“Come on Holly! We don’t have all the time in the world!” Fred Weasley yelled to me, from the other side of the portal. I huffed and climbed out of the Gryffindor common room and followed the red head down the steps and outside to the Quidditch Pitch. There was a game happening later today and I was going to the practice for “moral support.” George had already headed down much earlier wanting to do really well this game, seeing as he was just recovering from an injury and hadn’t played the last two.

“Why are you so slow?” Fred asked me, standing three feet in front of me, waiting.

“Why are you so tall?” I asked him.

He simply shrugged, “Just the genes I got- you want to talk about my muscles?” He asked and winked at me.

I blushed and once I reached him, I gave him a slap on the arm, “And exactly what muscles would you be talking about?”

Fred and George were really the only people where I could act myself and not be judged. I was super shy and didn’t have too many friends. I normally spent most of my time in the library doing homework or reading and there were those few times that I actually enjoyed helping Fred and George with their pranks.

You see, the Weasley twins and I had met our first year at Hogwarts. It was right before we were going up to be sorted, when George and I somehow got stuck together. I’m sure you can all imagine how mortified I was. Fred was laughing and George was swearing under his breath. I was trying to get away from him, but I just made matters worse. Eventually one of the professors noticed and came over to us and did a simple spell that  freed us. I was blushing like mad and wouldn’t even look at the two boys or anyone else for that matter. I was just hoping that we would be sorted into different houses, but with my luck- of course not.

I had been sorted and was sitting at the Gryffindor table, smiling like an idiot. The girl next to me was talking her head off, saying that we were going to be the best of friends. I simply nodded and waited to see what would happen next, not to mention by this point I was starving.

“Fred Weasley!” Professor McGonagall, who was the one who seperated George and me, yelled.

I watched as the red headed boy headed up the steps to the sorting hat. He looked terrified, but somehow relaxed at the same time. He sat for a moment or two before the hat roared out, “Gryffindor!” and he headed towards the same table I was sitting at where everyone was clapping and welcoming him. He saw me and sat down next to me and smiled. I forced a smile back. Next was George Weasley and I was secretly hoping that maybe he would be sorted elsewhere even if he h. Nope. Gryffindor was his house too. He walked over with a goofy grin on his face and sat on the other side of me, pushing the girl who was running her mouth off.

I wanted to say something, but at this point in time I was feeling very uncomfortable.

“Sorry ‘bout earlier mate, I’m George Weasley and that over there is-”

“George’s older brother, Fred.” The other red head said.

I looked between each one of them trying to figure out if there were any differences in which I would be able to tell who was who. I didn’t notice one thing; they both looked exactly the same.

“Aye, aren’t you going to tell us your name?” Fred asked.

“Holly.” I said and looked down at my plate and realized that food was covering the whole table. I grabbed a piece of ham and some mashed potatoes with gravy and peas.

After that night Fred and George bugged me to hang out with them and talk until I eventually made a deal with the twins. I would hang out with them for a day if they would quit bugging me afterwards. Well, it was pretty hard not hanging out with them again when I had so much fun. Needless to say we were now best buds.

“Must I show you?” Fred asked, bringing me back to the present. He started to take off his shirt and I protested.

“No one wants to see that! Now go on and get to practice. You’re already late as it is.” I said, as I pushed Fred in the direction of the changing room and I headed up to the stands.

The whole practice went pretty well, so I thought. Wood was doing very well as Keeper, only Angelina Johnson had scored on him. I watched as the players chased the Quaffle around, Potter chased after the snitch, and the twins hit the Bludgers around the field, and trying not to hit the other players with them. After awhile, I got somewhat bored, I loved the game but it was practice and there was no real competition. My mind started to wonder as I watched George fly about.

It had been our third year at Hogwarts when I was finally able to tell them apart. I wasn’t sure how I knew, I just did. I guess being around them as much as I was helped, but it was funny how I knew them apart when their own mother didn’t even know.

I was walking down to catch up with Fred and George when I heard Angelina talking to someone. I was going to say hi when I passed, but I saw she was talking to George and it looked like it was serious so I decided to catch up with her later. That was until I heard her say, “Just tell her! You never know, she might feel the same way. Besides, you two have known each other for a long time now.”

I silently hid myself back behind one of the stands and listened in on the conversation. I knew it was wrong, but I was a curious person and I wanted to know who the girl was. I was almost jealous of her and I didn't even know who she was! I had started to like George during our fifth year, but was too shy to tell him. Fred had found out only a few weeks ago and thought it was quite funny. I had told, well more like pleaded with him, not to say anything. He finally agreed not to when he saw that I really did like his brother- a lot. He thought it was cute, in an odd way and that’s exactly what he had told me.

“Yea, I know, but I just- I don’t know. I don’t want to be-” I heard George say.

“Rejected?” Angelina asked him, “I don’t think she would reject you. In fact, I’m sure of it, you two are perfect for each other.”

“You really think so?”

