(Recap from last chapter)
Hermione walked out of the castle knowing that she should not follow him because it was a trap and yet she could not stop herself from going outside to stop him from hurting Draco anymore. Knowing within herself that it was a pointless attempt and not caring to stop moving she walked out of the castle and followed the man that wanted nothing more than to kill her, into the Forbidden Forest..
The night was dark as Draco looked across the grounds of Hogwarts looking for the girl that had come to mean so much to him in such a short time.
“Hermione!” he shouted into the frigid air, hoping that he wasn’t to late to save her from fate that was coming for them.
“Please Hermione if you’re out here answer me?!” he yelled to the wind as he ran down the steps of the castle and toward the Forbidden Forest. Running with all his might Draco could not see the path before for tears had come to bear making his vision watery. ‘Please Hermione don’t give up I’m coming for you. Hold on I’ll save you. If you die Hermione I will never forgive you!’ he thought while praying to whatever God would listen.
“Well well well if it isn’t the traitor himself. Welcome son to the beginning of the end for you and her. Lucius sneered at his one and only son laughing at whatever was amusing him. That's when Draco saw her lying on the ground covered in leaves and soaked to the bone. "I told you this would happen if you didn't leave her alone, but no you had to go and disobey me and now your precious Mudblood will pay for it!" Lucius spit while kicking the girl on the ground before him.
"Stop Father your fight is with me not her. She hasn't done anything; I deserve the punishment not Hermione." Draco said pleading with his father hoping that he could stop this before the end came.
"Do you hear yourself Son, you are begging me too save this Mudblood's life instead of thanking me for getting rid of one more piece of garbage, one more taint in this world?" Lucius asked bewildered by his son's behavior.
"She is not a taint, she is the most wonderful person in the world and you act as though she was a house elf that you can command to do whatever you want. Well she's not and no matter what happens, no matter what you do I will always love her!" Draco yelled at his father.
"Draco what's going on? Where are we?" Hermione asked having woken up from whatever spell or curse had been placed on her.
"It's ok love, everything will be fine don't worry." Draco answered her question giving her hope that he himself did not feel. Draco looked back at his father knowing exactly what was going to happen and yet wishing there was some way to change it.
"Draco why does this not feel right, why do I feel as though I've seen this before?" Hermione asked him, looking like an angel as she peered at him from her seat on the ground. For she did not dare move with Lucius standing so close and both her wand and his own in his hand.
"Mi you have not seen this before. Mi remember that no matter what happens I will always love you!" Draco said as he began to move slowly and steadily toward his father. "Draco what are you doing?!" Lucius asked in outrage of the words that his son had just uttered to the girl.
"I'm doing what I should have done a long time ago." Draco responded raising his wand and pointing it at his father before taking a deep breath and filling himself with all the rage and anger that his father had ever made him feel.
"Ava..." Draco began but Lucius beat him to the words.
"AVADA KEDAVRA!" in a flash of green light all Hermione could see was Draco looking at her with so much love in his eyes that she felt as though the curse had missed, but when the flash disappeared from her eyes she saw with horror that the curse had in fact hit its target.
"DRACO!" she yelled pulling herself up and running to his now lifeless body. "DON'T LEAVE ME HERE! YOU PROMISED YOU WOULDN'T LEAVE ME!" she screamed as she held his body in her arms.
"The traitor is dead let all of Pureblood rejoice! Draco who loved a Mudblood over his own family, and who left the fold has been punished!" Lucius said laughing a laugh so cruel that it made Hermione sick.
"CRUCIO!" Hermione yelled pointing Draco's wand at an unsuspecting Lucius. As Lucius was withering on the ground in pain Hermione said "You killed your own son and you're happy about that?! What kind of father are you? Your son was in love and just because it wasn't someone of Pureblood that means you have to go and kill him?!" she yelled in outrage at Lucius.
"For doing such a thing I will make sure you get what you deserve. GO TO HELL LUCIUS MALFOY! AVADA KEDAVRA!" Hermione screamed at the top of her lungs using all the anger at the man who Draco called Father, bring about the strongest killing curse known to wizards and witches alike.
"Draco please come back, don't leave me here alone! I need you more than anything in the whole world.." Hermione cried as she moved back to the body of her one true love.
As footfalls are beginning to be heard throughout the Forest and shouts are made calling out the names of the two students who had disappeared, Hermione looks around her and sees the dagger that Draco always wore on him in case he lost his wand in a battle. "Wait for me Draco I'll be there soon, I promise." Hermione said before kissing the cold lips of the man she had loved more than life. "So this is how Juliet felt when she awoke and found Romeo dead?" she asked of nothing but the trees that surrounded her and Draco.
Having asked that out loud she then said:
"Eyes look your last. Arms take your last embrace and lips, oh you the doors of breath! Seal with a righteous kiss a dateless bargain with engrossing death." Just as the sound of voice and footfalls were closing in Hermione drove the dagger she had given Draco for Christmas through her heart, falling down next to her beloved dead.
Authors Note: Well here it is everyone. Sorry it has been a long long time since I last update but I have been extremely busy the last few months. The bad news is I've finished the story.
