Daphne Greengrass ran. She ran and ran. She could not stop running. She could not stop crying. Her straw colored braid swung behind her skinny form as she sprinted down the forests path. She had never said ‘I love you’ to anyone until five minutes ago. She hoped that moment would be prefect. She was wrong. She told him ‘I love you, I have always loved you’ and what did he do? Nothing. He just stood there staring at her as all of the other Slytherin laughed at her. She turned around and took to the stairs three at a time. She did not stop when the professors yelled. She kept going right into the Forbidden Forest. She was not even afraid of what lived in that forest all she cared about was getting away. Fast.

Daphne hated humiliation. She disliked being embarrassed. That is why she kept to her herself and her books. Books could not be mean to you. They were nice and offered a new world for you to climb into. Daphne told her books she loved them. If only they could talk back. She had never had a boyfriend. She used to be fine with that until everyone else started having boyfriends. Even her sister. She never thought boys attractive until she saw Blaise Zabini on the train at the start of term. She wanted very badly for him to tell her he loved her. Hold her tight. Kiss her. Be hers forever. But as she just experienced he did not want anything to do with her. She was to be known as the freak who thought Blaise would actually like her.

Daphne stopped for a second to regain her breath. She knew her bare feet were dirty. Her face sweaty. Her arms scratched and bloody. Her royal purple robes torn. She did not care. There was no one in the woods to see her. She looked around and saw a low branch that looked prefect to sit on.

She grabbed it and hoisted her small body into the part where the branch came out of the tree. She put her head in her hands and cried again.

She cried herself asleep and was awoken by a crack of a twig that sounded very near to where she was sleeping. Her head shot up and came face to face with Blaise.

“There you are,” he said softly running his hand through his short black hair.

“Why are you here?” Daphne said mad that her voice was horse and groggy.

“I came to find you, the woods are huge and you make no noise,” he said smiling slightly.

“I did not want to be found,” Daphne replied trying to scoot farther away from Blaise which was extremely hard since there was no more space between her and the tree.

“I am sorry, for just standing there,” Blaise said grabbing her arms softly.

“Its fine I am freak,” she replied tears coming up again.

“No you are not,” Blaise said stroking her face, “Maybe I think you are cute and funny. Maybe I want to do what bunnies do. Maybe I love you.”

Daphne’s hunter green eyes looked up into his light brown was as she replied, “What did you say?”

“I love you, I love you Daphne,” Blaise said kissing her softly on the lips.

“Really,” Daphne said softly her cheeks turning beet red.

“Yeah, I could scream because I love you so much.”

Daphne smiled and she launched into his arms. Blaise twirled her around and kissed her so passionately.

“Blaise I love you!” she said bending back and spreading her slender arms out as Blaise spun her around the clearing.

“Je t’aime!” Blaise whispered in Daphne’s ear which made her laugh.

“I am glad,” she whispered back kissing him, “I would love to do what bunnies do with you.”
