It was a lovely summer's day and James Potter was lying on a sun lounger outside his home in the back garden relaxing enjoying the sun. He'd just finished celebrating his 14th birthday (the night before) and was catching a few minutes of peace and quiet (which was unusual when you have a little brother and sister who were twins and tended to be the most annoying brother and sister that a person can have.They pestered and tormented the life out of poor James non stop all the time). But his peace was shattered when out of the back door shot what looked like two streaks of lightening, and they were on a collision course with him. James only had time to put one foot on the ground before he was bowled over and was flung onto his back on the ground.
'Why you pesky little brats, just you wait until I catch you', he said while trying to untangle himself from the lounger.
But by the time he'd managed to rise, his brother and sister had disappeared, everything had happened so fast that James had been unable to see where the troublesome twosome had disappeared to.
Brushing himself down he muttered 'thank goodness I'll be going back to Hogwarts soon'.
Then as an after thought, he suddenly jerked upright and remembered (with a groan) that both of his siblings were starting their first year at Hogwarts whilst he was about to start his 4th year (Thank goodness he wouldn't be seeing much of them in school), he could still see a vision of the future and found that it was going to be a very differcult year for himself. And goodness knows what other poor person who crossed their path.
There was one day left before the Hogwarts Express was due to leave for school and there were a lot of last minute preparations to be done. Harry could be seen under a car bonnet trying to get the Ministry car (that he'd borrowed so that he could transport his brood to Kings Cross the next day) to work. Ginny his wife was trying to get the last minute washing done and also repair tears and rips that had mysteriously appeared in the childrens clothing.
Where upon the children themselves were packing their trunks with any items they had forgotten. And the twins were making a harsh job of it all. But by nightfall (after a lot of hard work had been done) Harry had finally managed to get the car to work. Ginny had repacked the twins school trunks so that everything they would need for the coming school year would fit into them.
The next morning the whole family was up and about at a reasonable time for once, and after they'd all eaten breakfast, James was already wearing his Gryffindor House uniform and both Frederick and Hermione Potter were just wearing their normal uniforms until they were sorted into a house by the sorting hat. James had been teasing them saying that they were going to be sorted into Slytherin. And they had nearly blown a fuse and shouted no way (and reducing their voices loudly whispered to each other) we want to be in Gyffindor like our dear older brother they both said in sly voices, James heard what they said and let out a silent groan and put his head in his hands.
After breakfast they all packed their luggage into the car (which had been magically enlarged to accommodate the family and all their possesions) and they were finally off. The twins getting very excited but it was all old stuff to James by now who had gotten over the excitment along time ago. Though he could understand his brother and sisters excitment, he had after all felt the same way when he'd been starting his first year at Hogwarts.
They arrived at Kings Cross at 10.40am and managed to find two trolleys on which to place all their stuff. And they headed off towards the barrier that led onto platform 9 and 3/4, upon reaching the barrier they each took it in turn to go through so that the Muggles wouldn't see that anything was peculiar with people disappearing through a supposedly solid wall. Once on the platform they saw the train sitting at the platform and as always it took their breath away. The luggage was taken away and stored in the goods van. James said a hurried goodbye to his parents and after a quick peck on the cheek of his mother, hurried off to find some of his friends. Both the twins were nervous about leaving their parents for the first time, but with a little persuading they both got onto the train. The door magically closed behind them and the two of them leaned out off the window and as the train moved off they waved to Harry and Ginny until they were out of sight.
'Shall we go and see if we can find an empty carriage?' said Frederick.
'Ok' came back the reply.
So off they went searching, but the only carriage that they could find appeared to have what looked like an african kid in it so they asked if it was alright for them to sit here and the kid said.
'Yes, please do come in' with a smile.
'My name is Ade and I am just starting my first year at Hogwarts. What are your names please?'
'My name is Frederick Potter and this is my twin sister Hermione, pleased to meet you Ade, and were also starting our first year'.
'Pleased to meet you both' came back the reply.
