Regulus was furious when he found out what had happened. It took Dom a lot of convincing for him to agree not to go and curse Matthew to Kingdom Come.
“W-what was I s-suppose to say?” I sobbed into Dom's shoulder. “H-he didn't want to talk about it.”
“That ass is going down once I get my hands on him!” Regulus roared. “He had no right to say that you flock to my brother like every other girl, basically calling you a whore!”
I sniffed. “Reg, h-he didn't call me a whore.”
Regulus ignored me and he paced backwards and forwards, his fists clenched. “But he implied it!”
Dom sighed. “Kitten, calm down, you aren't helping.”
Regulus frowned and went and sat down, his face dark. Dom shook her head at Regulus' mood and moving my hair away from my face she handed me a new tissue, which I took gratefully.
“Was I-I too h-honest?” I asked, dabbing at my eyes. “I-I can't forget the broken look on his f-face.”
“Yomee, being honest was the best thing to do. If you had just lied and continued to go out with Matthew and deny any feelings, the hurt would have been too much to forgive in the end,” Dom explained softly.
“You think so?”
Dom nodded. “I know so. Let Matt lick his wounds and once he has cleared his head, let him come and talk to you. But in saying this, you might have to avoid Sirius.”
I bit my lip. “What if I can't?”
“You have to, Yo. Otherwise, you won't be able to keep Matthew's trust as a friend.”
I nodded, Dom knew a lot when it came to guys, plus I think she still wanted Matthew's friendship. I wanted Matthew in my life also, so I had to be strong and pick up the pieces. I knew wounds would heal in time; it just took a little understanding. I just wished it were easier.
“I don't think my brother is going to be easy to avoid,” Regulus said. “He's just too determined.”
“Then you have to tell him straight, Sophie,” Dom told me sternly.
“Okay...” I murmured. “But what If I lose him too; I don't want him to think that I want to push him away.”
“If he loves you, he'll understand,” Dom replied.
“You're right,” I agreed. Looking at the time, I saw it was nearly dinner. I'd been in tears for at least three and a half hours. I rubbed my temples and wished for the first time that I was really going down for a home cooked meal in my small dining room. There I could imagine my mum would comfort me with her nice soft smile and my dad would be forbidding me to date ever again and my brother would be in Reg's place saying he'd go and knock his lights out. It was really hard to believe Dom and I had been away from home and our family and friends for a month today.
Sniffing, I fixed myself up and got to my feet along with Dom and Reg.
“I-I might skip dinner,” I said. “I'm not really hungry.”
Dom took my hand. “Alright, Yo, you go rest.”
“Mirror me if Matt's there or not.”
“Of course.”
I looked at Reg. “And if you do anything rash, I'll know.”
Regulus forced a smile. “A halo is around my head.”
“Sure,” Dom huffed rolling her eyes.
Exiting the room, I watched them go, hand in hand. I smiled slightly and then began my walk towards the common room. On the way I stopped at the very notice board that Dom had spied and confirmed that we were sent back to the Marauder era on our first day. I read over a new Quidditch announcement saying that Quidditch practice would begin on October the sixteenth and the official game would be on the twenty-fifth. I looked around taking in all the memories, and then continued to walk. When I rounded the corner to the stairs leading to the seventh floor, I heard voices.
“If you find her, bring her to me straight away,” I heard one say, and I froze because it was Sirius.
“Okay, Padfoot-Snuffles chill,” I heard James reply. “Hurry Wormtail, I'm starving!”
“I'm coming; I just nearly got caught in the trick step!”
Panicking, I quickly dashed behind the wall and listened.
“Is Moony keeping you company?” James asked, his voice drawing closer.
“Yeah, he's looking at the map as we speak,” Sirius replied.
I froze even more. Crap, at this minute Remus knew where I was – he could tell Sirius! I couldn't even get back to the common room without being caught. I guess I really had no choice, but to face Sirius and just tell him straight that I had to sort things out with Matthew and it could take some time.
“Alright, good luck with Cookie, Padfoot-Snuffles!”
“Ha. Ha. Very funny Prongs,” I heard Sirius say, and I could imagine James poking his tongue out at Sirius cheekily. As soon as James and Peter had walked past, I peaked around the corner to see Sirius turning around to head back to the common room. Taking a deep breath, I stepped out and began climbing the stairs, Sirius hadn't noticed I was following him either, until I felt my whole foot sink into something and then the surface surrounding hardened.
