One True Love: Acceptance by DracoGal
Chapter 17 : New Relationships
Rating: 15+Chapter Reviews: 3

Background:   Font color:

I woke up the next morning with tear-stained cheeks. Was I crying last night? I glanced up at Draco and saw him sleeping soundly. His arm was draped over me, so I couldn’t get out of bed. I turned myself around as quietly as possible so I didn’t wake him. I buried my head in his chest and his shirt was wet. Wait, so I did cry? I don’t remember doing that. I couldn’t bear him sleeping anymore, so I reached up and kissed Draco softly on the lips. “I could totally get used to waking up like that,” he mumbled. I giggled and sat up. “Where are you going?” he asked as he pulled me back down and kissed me passionately. I got lost in the moment until I felt the wetness of Draco’s shirt.

“Draco?” I asked as I pulled away.

“Yes, love?”

“Was I crying last night? I woke up and had dried tears on my cheeks and your shirt was wet, but I don’t remember crying.” I sat up and he wrapped his arms around me.

“You were up probably half the night sobbing.”

“About what?”

“About the fact that you had a horrible Christmas.” he replied as he let go of me and got off the bed.

“Oh Draco…” He shook his head.

“No, I get it. Anyway, I have to get in the shower.” With that, he walked into the bathroom and slammed the door shut. I thought about talking to him, but decided against it figuring he wanted time alone. I laid back down on the bed, and felt sleep overtake me.

I woke up an hour later and found a note on Draco’s pillow.

I went down to breakfast.

I sighed and got up from bed and got dressed. I made my way down to the Great Hall and saw Draco sitting with Blaise and Rose. I smiled and went to sit with them. When I took my usual place next to Draco, he immediately got up and stormed out of the hall. I sighed and got a piece of toast to eat. “Aren’t you going to go talk to him?” Rose asked.

“Why? He won’t even listen to me; let alone stay in the same room as me.” I replied.

“Well, if you make him listen….”

“Rose, baby, no one can get Draco Malfoy to do anything; except maybe his parents.” Blaise said. She gave me a pleading look and I just shrugged my shoulders, going back to eating my toast. “Oh, and Nat, I’m having a New Year’s Eve party, and I wanted to know if you wanted to come.”

“Yeah, I’ll come.” He smiled and shoved the rest of the food in his mouth before leaving. Naturally, Rose followed; leaving me alone until a person I wasn’t expecting to talk to for the rest of my life sat across from me.

“Hey Nat,” Harry said, as if nothing happened between the two of us.

“Hey, what’s up?” I asked, playing along to find out what he was up to.

“Oh, not much; I just noticed that Malfoy got up and left you without a word. Are you two okay?” I furrowed my eyebrows.

“Why do you even care? You hate me, remember?”

“Nat, what are you talking about? I don’t hate you!”

“Well, then why do you call me a traitor and won’t even look at or talk to me anymore?”

“I’m talking to you right now, aren’t I?”

“Yeah, but it’s probably just to find out if we broke up. To answer that question; no, we haven’t. And no matter what you say, it won’t ever happen!” I exclaimed.

“Nat, that’s not why I came over here.”

“Why do I have a hard time believing that?!” I asked as I got up from the table and stormed out of the Great Hall. I walked outside and saw Draco sitting by a tree next to the lake. I went over and sat down across from him and as he was about to get up, I grabbed his arm. “Draco, I had a wonderful Christmas.”

“Why do I have a hard time believing that?!” he sneered.

“I spent it with you; I had a wonderful Christmas.”

“Then why did I have to hold you half the night as you cried about how you wanted your precious brother back and how not being with him made your Christmas horrible?!”

“Well that was then, and this is now!” I exclaimed and got up from the ground and stormed back to the castle.

“Nat, what’s wrong?” Harry asked as I walked into the Entrance Hall.

“Shove it up your arse, Harry!” I yelled as I went past him. He grabbed me by the arm and spun me around to face him.

“What the hell did I do?” I gave him a glare that could kill.

