Lily and James sat were sprawled out on the floor in their room at Number 12 Grimmauld Place going over last minute wedding plans before their bachelor and bachelorette nights.
“We need to change the seating plans, James.” Lily said, her voice strained with stress as she pulled out the seating chart that James was extremely sick of seeing as they changed it nearly every day.
“But we just changed that this morning!” James exclaimed. Lily shot him a look that could’ve killed if her eyes were daggers.
“I don’t care, I just got a phone call from Alice and she said her and Frank had a fight so they’re going to need to be separated at the wedding!” She retorted. James sighed; Frank and Alice were the perfect couple, why would they need to fight?
“Lils, please, Alice and Frank are the perfect couple, give them until tomorrow morning they’ll be back to their lovey-dovey selves in no time.” James reasoned. Lily bit her lip and tossed the seating chart on the floor and James smiled, enveloping her into one of his famous bear hugs.
“Who cares if the wedding is a complete disaster? As long as we say ‘I do’ nothing else will matter.” He murmured into Lily’s soft red hair. Lily giggled at the sudden affection coming from James,
“James Potter, when did you become such a romantic?” She chuckled,
“The day you said you loved me,” He sighed happily and turned the love of his life’s face around so she was facing him. Lily kissed him, lingeringly and James’ lips turned up into smirk.
“I love you,” He mumbled against her lips,
“I love you too, Prongs.” A male’s voice came from the door way. The happy couple broke apart and stared at the door where one of James’ best friends, Remus, was standing.
“Aw, I know you do, Moony.” James laughed.
“It’s almost time to leave,” Remus said simply. By leave, he meant go to Diagon Alley.
James and his groom’s men had been assigned Diagon Alley to have their bachelor party that night. They were allowed anywhere in Diagon Alley for the whole night and would have to stay at a hotel for the night since the girls would be staying in Grimmauld Place.
The girls had all of Hogsmeade to have their bachelorettes night in and after they were done for the night they would be retreating back to Grimmauld Place for the night and be getting ready for the wedding in the morning.
Remus knelt down in front of the pair of lovers and picked up the seating chart.
“Who have you seated me next to?” He mused, searching for his name on the long rectangular shape that was supposed to be a diagram for the table that the bride, groom, bridal party and groomsmen would all sit.
“Next to Sirius, of course,” Lily snickered. Knowing Sirius he would be drunk before the main course was served –just like at Alice and Frank’s wedding.
“Lovely, I’ll keep him in check.” Moony said with a wink,
“Precisely why we sat him next to you.” James said.
“So who’s your maid of honour, Lils?” Remus asked as Peter walked into the room.
“Hey, what are you guys talking about?” Pete asked,
“Who Lils’ maid of honour is.” James piped up,
“Well you guys probably don’t remember her, I think you’ve met her once on my nineteenth birthday. Her name is Snow Wilde.” Lily replied and pulled out her purse and opened it to reveal a picture of Lily and a black-haired girl. She was gorgeous.
Remus whistled, “wow, is she single?”
“Yes, Remus, she’s single.” Lily laughed,
“Hey, I’m not asking on my behalf, I’m just wondering if I should keep Sirius on a leash too.” Remus chuckled.
The four of them laughed and talked about Snow a bit more. By the sound of it she was a very smart and successful girl. But there was one thing Lily didn’t mention; which school did she go to?
Did Snow go to Beauxbaton or did she go to Durmstrang? There was one thing Remus, James and Peter knew for certain; Snow hadn’t gone to Hogwarts.
When Sirius came up to the room to collect all the boys to head to Diagon Alley, Remus and Peter were betting on how long it’ll take him to get into Snow’s pants.
“Fifty galleons says it’ll be a week before Sirius succeeds.” Peter said,
“Nah, Snow sounds like a sensible girl, I think it’ll be about a month or so, even then it’ll be a booty call or they’ll be drunk off their arses.” Remus bet.
“So, it’s a bet?” Peter said, holding out his hand for Remus to shake it. Remus shook it to make it official,
“It’s a bet.” He agreed.
“Merlin, Moony, have we finally rubbed off on you, did I just hear you make a bet?” Sirius asked, popping up behind them. Remus jumped in fright and Peter laughed.
“Always been the jumpy one, eh Remus?” James called from across the room.
The rest of that night no one really remembered, well the girls anyway.
After all, what happens on the bachelor night, stays with the bachelors and what happened on the bachelorette night...isn’t remembered at all.
