Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Let me just wipe my eyes clean and re-evaluate the scenario I just witnessed, even though all I wanted to do was wipe it from my memory.
JOEY AND AMA??
Even after a day I was still flabbergasted by it (JOEY AND AMA!?)how the hell did that come about??? Was it not only a couple of days ago he was spouting his love for Lily and now I catch him with Ama?
I really really could not understand it.
"Alix, I don't get why you're so angry about this," Tia said, as I got ready to meet India and Alfie, "it really doesn't have anything to do with you".
"Nothing to do with me?" I said raising my eyebrows, "I have caught yet another couple who should not be together!".
"Well, to be fair they weren't doing anything, just talking" Tia reminded me.
I sighed, "Yeah but Tia, what would of happened if Rose and I didn't interrupt them?" I winced "actually I don't wanna think about that".
Tia put down her hairbrush, and looked at me, "In this case, I don't think you or Rose should tell Lily, he is allowed to talk to girls Alix, and you have no evidence that he and Ama were going to do anything".
She did have a point, I just didn't get Ama! What was her goal in life, to mess with all my friends and their boyfriends/ex's? If she even dares goes near James I swear to Merlin I will end her.
"Okay, I won't do anything, I'll let it go" I muttered, giving myself one more glance in the mirror I turned to Tia, "now, how do I look?".
Considering that India was always in full supermodel look when I saw her, I didn't want to look, well, trampish. So today I had curled my hair slightly, putting half of it up with a few bangs loose. Smoky eyes and I even pinched some of Ami's foundation and blusher, a white t-shirt and my black waistcoat and my newest blue jeans with my black open toed heels.
"I think you look stunning" Tia smiled, "and James won't be able to keep his eyes off you, or his hands for that matter".
"Albus won't know where else to look when he sees you Tia" I grinned. Tia was wearing one of those cute skirts with the denim top and flowy white material underneath with a strappy white top and her hair loose. She never needed makeup, she was beautiful without any cosmetic help.
"Okay, lets get the gang" I said smiling, Tia linked arms and we headed down to the Great Hall, where Ami, Devon, Rose, Albus and James were waiting. I kinda worried about bombarding India and Alfie with too many people, but after a quick consultation we all agreed they'd stay half an hour then leave leaving me and James with them.
"Look who's finally here" Ami called out, "don't worry we haven't been waiting for like forever!".
"Oh, is my shining sun of a girlfri-" James started but when he turned and saw me the rest of the comment died on his lips.
I stood there fiddiling with hair, I had never dressed up really for James, just for his Masquerade Ball where we fell in love (sigh) and I hardly put on makeup. "Do I look that ugly" I laughed nervously, wondering if any of it smudged despite the nifty little spell that Devon, Queen of all things Girly despite playing Quidditch, had given me this morning.
"No, you look ..." his eyes travelled down to my feet then back up to meet my eyes, "so beautiful".
"Right answer" I giggled and gave him a big hug, how lucky was I dating this wonderful boy! And to think I spent six years denying my feelings.
But then the moment was ruined ..
"So, whats your cousin like?"
Lucas.Bloody.Brenner.
"You stay away from her" I said darkly, patting my pocket where my wand was, "or else!".
Lucas smirked, knowing full well I couldn't say why I was completely mad at him. I don't think me admitting he told me he loved me in front of my friends and boyfriend would be a good idea.
"What can I say the Halliwell's have bags of charm," he raised an eyebrow, "I'll be like a moth to a flame".
"He has a point there babe" James grinned kissing my cheek, "you are completely irrisistable".
"Valid point, but stay away from her," I raised an eyebrow, "I've been learning the sacred Bat Boget hex so watch it Brenner".
He held up his hands in mock surrender then winked at me before turning to Albus, I glared at his back, and James nuzzled into my neck, "Oh, he's only teasing love," he whispered, "just ignore him".
I tried to just relax but I couldn't, Lucas was the one thing that could end me and James ... and all I could think about now was the comment that Eve made to me ..
"No I didn't mean with James," she faced me and her smirk widened while she put on a mock innocent face "I meant with Lucas".
But she didn't know anything. She had no proof and hell will freeze over first before James believes her over me and I never kissed back, I didn't enjoy the kiss, I reacted like any girl who didn't like a kiss would.
So why was I still worried?
"Let's get a move on" Rose said, "I wanna meet these cousins".
"Yeah, lets go" James said, taking my hand and guiding me out of the courtyard. The sun was shining brightly and I smiled faintly at the sight of some fairies hovering around the fountain. It was a gorgeous day.
"So what are their names again?" Ami asked.
"India and Alfie".
Rose smiled "I always liked the name Alfie" she said wistfully. I couldn't help but feel slightly confused, as much as I wanted Rose and Scorpius back, but lately she and Joey were spending time together much to Lily's disgust and now she was thinking of hoooking up with my newly found cousin?
Horomones make us feel and do strange things.
We gave our names to the still-working Filch who dismissed us with a grunt, "What is his problem?" I asked as I climbed into a carriage with James, Albus and Tia.
"Not you love," James smirked, "he just doesn't like my family 'cause of my Dad".
Albus laughed, "Yeah, he still blames him for his cat being petrified, thats why he doesn't appear at all at parents night".
"Even though it was your Mum who did it?" Tia commented.
Albus shrugged, "What can I say, Mum was one disturbed little kid".
I leaned back against the chair and glanced at the scenery going by, James noticing my quietness took my hand, "Nervous?" he asked.
"Mhhm" I replied, "I've hardly ever had a family, it's always been me, Mum, Uncle Ricky and Grandpa Jack" I rolled my eyes "and Uncle Doug and Auntie Heather who aren't really family, and now I have family members crawling out the woodwork, I'm just worried".