I looked down and let out a small cry, I'd landed in the trick-step!
Sirius turned around, the confused look upon his face immediately turned into a shocked look and he bolted towards me.
“Sophie!”
He bent down and I don't know what he did, but I was out before I knew it and picking me up slightly, he moved us two steps above. I gulped when my body filled with warmth at his touch and looking nervously up at him, his face was so close to mine.
It was so damn hard! So, so damn hard not to just kiss him like no tomorrow, right there and then.
“Sirius...” I whispered.
Sirius smiled grimly, and placed a loose strand of hair behind my ear and stroked my cheek lovingly. “Are you okay?”
“I have to sort things out first,” I said softly, as I took his hands into mine. “With Matthew, I can't – we can't ... just yet...”
“Sophie, I'm not trying to be romantic when I say that I don't think I'd be able to keep away from you any longer,” Sirius said, as he put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.
“I know ... but you have to. I care for Matt and his well-being, and I don't want him to suffer, Sirius. Once I know he'll be okay and then we can be together,” I told him with subtle firmness.
“How long is that going to be?” Sirius asked, his face coming closer inch by inch.
“It could be today, it could be tomorrow,” I replied. My breath caught in my throat, Sirius' lips were barely touching mine and I was going into overdrive. I had to stay strong no matter how frustrating it was. Sirius stayed how he was, and I just closed my eyes, waiting.
Then all the warmth left when he pulled away.
“Okay, Cookie,” he said. “Do what you need to do.”
I smiled and opening my eyes, I caressed Sirius' cheek softly; my heart skipped a beat when I saw him lean into it. Merlin, I think I was in love, I'd never felt this before ... it was scary and thrilling at the same time.
“Thanks, Snuffles.”
The moment came to an end when I felt my mirror vibrate in my pocket. Looking away from Sirius, I took it out. Opening it I saw Dom's smiling face.
“Yomee, Matthew is on his way, he wants to talk.”
I looked up to Sirius, who looked hopeful.
“Y-you serious? I-is he coming to the common room?”
Dom nodded.
“He left a minute ago, so you should hurry.”
“Thanks so much, Dom. I'll talk to you later!”
I took a deep breath and Sirius took my hand and began climbing the stairs. “If he hurts you, just call and Moony and I will be out to hex his ass right out of Hogwarts.”
I couldn't help, but to chuckle. “Let me handle it.”
When we made it to the Portrait of the Fat Lady, I had to force Sirius to go inside, and once I succeeded, I waited nervously for Matthew. Five minutes rolled by and finally he appeared around the corner. When he saw me, he paused.
“Matthew...”
“Sophie,” he said stiffly.
I slowly walked towards him and once we were face to face, it was entirely silent. I didn't like 'the end', it was hard not to tear up knowing this would be the end of what was really special in my life. It was hard to bear the fact that Matthew might not still be my friend after this. Matthew had always been there, I thought we could have last, and now...
I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out, so I closed it again. What was I to say that wouldn't hurt him more than I already had? What was I to do when I'd never done this before?
Matthew just waited patiently. He was always patient; so understanding. All I did was break his heart.
“What does your heart want to say?” Matthew finally spoke.
I looked at him in shock. “W-what?”
“I said: what does your heart want to say?” Matthew repeated his face tight.
What did my heart want to say?
“Thank you,” I whispered, unsure if that is what he wanted to hear, but when he didn't say anything, I just continued. “Thank you, Matthew Corner, for being so kind and caring. You've been a great boyfriend Matthew, but more importantly, you've been a great friend. Nothing will change how much I care for you and when it's tough, just call my name and I'll be there, wand at the ready.”
A tear rolled down Matthew's cheek, his face softened and I stretched out my arms and pulled him into a hug.
“Alohomora, let me unlock your heart. Alohomora, don't let us be apart...”
I pulled away and smiled slightly. “Alohomora, you are the one. Alohomora, this is just the start.”
The Milly Mandrakes song Matthew and I first danced to on my second day here - he still remembered...I remember thinking of how cute his smile was and oh gosh, my retarted bo-peep PJ's. I'd never forget our moments together.
