing Ron.

''I'm sorry,'' he said in a scruffy voice.

''Nothing's your fault. Don't be sorry,'' she replied pulling him into a hug. ''I was so worried about you.''

''Where would I be without you, Hermione?'' he whispered.

Hermione felt a single tear run down her cheek and over her dry lips. Her Ron was back...talking and everything...he was back.

Ron pulled away from her and kissed her softly, then went back into a hug.

Hermione awoke the next morning. She looked next to her and saw Ron lying beside her with his eyes on hers.

''Good morning,'' he whispered.

Before she could reply, he kissed her sweetly on the lips.

''Good morning,'' she said.

Ron pulled Hermione closer to him.

''What do you want to do today?'' he asked.

Hermione smiled to herself.

''It doesn't matter,'' she said.

''How about this. We go and see Fred and George, then we got to lunch, then come back here.''

''That sounds great.''

The two were inside Fred and George's new flat, sitting on a black leather couch. It was a nice, posh flat. Fred and George had used their earnings and rewarded themselves with a nice place to live.

''So, we figured that it would just be best to stay out since we were already out here and settled,'' said Fred.

''So there's no one at the burrow with mum?'' asked Ron.

''Well, Charlie is staying with her for a while,'' said George.

''He and Bill are going to change out,'' said Fred.

''As long as she's not alone,'' said Ron.

''Is everything alright between you two and your mum then?'' asked Hermione.

''Well, we're civil towards each other now,'' said Fred.

''We decided that since Ginny was getting married that we would be civil,'' said George.

''As to not ruin anything.''

''For Ginny.''

Ron nodded. In the past years, he had gained a new respect for his brothers. They had seemed to grow up a bit since dueling with Umbridge their last year.

''Well, we've got to get going,'' said Ron taking Hermione's hand and standing up.

''Alright. We'll see you at the shop tomorrow then,'' said Fred.

''Oh, and Ron,'' called George.

Ron turned and looked at his older brothers.

''Play safely,'' said the two in unison with smirks.

Ron felt his ears redden as he turned back and walked out with Hermione.

The turned the corner, and ran into a long, blonde hair girl with large earrings dangling from her ears. Her wide eyes fell on the two as they approached her.

''Hi, Luna,'' said Hermione in a polite manner.

''Hi, Ronald, Hermione,'' she said in a dreamy voice.

''How are you?'' asked Ron.

''Oh. I'm good I suposse. I'm not returning to Hogwarts. I thought that I would come and find out where Ginny lives now. You know...to see how she is.''

''We're going back to our flat, and they live near us, so you're welcome to come along if you want,'' said Hermione.

Ron gave her an aprasing look, but Hermione and Luna ignored him.

''Sure then,'' she said.

The three walked out the the flat building, and onto the muggle streets where Luna got many funny looks from passing muggles.

''So, what are you going to do now that you're not in school anymore?'' asked Hermione.

''I've settled down. Moved in with a wonderful bloke. We're to be married this February,'' she said.

''Oh? Who is it?'' asked Hermione.

''Neville,'' Luna said simply.

Ron held in the urge to burst out laughing.

''Oh, that's...interesting.''

''Yes. Everyone has someone special,'' said Luna. ''You two have obviously found it.''

Ron and Hermione looked at each other and smiled.

''I've know that you two would be getting together for ages. It was only a matter of time,'' said Luna.

''How did you know?'' asked Hermione.

''I can read signs,'' she said.

The three walked into the flat building, and Luna went into Harry and Ginny's flat while Ron and Hermione went to theirs.

''Strange one, isn't she?'' said Ron.

''Yes. She is in a way,'' replied Hermione in an airy tone.

''What's wrong?''

''What? Nothing.''

''Something's wrong.''

''And how do you know that, Ronald Weasley?'' she said poking him in his stomach.

''It's in your voice,'' he said simply.

Hermione looked at him.

''What's wrong?'' he repeated.

''Well, the fact that Luna knew we were getting together before we did is kind of...odd,'' she said.

''Hermione! Look at who it came from! Loony Lovegood...she's not even in her right mind!'' said Ron with a laugh.

Ron pulled Hermione into his arms and looked into her eyes.

''Don't let Loony Lovegood get to you,'' he said.

Hermione gave him a weak smile, and kissed him on the lips. They sank into the kiss, and made it more passionate. Ron moved Hermione up against a wall, and was moving his hands on her body.

Hermione was on cloud nine like she always was when she was snogging Ron. This time though, something snapped inside of her. She pulled away from Ron.

''Ron...not right now,'' she said breathing hard.

Ron came back some and let her off of the wall. He ran his hand through his hair. Hermione walked into the kitchen.

She heard the door open, and Harry's voice.

''She's having it!'' it said.

Hermione rushed into the living room and saw Harry standing on his feet with a bag in his hand.

''She's having the baby,'' he said.

''Okay, we'll meet you at St. Mungo's,'' said Ron.