“Oh, I don’t know; there are a ton of things you did! First, you’re a controlling prat my whole life! Then, when I fall in love with someone, you call me a traitor. You’ve also tried to attack me on several occasions!” He sighed.

“Look, that’s what I’ve been trying to apologize for! I never meant that, and….”

“Save it, Harry! If you didn’t mean those things, you would have never said or done them! You know what, I’m done! Why do I ever waste my tears on you? You are totally not worth it!”

“Are you saying you don’t want me in your life?” he asked angrily.

“Yes! That’s exactly what I’m saying. Unless you can accept the fact that I can make my own decisions and that I have my own life, then I want nothing to do with you!” I exclaimed. At first, he was shocked, but that quickly changed to anger.

“You are a complete bitch; you know that?!”

“Well, you’re an arse-hole!” I yelled back. He growled at me and stormed off.

“What was that all about?” I heard a voice behind me ask. I turned around and saw Draco looking at me in concern.

“Why do you care?!”

“Nat….” I shook my head and ran off in the direction of the Room of Requirement. When I got there, I ran in the room and jumped onto the bed and cried. I heard the door creak open, and the weight shifted on the bed. “Nat…”

“Save it, Draco. You don’t care!” He sighed and began to rub my back.

“Of course I care, love. Please tell me what’s wrong.” I sighed.

“I’m done with Harry being an arse, so I told him that I didn’t want anything to do with him anymore.” He picked me up from my laying position and pulled me into a hug.

“Aw, I’m sorry. You could always go apologize…”

“I’m not apologizing to that arse!” I exclaimed.

“Wait, so you’re not crying because you’re upset at the fact that you did that?”

“Then why are you crying?” I laughed.

“I have absolutely no idea.”

“Well then stop it.” he said as he wiped my tears away. I smiled and kissed him. I gasped and pretty much jumped out of his arms.

“What’s wrong?”

“We’re fighting and I just kissed you.” He laughed.

“What makes you think we’re fighting?”

“You got mad at me today.” I said. He sighed.

“I wasn’t mad at you.”

“You sure acted like you were.”

“I wasn’t mad. Trust me.”

“Then why did you get all mad when I asked why I was crying last night? And why did you storm off when I came down for breakfast?” He sighed.

“I was just confused and frustrated. I didn’t understand why at the end of the day, you had a crappy Christmas when you seemed so happy.”

“Draco, I didn’t have a crappy Christmas. It was the best Christmas EVER! I just, I don’t know, get overly emotional sometimes. But I can promise you that I’m never going to cry over that arse that is unfortunately my brother again.”

Draco and I spent the rest of the day together. We walked around the ground and sat by the lake just holding each other and talking. I saw Pansy a few times, but Draco didn’t so I didn’t bring anything up. It was about dinner time when we ran into Harry again. “Hello bitch.”

“Don’t you dare call my girlfriend that!” Draco yelled.

“I can call my sister anything I want to, Malfoy. She is one.” Draco lunged at Harry, but I managed to pull him back and led him to the Room of Requirement. When we got there, I pushed him onto the couch and sat next to him. He hung his head in his lap and pulled at his hair.

“I could kill him!”

“Dray, baby, you need to relax.” He looked up and smirked at me.

“Yeah; it sounds sexy.” He laughed. “Sexy, huh? Well, I can show you how sexy I can be.” he said seductively.

“Maybe later,” I said with a smile, and got up from the couch. “I’m starving! Let’s go down to dinner.” “You’re no fun.” he whined as he followed me.

When Draco and I went into the Great Hall, all the Gryffindors gave me dirty looks. I smiled and waved at them mockingly and followed Draco to sit with Blaise and Rose. When we sat down, Draco and Blaise immediately began talking about something that they must have been talking about earlier. I sighed and turned to Rose. “So, how are you?”

“Oh, I’m just fantastic! I can’t wait until Ginny and I go shopping for Blaise’s party!”

“Oh, you two are going shopping?” I asked.

“Yeah, I figured since we were both going to the party, we should shop together for it!” I laughed.

“You’ve become good friends with Ginny, haven’t you?” She smiled.

“Of course; she’s amazing and it also helps that she’s dating my cousin!”

