The Deviation

Severus found himself in a merky, wet, cave holding Nimueh's hand.

But before he could properly survey the place, Nimueh whispered in his ear, "Svefn hart." Severus felt his eyes instantly grow heavy as he collapsed upon the rocky floor into sleep.

When he woke, he found himself bound, with his hands tied behind his back. His wand, once again, had been taken. Nimueh was no where to be seen, of course the cave was dark so Severus could barely see anything.

"What do you want?" He called into the darkness. No one answered. But suddenly, he felt a stinging in his head. Memories of his past were brought into his consciousness. Being a skilled occlumens, Severus calmed himself and pushed the thoughts out of his mind. The attack came again, but Severus blocked them out again.

Nimueh appeared before him out of thin air.

"How are you doing that?" She asked, frustrated.

"Doing what?" Severus asked sarcastically.

She slapped him hard across the face. Her long fingernails scraped against his cheek.

"The same way you try to break into my mind, I suppose," Severus said.

"Hm." She stood in front of him, wondering what to do with him. "Do you know why I brought you here?" She asked.

Severus sighed. "Obviously not." Nimueh glared at him.

"There hasn't been a warlock powerful enough to take on those guards besides Merlin and I in a hundred years. You show up out of no where. I had to have you," she said. She kneeled down next to Severus. She ran her lips over where she had scratched him on his cheek. "I want to dissect you, to know how you work," she whispered.

"Why don't you just ask?" Severus said angrily.

"I suppose now I will have to ask, being that you somehow prevented me from reading your mind," she said playfully, pulling away from Severus' face.

She pointed her finger at him, Severus braced himself. "Sannindi!" She cried. A glowing red orb shot from her finger tip and hit Severus' forehead.

"Where do you come from?" She asked.

"London, I come from London," Severus said, unable to control himself.

Nimueh thought for a moment.

"When do you come from?" She asked in a quieter tone.

"1980," Severus said.

"1980? But that's not right. It's  991 now," she said thoughtfully. "How did you get here?"

"Timeturner--wand," Severus said painstakingly.

"Your wand?" She pulled out Severus' black wand from her robes. "Show me," she said, handing the wand to him. She realized he was still bound. "Ogorr," she said, the ropes undid themselves.

Severus snatched the wand from her hands.

"Petrificus totalus!" he shouted. She became stiff like a board and fell to the ground. "You may be able to make me speak the truth, but you can't control me," Severus spat.

Oddly enough, his spell didn't last long on Nimueh. Before he could decide what to do next, she came back to her senses.

He pointed his wand at her and she her finger at him.

"I think we can come to an agreement," she said seductively. The two circled around each other, prepared for combat.

"How?" Severus asked defiantly.

"You want to go home." she said.

"Yeah. Can you get me back to my time?"

"No. I cannot do that alone. I need another -- I need Merlin. If you help me to get Merlin, I can get you home," she said.

Severus stopped circling her. With his wand still raised, he said, "I can do that."

She put her hand down to her side.

"Then we have a deal," she said.
