Rating: 15+Chapter Reviews: 1

Background:   Font color:

She was trembling getting this close to Fred.

Then a patronus leaped into the middle of the dance floor and everyone stared. Fred and Rachel looked at the patronus form of the lynx.

“Kingsley,” muttered Fred as Rachel felt his warm breath on her cheek.

Then it spoke. “The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming.”

Then silence.

Then the screams came from all sides. George and Lee came running towards them through the crowd.

“Disapparate to the flat know!” instructed George as Fred grabbed her hand and whipped out his wand.

When the apparated into the living room flat Rachel let go of his hand.

“I need to go and do something alright,” she said then turned and ran to her room not looking at any of them.

George stared at her then returned Fred’s gaze “What happened?” he asked “Did you find out what Krum meant by hurting her?”

Fred sunk down into the sofa, George and Lee sat down on the other side of him “We almost kissed,” he said in a dazed voice as he listened to the rain lashing down outside the window.

“What? When?” asked Lee.

“It was just before Kingsley’s patronus came in,” Fred answered, without taking any of it in. “We were dancing and…” he stopped. He remembered it so clearly. Rachel had taken a step towards him, she had lifted her head to his, she had made no complaint when he had bent his head down to hers and he had felt her shiver in his arms while he was holding her tightly in the warmth of the summer evening. She had wanted to kiss him. Fred was sure of that.

“Then what?” asked George.

Just then the door to Rachel’s room swung open…

She got changed out of the dress and shoes that she had worn and put on jeans, trainers and a white, and lightly stripped, shirt. She opened her trunk and crammed all her clothes and belongings in it. She slammed down the trunk and attached it to her broom. Rachel opened the door and stepped out of the room into the living room. Lee, George and Fred were sitting on the sofa looking at her. I don’t need this right now, she thought as she headed for the door.

“Rachel,” Fred called after her getting up from the sofa. Rachel quickened her pace; she really didn’t want to complicate things.

“Rachel!” Fred called again as Rachel ran down the stairs and out of the front door into Diagon Alley and the pouring rain, her trunk hovering after her.

She turned around to look at him. Making out his fuzzy outline in the rain.

Fred stared at her. She looks amazing, he thought.

“Yes,” she said.

“Where are you going?” he asked as he felt the rain run through his hair as he took a step closer.

“Somewhere else to make sure you don’t get in trouble for knowing me,” she replied staring pointedly below his face.

“What…” Fred stopped as she walked towards him and came within touching reach. He heard his breath slow and his heart beat faster.

Rachel stepped closer and said “Fred listen to me. I wouldn’t live with myself if something happened to you and it was my fault. I’m going- don’t look for me.” She took one step away but then she swiftly walked back kissing him lightly on the lips and stepped back and stopped. I kissed him said a small voice in the back of her head that was, at that moment, having an out of body experience. She stepped away from his surprised face and went over to her stuff.

She had kissed him. He felt the sensation of blood pumping beneath his mouth that had been kissed so many seconds ago.

He grabbed her arm and turned her around to face him then took her by the hips and put his lips against hers.

It was breath taking in the very literal sense of the word; her head was swimming, her heart beating like a humming bird’s and blood was pumping ferociously under her lips which made her mouth have a mind of its own. She didn’t care how long it was because all she could think about was the kiss.
She was kissing Fred Weasley. That’s right the handsome, amazing, hot Fred Weasley is kissing me, she thought as she smiled in a blissful oblivion against his lips. Wow he’s an incredible kisser.

Fred felt Rachel’s hands grasp a fistful his dress robes and pulled him closer to her. Then she slid her hands up to his shoulders and ran them through his hair. Fred responded, despite still being amazed by her actions towards him, by moving one arm around her waist and one behind her head, so he could hold her tightly as he tilted her head back, and gently slipped his tongue into her mouth, making her gasp- which turned into a moan- longingly into his mouth.

Rachel loved the feeling of him close to her, his arms around her, her fingers running through his hair and everything else about it. The fact that Fred was kissing her like that, with his tongue sweetly caressing hers, was the best feeling in the world she’d ever known and made her stomach do somersaults while she tasted his delicious mouth. And she’d never want him to stop.

Fred and Rachel, however, were so lost in the sensations of kissing each other, and of the other kissing back with just as much passion as they could possibly have, that neither of them had realised that they were about to be rudely interrupted…
