I am just going to write from Lily’s perspective from now on. It’s much easier this way and I’ll be able to focus more on her character. Thanks, and please review! ☺
Remus looked as if he was going to explode. He, of course, was the only one unaffected by Sirius's joke. God, he looked scary.
"Erm, I think I'll get a drink." I announced and started to back away.
I had no idea where the kitchen was. I just ran towards the nearest door.
“Lily, dear!” Mrs. Potter exclaimed, running towards me. “I’m SO glad you could make it!”
“Oh, well, Remus was coming, so he decided to bring me along.” I said, smiling at her.
Mrs. Potter was a very sweet, kind, and big-hearted woman. She had brown hair (which was always in a pony), blue eyes, and a round face. My mother and her have had “girls nights” every Thursday since I could remember.
“Remus? Why on earth would him coming make a difference?” She laughed. “Merlin, if I knew you were coming I would have told James to pick you up! I mean, you only live a few streets over.”
James had obviously not told his mother I was going out with Remus. .
“Oh, well, you know. Whatever’s easier.” I was trying to get rid of her. This was getting awkward.
“Oh, dear. There’s James. He’s not going to be very pleased with me for talking to you. Bye sweety. Oh, and tell your mother I’ll call her, alright?” Mrs. Potter said as she went off to talk with Mr. Potter.
“Hey, Lily.” James said as he ruffled his hair.
“Why do you do that? It makes your hair even messier.” I blurted out.
He looked sheepish. “Makes me look like I got off my broom.”
“Ah. That makes perfect sense.” He was so full of himself.
“Anyways. What I said back there- I meant it.” He smiled at me.
Unfortunately for him, that just annoyed me. “You big, stupid bloke. What’s wrong with you? I’m going out with your friend. Do you really think you should being saying stuff like that?”
“Calm down, Lily. He knew what he was getting himself into. It was his choice.”
“What are you talking about? What do you mean ‘he knew what he was getting into’? Is dating me bad or something?”
“No! It’s just- I told him- He knew-“
“What? You’re not making sense.” What was he talking about?
All of the sudden, his mouth was on mine. James Potter was kissing me. I didn’t know whether to be flattered or insulted. Wait, what am I talking about? This is one of Remus’s best mates. Remus was my boyfriend. This should not be happening.
I quickly pushed him away and saw a smile on his face.
“Lily-“ He started to say, but was stopped short when I slapped him. “Oi! What was that for?”
“What do you think?” I asked nastily. “We will never speak of this again, it didn’t happen.”
I walked away from him, trying to find Remus.
On another note, James was a pretty decent kisser. Wait, I take that back. I shouldn’t be thinking about it. What just happened between us was wrong. It shouldn’t have happened.
I looked up and saw Sirius. “Oh! I’m SO sorry. I didn’t mean-“
“S’alright, Lily.” He said, grinning.
“What are you smiling about?” God, he knew.
“Nothing, nothing at all.” Could he make it more obvious?
“Ugh, could you just tell me where Remus is?” I asked, tapping my foot impatiently.
“But, of course.” He twirled his hand in the air and pointed towards his right. He almost looked like a butler.
I tried to go around him, but we started to do the awkward thing where I go the same way he does, then when I try to move out of his way, he does the same thing and were blocking each other yet again.
“Right then.” He said. “Stay there and I’ll just go ‘round.”
“Thanks.” I mumbled and blushed.
He laughed, almost bark-like, and walked away.
I looked up and saw Remus coming over. My attitude shifted completely when I saw him. “Remus!” I shouted, waving my arms.
“Hello, Lily.” He smiled down at me. “I’m sorry about how I acted earlier. I’ve calmed down quite a bit.”
“Phew.” I said jokingly.
He looked at something behind me quickly, then once again over at me. Clearing his throat, he said, “I have to leave. Would you like to come with me? I’ll walk you home.”
“Of course.” I said linking my arm to his.
“Bye Mr. and Mrs. Potter!” We both shouted over everyone.
25 MINUTES LATER. . .
“Where did that come from?” I asked, breathing heavily.
He smiled slightly. “Sorry, I just haven’t- seen you- in- a while.” His words were broken; he was speaking through pants.
15 MINUTES EARLIER. . .
We were at my front door and, out of nowhere, he started kissing me. I could barely breathe.
I needed to breathe so I took my mouth away. He immediately moved to my neck, which is, of course, ticklish. I was giggling like a schoolgirl, and shouted, “Reee-musss! Stooooop!”
He just smiled against my neck and put his hands on my waist, forcing me into the house. Thank God my parents weren’t home tonight. . .
I started to kiss back and pushed him towards the living room. This made him happy.
I was up against the wall and he was kissing me like a made man. All of the sudden, something changed. We went towards the coach and he was on top of me.
Don’t’ get me wrong, Remus is an amazing guy, I just didn’t want to lose my virginity on a couch or with a boy I’ve been dating for 2 months.
“Okay, I think it’s time we slow down.” I said smiling at him.
He immediately got up and took my hand, smiling hugely.
3 HOURS LATER. . .
"Okay. I’m tired.” I paused- he looked slightly hurt. “Remus, we’ve been talking for nearly three hours. PLUS, my parents should be home soon.”
That did it. He jumped up so fast that if you blinked, you missed it. “Right.” He bent down and kissed me on the cheek. “I’ll send you an owl later, okay?”
“Okay.” I said.
I watched him walk down the street, then heard him apparate when he was out of sight, but definitely not out of mind.
