I do not own any of the characters you recognize in this story! They belong to JK Rowling.

As I walked into the living room, a big owl flew into the room. Crookshanks immediately began to hiss, but stayed on the ground.

"Come on, Crookshanks. Don't be so rude." I walked to the owl, who was now standing on top of a bookcase and looked as if it might fall of any second, but it remained there, using all his might not to get anywhere near the red cat. I took the letter from his leg and it flew away as fast as it could, almost hitting the wall.
I looked at the envelope, but only saw my name on it. I turned it around and opened it, taking out the letter.

"Dear Hermione Granger,

You have been invited to the fifth anniversary, on which we celebrate the End of the Dark Times.
This will take place in New Zealand and you will stay in the "Gesley Hotel for Witches and Wizards".
We will expect you on the 1st of May in the Great Hall of the Ministery, from where we will all leave by Floo, and your stay in the hotel will be seven days. Every witch and wizard who had experienced the War has been invited.

If you already have plans in this week and are not able to attend this anniversary, we would like you to inform this to Miss Brown, dep. Ministery matters and others.

We have also added a program of the daily activities.

We hope to see you in New Zealand.

Yours sincerely,

Geoffrey Campbell, Minister of Magic"

I smiled, while reading the program, this might be fun. But why would someone plan a week for an anniversary? Typical Lavender. I still don't get how Ron could possibly want to be with her again. I sighed, but pushed the thought aside.

The next day, at the Ministery.

We all had a break and where eating and discussing things, when someone shouted: "And? How do you like my idea for the anniversary?" Lavender, while she walked out of the elevator, said. She walked so fast that papers were flying off the tables everywhere she walked past. People scowled at her, but she didn't notice a thing. She walked to Ron, who was sitting next to me and asked him again, wrapping her arms around him: "So? What do you think of our anniversary trip to New Zealand?"

"Gre.. Great, Laf. I love it."

"Yeah, I thought so already." She kissed him on the lips.

"Ugh, please just do that at home, " I said, not wanting to waste my break by watching these two making out.

Lavender turned her head to me and looked me with an annoyed expression. "Well, what do you think of it then?"

"Think of what?" Someone else said, while sitting into the chair at the other side of me. It was Malfoy.

"Of the anniversary party I have planned for us," Lavender answered. "I guess you also have received an invitation?"

"No, I don't think so. What is this anniversary party about?"

"Ow, then something must have gone wrong, but without it, you can't come with us. We celebrate that the Drak Times had ended. It's the fifth time now, that we celebrate it."

"I had never been invited to one," Malfoy remarked.

I started to feel that Lavender had never invited him on purpose, but I could understand that. He being a former Death Eater, could just make everything about as uncomfortable as it can be. Even Goyle and Crabbe had never been invited.
I was just hoping that Lavender would not invite him this year either and that Malfoy would just forget it, when Lavender looked at me and suddenly seemed to have changed her mind.

"Here," she took a letter out of her bag and gave it to Malfoy. I was a bit surprised by it, when I saw that it was an invitation.

He, also a bit surprised by it, took it and asked: "What is it?"

"An invitaion to the anniversary party. And I'm really sorry that you never received an invitation in the previous years." She didn't really look sorry about this, but I didn't know what her plan was, though I knew she must have one.

A few days later I arrived with my baggage and bags in the Great Hall of the Ministery. I had left Crookshanks at my neighbour, who was a nice old lady, with quite a lot of cats, and whom Crookshanks really seemed to like.

"Baggage, bags and other things here, please," someone was shouting. I looked around and saw a quite a lot of people starting to gather at the place where the man was shouting to drop their stuff.
When I came closer I saw many familiar faces.

"Luna, Neville!" I shouted when I saw my old classmates.

"Hey, Hermione. How are you?" Luna, Neville and another man walked towards me.

"I'm fine, thanks. How are you guys? And this is...?" I looked at the man, who was now standing next to Luna.

