I understand that i'm a witch and shouldn't be shocked by anything anymore, but the castle of Hogwarts holds so much breathtaking beauty it's hard not to be in awe, and if that wasn't the thing that had me gawking like an idiot then it was definately the ceiling in the great hall that was showered with the glittering of stars from the night sky.
It was because of this that i hadn't noticed people staring at first, way to go Dumbledore, yeah we're really not attracting attention. I decided to sit with the maurauders, some girl told me what they decided to call themselfs, Nicky sat next to me. Wow the sorting's really slow if it don't hurry up my stomach's going to eat itself. I notice Nicky silently giggling next to me and turn to find out why.
"What's with you?" i ask a little annoyed.
"The look on your face when your hungry is just priceless" she laughs.
I grumble under my breath and it's a couple of seconds before i relise the sorting's over and Dumbledore's stood up. Arms spread out wide as if he was trying to hug everyone he began to speak.
"Welcome new students, to you old students welcome back, before i let you fill your stomach i must remind you that the forbidden forest is just that forbidden and mr filch has asked me to tell you the list of banned items will be found outside his office door. Now enjoy." he finished with a grin.
I turned back to the table to notice it's filled with delicious smelling food, and grab as many wonderful things i can eat. Okay so i eat just as much as a guy does, so sue me. I like food, besides i'm sure it looks better than what james' and sirius' are now doing. I notice Remus,Nicky and Peter looking at us with amused expressions and just smile at them. I have never tasted something so wonderful, it's like heaven on earth, i swear there is no better food. So is it really surprising to say that half an hour later i'm full and rather sleepy, but unfortunately no-one else has finished, so waiting impatiently i start humming under my breath.
"Finally, it's about bloody time" i grumble as i grab Nicky's hand and pull her up as the marauders follow us. Just as we reach the doors we're stopped by a very unfriendly looking guy with blonde hair stone cold blue eyes and a stuck up demeanor.
"Well, well, well if it isn't the blood traitors and who are these two lady's" he says silkily.
"Blood traitors don't make me laugh can you not come up with anything better to say you jumped up arrogant toad and as for who we are you can get out of my way cause i'm not going to tell you" i reply before anyone else can answer and roughly push pass him taking Nicky and the boys with me. Well what can i say i really hate the word"blood-traitor" and the other "mudblood". Serves him right.
"Who the hell was that?" asks Nicky as we're walking to the common room.
"Well that was Lucius Malfoy, He's a complete ass and i think my cousin may have made an enemy out of him really a "jumped up arragont toad" he questions me as i shrug my shoulders before replying.
"Well it was the first thing i thought of and i just made my first enemy and i haven't even been here a couple of hours i would say that's pretty much a record" i laugh as we reach the common room.
"Well goodnight boys will see you in the morning" i yawn at them as me and nicky head up to our dormitory.
As we open the door we notice a certain red head who turns and smiles at us.
"So i hear you came from Beauxbatons? just wondering what it's like? she asks me and Nicky.
For the next 2 hours me Nicky and Lilly sit and talk only being interrupted by Alice Jones and Marlene McKinnon our other two dorm mates. By the end of the night i truly think the five of us are going to become great friends. Maybe moving to another school really wasn't a bad idea i thought just before i closed my eyes and drifted into a peaceful sleep.
"Oi get up you lazy cow we're gonna be late" Nicky screams in my ear the following morning.
"God go away Nicky don't you no not to wake me up by now" i grumble rolling over and trying to go back to sleep. Which didn't work as i planned as Nicky pulled the covers off of me, i can hear the other girls in my dormitory laughing as i roll out of bed and stumble into the bathroom, muttering about "bloody friends". Ten minutes later i walk out of the bathroom fully dressed in my uniform with my hair and makeup done ready to go to breakfast.
"Well come on you woke me up now and i'm hungry there's no way i'm missing breakfast" i say a little irritated still at Nicky for waking me up.
I stormed down the dormitory stairs with the girls sniggering behind me only to walk straight into who else yes Sirius Black. I smile appoligise and storm off for breakfast. Great he's going to think i'm a right moody cow now. I couldn't help but think as i plop down on the bench at the gryfindor table, closely followed by Nicky, Lilly, Alice and Marlene who to my chagrin were stil sniggering about my foul mood.
I help myself to a plate full of bacon, eggs, sausages and beans my mood beginning to lift with every mouthful, well what can i say my moods linked with the contents of my stomach.
"Well girls now that Bambi's full and in a better mood when do we get our timetable's" Nicky asks the other girls while i shoot her dangerous looks. Before anyone could answer the marauders join us for breakfast all the while looking at me closely to see if i was in better mood, that was the last straw for the girls who were now practically on the floor laughing there heads off.
"Yeah about this morning Sirius i am sorry bout that but Nicky woke me up and i was a little ticked off" i say while studying the table so as not to look into those beautiful grey eyes.
"No problem" he smiles " I must say though i like you in a good mood you look scary when your pissed" he says as the girls double over again this time joined by the rest off us. At that moment Mcgonnagal comes over and hands out our timetable's. Great potions first and then transfiguration then double arithmancy. Nicky's with me all day same with Lilly. Remus Is with us for arithmancy and the rest are with us all morning.
"So Evans i need a potions partner and you no you want me" says james cockily.
"Potter you egotistical, pig-headed jerk i will never want you grow up" Lilly screeches standing up and storming off, with us girls following laughing at the red-head.
Before i new it we had got through the first week done all our homework and were lounging by the fire, i was right though i had become good friends with the girls in our dormitory, I also made an enemy with Malfoy (frog spawn in your head is hard to get out then again having his hair died pink was so much funnier), i had also made great friends with Sirius. I was hardly ever without him, albiet a rather arrogant friend, a bit like james i should say.
I must say though he is a bit of a man-whore he's been through 4 girls since we started. At that moment James sat down opposite me.
"Ah james just the person i wanted to see, i heard your quiddich captain this year and wanted to know if i could try out" i ask my cousin.
"Sure Sel your dad told me you were a great beater so Quidich try-outs are next weekend" he replies getting up because Lilly just walked in. It's become normal to me to watch those to fight it's rather amusing watching your cousin bein brought down off his pedastal. Nicky and Remus walk in laughing together, those two had been spending a bit off time together in the library aswel, they are truly alike, he's a sweet guy, but i know he has a secret but then again so do me and Nicky.