“Yea, I mean you go and cause mischief and she’s always there to save your arse.” She told him.

I wondered who this girl was. I was thinking about who else the twins hung out with when they did their pranks or just going to class. I could only think of Lee Jordan, who was also one of their best mates (and was definitely out of the question) and of course there was Angelina, but she seemed like she knew who he was talking about, so it couldn’t have been her. But I couldn’t think of any other girls who would get George Weasley out of trouble. Hermione almost lived to get them in trouble or at least have some way to stop them from pranking all the first years and other helpless students.

“Hey Holly!” I heard Lee call.

I jumped from my place and saw Lee walking towards me, “Hey there.” I said.

“What are you up too?” he asked me and then he motioned for us to both walk.

“Just heading down to see everyone.” I said, as I started to walk next to Lee towards the castle. We had only walked about ten feet when we heard Angelina calling out after us.

“Oi! Wait up guys!” She yelled, running to catch up with us with George right behind her.

Lee and I both stopped in our tracks and waited as George finally joined our group. They started to talk about Quidditch and how everything went. Lee had been watching and “practicing” announcing for the team as he normally did. He always said that he didn’t want to mess up during the actual games that’s why he needed to practice. I honestly just thought he was trying to find a way out of doing work.

“I thought you guys did great. I’m sure you’ll crush Hufflepuff when you play them tomorrow.” I declared to the group.

“There’s our optimistic Holly that we all know and love.” I heard Fred say, coming up from nowhere. I rolled my eyes at him as he linked his arms with mine. He started to skip and I had no choice but to follow him. I heard laughter coming from behind us and turned my head to see everyone smiling and laughing- everyone but George Weasley.

We continued to skip until we were inside and Fred let go of me. I hit him playfully and he started to make a big deal out of it, saying that I had hurt him and that he should probably go and see Madam Promphy. I rolled my eyes at him once again and dragged him into the Great Hall to get some food to eat.

I was sitting inbetween the twins, like I normally did. Except today everyone seemed super quiet.

“Guys! Guess what?” I heard Lavender ask her friends. I rolled my eyes. That girl got on my nerves.

“What?” I heard her friends ask, eager to hear what she had to say. Probably more gossip to go around.

“I have a Valentine for tomorrow!” She exclaimed.

I looked up from my lunch and coughed. Fred quickly began patting my back to help me and I glared at him to stop, which he soon did smiling. Tomorrow was Valentine’s day? Oh joy. That just means couples will be everywhere snogging each other and acting all lovey dovey. Brilliant.

Then it clicked, today was the thirteenth of February. “Guys- I didn’t even realize tomorrow was the fourteenth.” I told my small group of friends.

“Well, now that you do… have anyone in mind that you might want to ask to be your Valentine?” Angelina asked me, winking.

I shook my head, blushing, “No, besides I think I’d be too embarrassed to ask someone,” I told her truthfully, “Do you?”

“I already have one.” She said, with a huge grin on her face.

I smiled back at her, of course she would. “Who is it?”

“Oh, you know the seventh year Thomas?” she asked.

I nodded my head, “You introduced me to him quite a bit ago.” I informed her.

“Oh, yeah that’s right- I did. Well anyways we were talking for a bit and yesterday he asked me. He said that he thought it was the perfect time to ask and well the rest is history. Speaking of that I should go.” She said, and stood up, taking another bite out of her sandwich.

“See ya later!” I called after her. She waved in recognition and I watched her as she walked out.

“I should probably get going too.” Lee said, standing up. Fred followed his lead and also got up.

“Yea, me too. I’ll see you guys later.” He said and winked at me.

I took a bite out of my salad but I had lost my appetite.

“So, how have you been?” I heard George ask.

I turned and looked at him, “Eh, can’t complain,” I told him, “You?”

“You can complain.” He told me, turning to look at me with a serious look.

I laughed, “I know, but it’s not like anyone would listen anyways. And it’s all stupid.”

“I’m sure it’s not stupid- you just think it is because it’s you.” He told me.

I shrugged, “You never told me how you’ve been.” I noted, looking at him. His hair had grown a lot longer and he needed to cut it. But in a way it looked kind of cute. The way it fell into his eyes, without covering them completely.

“Good, stressed, but good.”

“Awe, why are you stressed?” I asked.

“Well, you see…oh never mind. Forget it.” George said, as he looked away from me and at his food.

I sighed, lately our conversations had been a bit awkward. We never had actual conversations anymore- just small chatter and it got on my nerves. I didn’t even know what to talk about with him anymore.

“Hey Holly! You said you needed some help with your potions homework yesterday and I don’t have anything to do right now, so if you’d like I can help you.” My friend Tiffany told me, walking towards me.

I smiled at her, “That would brilliant!” I exclaimed, “Hey I’ll see you later alright?” I asked George, as I patted his shoulder while getting up to follow Tiffany to the Gryffindor tower.