Matthew kissed me on forehead. “If Black ever hurts you, I swear I'll put him in a box and owl him to You-Know-Who to personally take care of him.”
I chuckled and wiped away any tears that still lingered. “I'm sure he'll be good to me.”
“Sophie, you are so special and if it means letting you go to keep you shining, then I would be so cruel not to.”
I smiled. “Matthew ... thank you, I hope you find happiness...”
Matthew nodded. “I'm sure I will.”
Pulling apart, I watched as our hands slowly pulled away from each other, until they finally let go.
And I watched as Matthew walked away.
Walking into the common room I walked in to see Sirius wasn't there. I looked around thinking he might be hiding, but the common room was empty. I hadn't see him leave, so I thought he could be up in his dorm. However he wasn't there either. My face fell and I decided to wait for the girls to arrive and went to the girls' dorm.
Kim was the first to arrive back from dinner out of the girls, and she didn't say anything as she walked in. I watched as she marched over to her trunk, grabbed a magazine and threw herself onto her bed, closing the hangings behind her. I just stared, I knew what she was going through, and it was a wonder why she didn't want to talk to me about it.
Lily was the second to arrive, she smiled at me and came and sat down. “How are you feeling Sophie?”
I shrugged. “A little empty, but I'm going to be okay.”
Lily patted me on the leg. “Good to hear,” lowering her voice, Lily lent in closer. “Kim does not like the fact that James has gotten over the break up rather quickly.”
I nodded. “Poor thing.”
Lily sighed. “I hope that when I get a boyfriend, I don't have a massive break up.”
I laughed. “Don't worry, you'll be fine.”
Lily got to her feet. “I hope so.”
Finally, Heather and Mary joined us and I found out some rather horrifying news.
“I'm in total like with Peter!” Mary squealed happily. “He is so wonderfully cute!”
“So your day at Hogsmeade must have gone well with him then,” I said.
Mary nodded. “Oh yeah! He's so much fun!”
Today just continued to surprise me, I was pretty speechless, and so I just didn't say anything. I continued to think where the hell Sirius got to. I really wanted to see him.
“And you thought I was bad when I had a crush on him,” Heather muttered shaking her head with a smile.
“Well I now know what you saw in him,” Mary said dreamily. “He's perfect.”
“What about your like for bad boys?” I asked. “Oh, Merlin, he's spiked your drink with love potion hasn't he?”
Lily and Heather both gasped and Kim's bed hangings were thrown open. “No way!” they all cried in unison.
Mary looked at us in disbelief. “What? No way!”
Lily let out a sigh of relief. “Good, because if he had, I'd have to take points of Gryffindor and right now we are winning.”
Mary rolled her eyes and then turned back to me. “Peter is a little bad boy if you really think about it.”
Kim, Heather and Lily laughed like only hell would freeze over when Peter were to be ever classed as a bad boy. I hoped when that day did come, I had already warned them.
“I don't want to talk about this subject anymore...” I said and lying down I sighed. Where was Sirius?
When the girls had all gone to bed, I couldn't sleep. So I went down to the common room and sat down near the fire. I felt like hitting myself, I just couldn't stop thinking about Sirius, and I was beginning to worry. These feelings I was feeling weren't what you felt when you had a crush. These feelings were so much more, and I was slightly scared. I usually would talk to my mum about these sorts of things, but she was in Australia in the future and my second resort was Dom, who hadn't gotten back to me to see if I was okay, so I guessed Regulus was her priority at the moment. We had both found love and I was so bloody scared that the portal was going to come back and take it all away.
I let out a sigh and pulled my knees up to my chest. Everything about Sirius was so irresistible, his stare, his smile and right now it was so hard to be away from him - I couldn't describe the feelings.
“May I join you?”
I jumped and turned to see Sirius leaning against the couch, arms folded. He was still in his uniform, tie loose and looking hotter than ever. If I had my way, he wouldn't be wearing anything. I gulped and forced myself to look away before my hormones went into overdrive.
“Where did you go?” I asked.
“Sorry Cookie, Remus is having troubles, the full moon is near,” Sirius replied, sitting down beside me. “I had to take him to the hospital wing.”
“But, how did you get past Matthew and I?” I asked.
