A/N: Disclaimer: I do not own anything in the Harry Potter universe. That all belongs to the wonderful J.K. Rowling. The song lyrics, Should Have Said No belong to Taylor Swift. The only thing I claim is my plotline.

Also, the spacing and formatting are being very weird, such as italics don't seem to be working. So please bear with me!

And everything seems to happen for a reason,” I finished writing, and closed my book with a satisfying click.

I knew it was something that I had always been told, but that didn’t mean that the recent events that had happened were easy. Though if life were easy, it probably wouldn’t be worth living.

I couldn’t believe that I had just finished my first book. I leaned back into the chair, closed my eyes, and thought back to how it had all started, and what had inspired my idea to turn my experiences into a book.

Two Years Ago

Yesterday I found out about you,
Even now just looking at you,
Feels wrong.

“Hermione!” I heard Harry call as he came running toward me. I had just stopped in front of the Fat Lady‘s portrait and was about to give her the password so that I could get to my dormitory and go to sleep.

I could tell that something was up the moment Harry reached me, although he didn’t say anything, at least at first.

“Are you sure you’re ready to go in there?” he asked, tilting his head toward the portrait hole.

“Um, pretty sure. After all, I’m not just standing here because it’s fun. I’m tired, it’s been a long day, and I was hoping to be able to head to bed,” she said, starting to get annoyed.

“Wouldn’t you rather… go visit Hagrid or something?”

“Harry, what has gotten into you? We just saw Hagrid, not more that an hour ago. What is going on that you don’t want me to go to the common room?”

“I didn’t…I mean, there’s nothing that…”

I couldn’t figure out what was going on, and to be honest, at that moment, I didn’t really care. Whatever it was could wait until the morning.

“Lickity-split,” I told the Fat Lady, and she swung aside, opening the way for me to go in, leaving Harry staring behind me.

There was talking and noise that greeted my ears as the portrait swung open, but as soon as I walked in, all the noise that had been there immediately turned off. It was hard to still ignore it. Were they talking about me? Was this why Harry had tried to keep me away from being in here? Was there something going on that I was going to regret?

Then the whispers started up again.

By now, Harry had caught up to me and was practically hanging onto me, trying to drag me… where was he going?

“What are you trying to do? You can’t go the girls’ dormitories!”

“I’m not trying to… you said that you needed some sleep so I was…”

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to find out what he was trying to do, because at the moment, a third year girl who I didn’t really know all that well rushed over to me and, talking in a horribly fast tone without stopping for a breath, asked, “Is it really true? Is it? Is it true that Ron Weasley got Pansy Parkinson pregnant?”

You say, that you'd take it all back,
Given one chance, it was a moment of weakness,
And you said yes

By the next morning, the entire castle was in an uproar. No longer did it seem that only the Gryffindor students were talking about what had happened, but it seemed that all of the other houses were talking about it, as well as the teachers.

I was still in shock by the announcement that I had heard last night, and kept telling myself that it was some kind of horrible nightmare. That was the only explanation for it. Until I reached the Great Hall and saw Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape having a row, right there in front of all of the students.

“How dare you accuse one of my students of unruly behaviour, Severus? There are two parts of this, and I believe that Miss Parkinson is just as responsible. I will not have you taking out your anger on my students and their house. It is NOT acceptable for you to take away one hundred points from Gryffindor for this. Do you understand me?”

Professor Snape was practically up in Professor McGonagall’s face, staring her down.

“Do you honestly believe that my student would have gotten herself into this predicament without the help of your students?"

You should've known that
word about what you did with her
would get back to me.

“How could you expect me not to find out what had happened? How long have you been in this school? Do you not realize that everyone, and I do mean everyone, talks about everything? Not to mention, with PANSY PARKINSON of all people! How could you? How could you do this to me?”

His face turned red, like he was ready to scream back at me, but shut his mouth as quickly as he could.

“You just don’t understand,” he finally muttered. “It wasn’t like it really meant anything. It was just like, you know…”

“No, I do not KNOW. Things like that don’t just happen. That’s the part that I would really like to know. Is how did it happen?”

At that moment, I saw Draco Malfoy shove himself up from his seat at the Slytherin table and yell out, “I’d like to know the same thing, Pansy!”

I could feel the eyes of the entire school on us, but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was that I get it said, right then and there, and be done it with. Hadn’t I already been through enough?

 But do you, honestly,
Expect me, to believe,
We could ever be the same.

“How could things ever go back to be the same? They can never be the same again. Do you understand me? This is beyond any other kind of betrayal that you could ever do to me. Do you not even get that? You think that you can just go and be with that…that seductress, and that I’m just supposed to forgive and forget? If you think that, you really are stupider than you look. It’s over. I don’t mean for now, or for awhile. I mean for good. Forever.”

As Ron was about to leave, I looked him in the eye and said, “I just have one question for you. Was it worth it? Was she worth it?”

I turned and walked away before he could answer, not giving it another thought.

You should've said no,
Baby and you might still have me…

Present Day

Who would ever have thought that such a horrible experience such as being informed in front of the entire school that your boyfriend knocked up another guy’s girlfriend could have ended with such a wonderful ending?

I was trying to put those thoughts into words as I reopened the ntoebook, and it was immediately re-closed for me.

I looked up into the eyes of Draco and smiled.

“Things really do happen for a reason, don’t they?”

A/N: So what did you think? I think I will probably edit this more later and make it longer, possibly into a two parter. I just happened to hear the song and it inspired this and I wanted to get it written before the idea left me.