“Wait; her and Jeremy are going out?! Since when?”

“Oh, since Christmas Eve; they got together after you and Draco left.” I laughed.

“Leave it to Ginny to break up with a guy and get a whole new boyfriend in only two hours.” She laughed.

“Yeah, well they’re cute together. Besides, I know Jeremy’s going to treat her right.” I nodded. “So, are you going to the party on New Year’s?”

“Yeah, but I don’t have anything to wear!”

“Come shopping with me and Ginny, then! She was going to ask you to come when she saw you tonight.”

“Okay, I’ll come! When are we going?”

“Friday. We are going to look absolutely gorgeous!” Rose exclaimed. Blaise chuckled and turned to her.

“Babe, you already look gorgeous.”

“Oh Blaise, we’re talking about how we’re going to look stunning for your party!” He laughed, and kissed her on the cheek.

“So, are you two going shopping for it?” Draco asked.

“Yep; and Ginny’s coming too.” I replied. I smiled and looked over at the Gryffindor table to look for Ginny, but instead, I saw Pansy talking to Harry. Whoa, what the heck?!?!?! “What the heck is Pansy doing over there with Harry?!?!” I exclaimed. Draco turned to look at them and his jaw dropped.

“Uh, I have no idea. Oh, here Pansy comes now; let’s ask her. Hey Pansy!” She turned to us and walked over.

“Yes, Draco?”

“What were you doing talking to Potter???”

“That, Malfoy, is none of your business! What Harry and I talk about doesn’t concern you!”

“Whoa, you’re on a first name basis with him now? And what do you mean by talk? You mean to say that you talk to him a lot?” Draco inquired.

“Yes, I do! Do you have a problem with that?”

“No, I just thought I’d never live to see the day!” He said while chuckling. She rolled her eyes and stormed off.

“I wonder what’s going on between those two. It didn’t look like they were arguing. It looked like they were having a friendly chat.” Blaise said.

“I have no idea, but I’ll ask Harry about it tonight.” I said.

“I thought you and Harry weren’t on speaking terms.” Rose stated.

“Yeah, but he’s still my brother. I have a right to know what’s going on in his life.”

After dinner, I went up to the common room to find Harry sitting on the couch staring at the fire. “Hey Harry.” He looked at me strangely.

“I thought you weren’t talking to me. I thought you wanted nothing to do with me.”

“I just have to ask you a question. Then I’ll go back to ignoring you, if you want.” He rolled his eyes.

“Okay, what’s this question?” I sighed.

“What were you talking to Pansy about at dinner?”

“What I talk to my girlfriend about doesn’t concern you.” he said irritably.

“WHAT? YOU’RE GOING OUT WITH PANSY?!” He jumped up off the couch and put his hand over my mouth.

“Shh! Not so loud. Yes, we are going out.” he hissed. He took his hand off my mouth and the questions came running out.

“Since when? Why? How?” He sighed and sat me down on the couch.

“We started going out right before Christmas. We wanted to keep it a secret for a while and we just decided to make it public. It’s going to be a big shock to people.”  My mouth hung open.

“Big shock? It’s going to  be a HUMUNGOUS shock! Do Ron and Hermione know?” He shook his head.

“No; well I think Hermione figured it out. Ron’s going to be peeved.”

“But if he’s your true friend, he’ll learn to accept it and be happy for you.” He furrowed his eyebrows at me. “Why are you giving me advice and being nice when you want nothing to do with me?” I sighed.

“Because even though I hate Pansy with a passion, I still accept your relationship with her; I want you to be happy.” He rolled his eyes. “And now that you see I accept you and Pansy together, can you accept me and Draco?” He scoffed.

“No!” I got up from the couch and started for my dorm.

“Okay fine then! Enjoy Pansy and your stupid, pathetic life!” I walked into the dormitory, changed into my pajamas, and fell onto my bed instantly welcoming sleep.

A/N: You didn’t see that coming did you?! BAHAHAHA!!! So, what do you think of Harry and Pansy? Are they really in love or do you think it is just a hoax? Please review!!! :D :D