Sirius smiled slightly. “We didn't. I took my broom and flew around Hogwarts to the Hospital Wing, Remus didn't get it, but I guess I just didn't want to interrupt or overhear what you and Corner were talking about … just in case you two made up...”
I rolled my eyes and smiled...boys, I dunno...
"But, Remus going to be okay right?" I asked worriedly. "The poor guy!”
Sirius nodded. “He's used to it, he'll be okay.”
I let out a sigh of relief. “Good, you take care of him.”
“I always do. So...” Sirius began slowly. “What happened?”
“Matthew and I sorted it out the best way we could,” I replied. “It's okay now, apart from the fact that I don't think Matthew wanted to be just friends.”
“So you aren't friends anymore?” Sirius asked. “Oh, Soph...”
I shrugged. “I don't know, but we're okay.”
“So now I can kiss you right?”
I looked at Sirius and chuckled. “Of course.”
Sirius beamed and taking my head into his hands, his lips came crashing onto mine in an instant. A huge feeling of warmth spread throughout my body as if I'd been drenched in hot water. I responded with great pleasure and enthusiasm as Sirius laid me down onto the floor, pushing his body close to mine. It felt so good; I didn't want this to stop. Our hands greedily ran through each other's hair and down our bodies, as if selfish for each other's touch. Our tongues flirted and our breaths were sharp. I didn't want to pull away; I didn't want this to end. Finally, after what seemed like hours, we pulled away.
“I love you, Cookie,” Sirius whispered, resting his forehead against mine.
“I love you too, Snuffles,” I replied.
The feelings I felt right now, I'd never,
ever forget. I was
the happiest girl on planet earth.
Nothing could get me down.

When I awoke the next day, I couldn't wait to start the day and I was even more excited when I received a rose from Sirius. I couldn't help, but to sing and dance around and the girls wondered what I was on.
“Tell me who it is,” Lily demanded as she packed her books into her bag.
“Sirius,” I replied giggling.
“Ooooh, ya better use the protection charm or something,” Mary warned and I nearly choked.
“WHAT!”
Mary blinked. “I meant so you don't get attacked by his fangirls.”
“Oh,” I said blushing. “Right, thanks for the warning.”
“You dirty girl,” Mary muttered hitting me lightly as she walked past.
Clearing my throat, I threw my bag over my shoulder and was ready to face the world!
“Bye peeps, I'm off to breakfast!”
“See ya Sophie!” Heather said waving.
“Byyeee!”
Skipping down the stairs I couldn't help but to beam when I saw Sirius waiting for me patiently.
“Good morning Cookie,” Sirius greeted giving me a loving kiss.
“Good morning Snuffles!”
We chuckled and kissed each other again. Sirius was
sooo perfect!
“Oh get a room you two!” James' voice filled the air.
Sirius pulled away and winked. “Gladly!”
I giggled and taking his hand, we began walking towards the exit.
“Peter, wait up!”
We all turned around to see Mary rushing over, Peter looked a little confused. “Morning Mary.”
“Let's walk to breakfast together,” Mary said trying to contain her excitement.
Peter smiled. “Sure!”
James shook his head. “Great, now I know something is definitely wrong when Wormtail has an admirer.”
“Hey!” Peter cried pouting and James laughed and patted him on the back. “Kidding mate.”
At that point Lily, Heather and Kim came into the common room and by the looks of things; James was going to make a move. “Lily, would you like to walk down to breakfast with me?”
Lily rolled her eyes. “Fine, whatever.”
James looked over the moon and poor Kim looked devastated. But, smiling up at Sirius, we continued on our way. I wasn't in the mood for problems, man I'd had enough of those to last me a lifetime. I was just going to take it slow with Sirius by my side.
Today was going to be a good day.
A/N: So ... how was it? Enough sexual tension for ya haha! Sirius and Sophie are finally together everyone :D The way I portrayed Matthew and Sophie's relationship was like your first crush-like love coming to an end, and with Sirius and Sophie, your first encounter with true love and your sexual awakening. Sort of like stepping out of childhood if you say, and into adulthood with the right one. ^^ it's gonna be fun (I think...eeep) right, can't wait to hear your feedback and I'll see you with the next chappie!
XOXO WildFlower!