"Oh, Hermione, I'd like you to meet Rolf Scamander. We're... engaged."

"Oh! Nice to meet you! And that's great, Luna!" I was surprised, but happy for her. "How are you Neville?"

"I'm fine..." but he was interupted by Luna.

"He misses his girlfriend Hannah Abbott, " she said in a dreamy voice.

"Hannah? You're dating Hannah Abbott?" I didn't mean to make him uncomfortable, but he became red and started to stutter: "Yeah, uhm... She's..."

"Ow, stop it, Neville, I didn't mean to make you so uncomfortable. But it's great that you have found someone. Why isn't she here?"

"Well, she couldn't come. She has to work in the Leaky Cauldron. She's the landlady," he explained.

"Ahah," I said.

"Bags, please," a man said. I handed him my bags and turned around to go back to Luna and Neville, but I bumped into someone.

"Ouch, sorry," I said.

"It's Alright." It was Malfoy.

"Ow," I was a bit surprised. "Hello, I thought you wouldn't come."

He snorted. "Yes, well, I first did think of not coming, but then -- "

"Draco! Oh, there you are. I was looking for you." Narcissa Malfoy pushed herself through the crowd with two suitcases. "Can you drop these too? Your father didn't want to be in this crowd. Too much people, he thinks. Thanks, dear."

She handed hime the suitcases and then saw me. "Oh, hello, you are Hermione Granger, aren't you?" her voice suddenly becoming cold and disdaining.

I was quite surprised to see her here and she also seemed surprised to see me around her son.

"Yes, I am. How are you, Mrs. Malfoy?" I asked politely. But she seemed to ignore me.

"I guess I'll see you around in New Zealand then," I said after an awkward silence.

"See you," Draco said.

I walked back to find my friends and some other people too, who I hadn't seen for quite some time now.

"Harry, Ginny!" I yelled, when I saw the man with dark hair, standing next to a woman with red hair.

"Hermione! How are you? Oh, it has been such a long time! How is Crookshanks?"
Ginny immediately started to ask questions when she saw me.

I smiled and wanted to answer her, but Harry laughed and said: "Come on, you have just seen her one second and you already start to ask her about her whole life."

"Well, that is at least polite," said Ginny disgruntled.

"Wedon't have to be polite to each other, Ginny," I told her.

"Well, then I'm just curious," she said.

We all laughed.

Ten minutes later a man shouted instructions.

"People, in a few seconds you can start going to the fireplaces and leave for the Gesley Hotel in New Zealand. For the name of the destination: just say Gesley Hotel. Please try to help others who have never used the Floo Network. Thank you for your attention."

I walked towards one of the fireplaces, but I could see that there were already ten people standing at every fireplace. Luckily, this won't take too long.

When I arrived at the hotel, I could still see people coming out of other fireplaces. I checked my clothes for any ashes, but it was still ass clean as usual.

"Hey, don't stand there, there are still people coming out of this fireplace," said a man, behind me, annoyed.

I apologized and moved out of the way as quickly as I could. Then I looked around me. The hotel was very luxurious, I could feel the soft carpet under my feet and I saw shining decorations all around me. There were a lot of wizards and witches, but also other magical beings, like goblins, ghosts and poor house elves, who had come with their masters.

I assumed our stuff had already been brought to our rooms and I queued up at the reception. When it was finally my turn, I asked the receptionist for my room number and key.

"Ahh, yes, Granger... Let me see. You have room 531. It's on the fifth floor. You don't need a key, just flick your wand and whisper this." She gave me a paper with the words: elephantus magnus. I thought this password was quite weird, since it meant big elephant. I was just about to thank her and go to my room, when she said: "Oh, and Miss Granger, I see here that you are sharing the room with someone else."

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Mr. Draco Malfoy."

My eyes widened. "What?!" I said, just like the man behind me, that was going to have to share a room with me did.