“This is all so stupid!” I exclaimed, throwing my head back on the couch. I had been at my homework for over three hours and I wasn’t even close to being finished. In fact, I was still working on my potions essay. I hated when Professor Snape gave us essays that had to be a certain length. They were always so long and there was never enough to say about the topic. In fact, I was basically making up most of the stuff I was jotting down and thanks to my very creative mind, most of it sounded pretty legit- if I do say so myself.

“Well, maybe one day it’ll come in handy.” Tiffany told me.

“Yea, and I’ll thank him so much for putting me through all this.” I replied, being sarcastic.

“Well, why don’t we take a little break from it, clear our minds.”

“Sounds like the best idea I’ve heard all day.” I let her know. We both got up from the floor and sat up on the couch. We chatted for a little bit until everyone started to head up to bed.

“Is it really that late?” I asked.

“Seems that way,” She said, then yawned, “Let’s finish your essay real quick then we can go and get some sleep.”

“Don’t worry about it- I think I can finish the rest.” I told her, and picked up my parchment from the table.

“You sure?” she asked.

“Yea, I’m sure. Besides, I think I’ve already made enough stuff up.” I laughed.

She laughed with me and then told me goodnight, heading up to get some sleep. I stared at my essay for a bit until I finally decided to pick up my quill, dip it in the ink, and write.

I had written one paragraph in the last hour and was getting frustrated with myself. I had other homework to do too and I knew it just wasn’t going to get done. I groaned out in frustration and hit my head on the table that I was working at.

I heard laughter behind me and turned around to see George. I glared at him, but he kept laughing. I sighed and looked away from him.

“Hey you alright?” he asked me, sitting down next to me and putting his arm around me.

I leaned into him completely and began crying, I was so stressed right now and I had reached my point. I started to vent to him, just letting everything out. And I mean everything.

“And I j-just want to tell him, b-b-but I’m too s-scared.” When I realized I had pretty much confused my feelings to him without really confusing I freaked. I pulled my face away from his shoulder and tried to move from his embrace, but George kept me in place.

“Well who is this lucky guy?” he asked me. I felt him start to play with my hair. I had left my red hair down putting on a headband to keep my hair out of my face.

“No one.” I muttered. I was silently cursing myself and feeling very embarrassed by what I had just done.

“Well, I think that you should tell him.” George said.

I pulled my head away, just enough so that I could look up at him. His green eyes were slightly covered by his hair and I wanted to brush them out of his face so I could see them more clearly. But I was too scared to do such a thing. Instead I gave him a weird look.

“Well, I mean that guy would have to be stupid not to see how beautiful, intelligent, and amazing you are.” He told me, looking straight into my own blue eyes.

I blushed at what he had just told me. I didn’t know what to say to that, no one (well besides my parents) had told me I was beautiful. I knew I was smart and a bit nerdy but I would never call myself intelligent- I left that to Hermione Granger. I remained quiet, just looking at the one Weasley twin.

He continued, “I mean, we’ve grown up together here at Hogwarts and any guy would be lucky to have you as their girlfriend.”

I found myself saying under breath, “If only you knew who I was talking about.” Apparently he heard me because he responded.

“I don’t, I’m just speaking for whoever it may be. Do you have any plans to ask him to be your Valentine?”

I shook my head, I didn’t even know that it was tomorrow until this afternoon and I had already overheard Angelina and him talking about him fancying a girl. I didn’t want to risk anything, especially since I knew he did like someone. “No, I didn’t really think much about it. Do you?”

“Yea, I do, but now I’m not so sure if I’ll go through with them.”

“Oh but you must!” I exclaimed to him, “I’ll help you if you want. Who is the person?”

It was silent for awhile. George had stopped looking down at me and was now staring at the red wallpaper behind me. I then heard him chuckle, “You.”

I was shocked. I wasn’t expecting that. But I thought I had heard wrong, “I’m sorry what was that?”

“I like you, Holly, I have since our third year. This wasn’t exactly how I wanted to tell you though and I understand if you don’t share-”

This was all I needed to hear from him before I silenced him with a kiss. He wasted no time and was soon kissing me back. I felt the fireworks go off and my lips tingled from his kisses. I pulled apart when I heard the clock strike twelve.

“Will you, Holly Bell, be my Valentine?” George Weasley asked me.

“Of course I will!” I told him and we kissed again.

That night George and I fell asleep on the couch cuddling. We were woken up in the morning by our friends making fun of us, especially Fred- who had known that we both liked each other and had a plan if George hadn’t asked me by noontime to be his. I laughed along with my friends and George and I had the best day. Valentine's day will forever be our anniversary.

Hullo everyone. I know it has been awhile since I've been on here and have written or updated a story.  But I'm back and hopefully I'll be able to write better stories. I was going through my other ones and I've decided to take them down for now. I might put them back up after editing and what not, but I really don't know.

But, I hope you enjoy this little one-shot. Please let me know what you thought of this though please. And thank you!
