"Harry Potter has died. He was killed as he was trying to save himself by the hiding in the forest even though you lay down your lives for him. Here is his body as proof that your beloved and most precious hero is dead." Voldemort's voice said across the grounds. "The war is ours. Your hero has died, and you are outnumbered three to one. There is no hope left for you. Come out and surrender yourselves over to me. Spare you and your family by joining me. Those who come over will receive grace and will live in peace. The rest of you who continue to resist will be killed immediately. I shall rebuild this world and create a world full of harmony."
Hermione looked at Ginny. Hermione and Ginny stood there looking where Voldemort stood talking. Hermione looked around.
"We have to warn the others," she mouthed to Ginny.
Ginny nodded. Hermione and Ginny quietly ran up to the castle.
Once they were in the Entrance Hall, Hermione turned to Ginny and said, "Go to the Great Hall and tell them to prepare for War. I need to get something out of our dorm."
Ginny nodded and went off to the Great Hall. Hermione watched her disappeared then ran up the stairs. She ran through the halls looking for an advantage over Riddle. How could Harry possibly die? Hermione thought, He was always the strongest of all of us. How am I suppose to kill Riddle if Harry couldn't? Ugh this is so stressful! I wi-"
"Well, Well, Well. Looks like Mudbloods aren't as loyal as Potter believed. Are they, Granger? At the moment of loss, you're running for cover. How typical." Malfoy sneered. "Well, I'm certainly glad that you aren't my friend because I can't stand disloyalty. I'm sure Potter didn't appreciate it either. Yet, here his best friend stands. Running like a coward. Running from death. Always knew you mudbloods were worthless. Good for nothing traitors. Huh... Might as well do Potter a favor and kill you. Ready, Granger?"
Hermione blew her bangs out of her eyes and said, "Oh Malfoy! You always did have awful timing! I don't have time for this. I have to deal with Harry's death, fight you, and kill voldemort. Life couldn't possibly get any worse. Perfecto totalus!"
Hermione's spell miss him by an inch. Draco's face turn to pure fear as he realized how close he was to being beat in a dual by a mudblood. Draco raised his wand and shot the killing curse at Hermione.
Hermione lunged out of the way and yelled, "Expelliarmus!"
Draco's wand flew up in the air and landed gracefully in Hermione's hand. She pointed both wands at Draco and said with a smirk, "As you were saying Draco, Mudbloods are more loyal than you'll ever be. At least I'm his friend because I care for him not because I fear him. Stupefy!"
The spell hit Draco squarely in the chest. Hermione sighed and dropped Draco's wand. Well now that that's over back to my quest. Hermione thought.
Hermione turned and ran to the Gryffindor Tower. She ran past charred pictures, holes in the wall, and blood covered tapestry. Hermione pulled open the burnt picture frame of the Fat lady. She ran into the common room and up to the boys' dormitory.
Hermione burst through the door and stood there for a moment looking over all the beds to find Harry's. Which one? Which one? Which one is Harry's? Oh whi-"
Hermione's thoughts were interrupted by Voldemort's voice, "Defender's of Hogwarts come out and see how your valiant hero 's body lays empty at my feet."
Oh crap! I have to hurry!! Hermione freaked.
She ran to the bed off to her left and opened the chest. Shoot this is Ron's! That means the next one must be Harry's.
Hermione hurried over to the bed left of Ron's and opened the chest. Bingo! She rummaged through his trunk looking for the invisibility cloak. Where the heck is it?
Hermione leaned her arms against on the edge of the trunk. Where the heck is it? It should be at the bottom of the trunk, unless...
Realization came over Hermione, Unless he took with him on purpose because...
Hermione froze. Because he isn't dead!