James smiled, "You'll be fine, the great Alix Halliwell isn't worried by anyone, she can stand on her own two feet".
I gave him an unsure look, "But what if I can't? What if I fall over or something?".
James leaned over and kissed my forehead, "I'll be right there to pick you back up again".

Even with the threat of my nearly there Bat-Bogey Hex, Lucas Bloody Brenner still decided to flirt with India. Not that she minded, she wasn't exactly laughing at every joke but she was talking back to him, I could barely keep track of the conversation Alfie was trying to have with me. The others had left but instead of following in their stead, Lucas had decided to stay.
I wasn't jealous, (come on I had James!) but worried.
"Alix?" Alfie said waving his hand in front of my face, "you still with us?".
"What?" I snapped out of it, "yeah, go on what happened next?".
Alfie laughed, "I asked what subjects your doing, thats what happened next".
I blushed, James grinned, "Thats our Alix, she sometimes goes off in a daydream most times".
Tia smiled, "Sometimes? Try all the time".
Alfie gave his lopsided smile, "Oh I'm used to it," he indicated to India, "she's exactly the same" he glanced at our drinks, "ready for a top up?". I nodded and he took the tray back up to the bar where Meghan Longbottom and her friend Siobhan Clarity where eyeing Alfie with appreciation.
"Whats up with you?" Tia asked me in a low tone, so James and Albus wouldn't hear.
I raised my eyebrows, "Nothing".
Tia frowned, "Alix, I know you better than that, now tell me whats wrong".
I subtly pointed to where Lucas and India where talking quietly, she was drinking but the straw was halfway between her mouth and the table, she was too busy looking at Lucas and he had his glass half raised but just gazing at India. They looked the perfect couple.
"So what?" Tia said, "are you jealous?".
My head snapped around so quick I got a crick in my neck, "Jealous?"
"Well are you?"
"NO!"
"So stop worrying, India can look after herself".
Before I could retort, Alfie returned with the drinks, "By the way," he said, "who are the two girls up there at the bar?". He looked around and they both giggled into their hands and waved, he gave a half hearted attempt at a wave back and they acted as if he blew them a kiss.
"The owners daughter and her friend" I said, "kinda annoying but both okay".
"Well, I hope they understand the words, 'I'm in a commited relationship'"
I smiled at him, when Rose and Devon discovered this blonde, teenage hearthrob was off the market, they were quick to leave. I couldn't help but laugh at their horror stricken faces, but I suppose if Alfie wasn't my cousin I would be gutted he wasn't single.
"Oh they never do mate," James grinned, "I still get the ladies eyeing me up despite me being with this goddess right here". He nudged me and I wrinkled my nose at him and gave him a grateful smile.
"Love you too" I said kissing his cheek.
"Always babe" he winked.
"So I guess I don't have to give the whole 'hurt her and I'll hurt you then'?" Alfie said.
James smiled "Nah, your sister pretty much said it to me .... in the scariest way possible"
"Thats 'Dia for you" Alfie shrugged.
I smiled, "So, it was just you two growing up?".
"Yep, just me, India and Mum"
"What about your Dad?" I asked, "if you don't mind me asking".
Alfie shook his head, "Nah, I don't mind, like your Dad, Mum was forced into a marriage needless to say my Dad wasn't a very nice man, he hit her but she stayed because even though he was cruel to her he was a brilliant Dad to us. But one night he came back drunk and done his normal routine to Mum, I was older and tried to stop him and thats when he tried it on with me, Mum cursed him and got the Ministry involved" he took a sip of his drink.
"Oh Merlin, what happened to him after that?" Tia said, her eyes wide.
"Oh he's still alive, last I heard he was in France" Alfie shrugged "he tries to contact me and 'Dia but I can't forgive him for hurting Mum like that".
I nodded, "I'd be the same if it was me".
Turns out this little catch up was just what I needed, I found out things that made me feel more related to India and Alfie and my Dad even Aunt Ardelia. Like how India and I both have the same star sign, (Aries), Alfie and I turned out to be at the same nursery! Dad and I both hated candyfloss, (Wool, you are practically eating wool!) and Aunt Ardelia and I are both allergic to flobberworm slime, (not a glamourous allergy but a similarity all the same).
James, Albus and Alfie all clicked, Tia and India clicked and as much as I hate to admit it Lucas and India clicked and best of all I clicked with them. It turned out to be a brilliant day.
"Okay, I better head soon," James said glancing at his watch, "I have Quidditch Practice and if I'm going to win against Slytherin then I want to be in my tip top shape".
Albus snorted, "You don't stand a chance 'bruv"
"Well this round is on me" I waved away James and Alfie's objections, "my treat guys, no arguments okay?".
I headed up to the bar, "Same again Meghan, please".
Meghan came forward, "No problem Alix," she poured another five Butterbeers, "so your friend over there" she glanced at Alfie, "is he free?".
I smiled sadly, "Sorry Meghan, he's off the shelves"
"Damn, well you can't blame a girl for trying right?".
I glanced over to the table, Lucas and India were deep in discussion, leaning into each other a little bit, my lips twitched, yep, they really did click. Tia and Albus were laughing at each other's foam moustaches, Tia even more when Albus attempted to kiss it off, they really were perfect for one another. Alfie was speaking to James and James ... well James glanced up at me and smiled, I smiled back at him and he blew me a kiss.
"So cosy looking".
I looked behind me and saw Eve, she wasn't alone, she had her sister Grace and her boyfriend Kurt. "But sadly not for long" she said, pouting and making a sad face. I opened my mouth to respond but it clamped shut when I saw what was in her hand.
