Her blood was on my hands. I killed her, it was my fault. I should have protected her like I promised I would. I should have been there but I wasn’t. She was counting on me, I let her down. I never told her how much I loved her and now I’ll never get the chance. I could have saved her. I could have done something. She was drowning and I could have pulled her out.
She was beautiful. Her golden hair fell in tight spiral curls down her back. She hated her curls, I loved them. She tried any spell she could find to try to get rid of them and I always tried to convince her she was beautiful the way she was; she never believed me. Her bright blue eyes sparkled like diamonds. They reminded me of the ocean. She was perfect in every way but she never thought she was good enough. She was patient. She would help me with my homework when I got frustrated. She would show me how to do it. Her smile was as bright as the sun. She could brighten my day with one of her smiles.
She lived in the shadow of her sister. She was trying to be as good as Victoire but what she didn’t realize was that she was better in every way. She was gentle and kind. She was helpful and smart. The world could have been hers; she could do anything she put her mind to.
She loved to dance. She especially loved to dance in the rain. Whenever it rained she would race outside and let the water pound against her skin as she danced to a beat only she could hear. She loved thunderstorms but she hated lightning. We would sit by the window during a thunderstorm. She would smile every time thunder shook the earth and squeeze my hand whenever lightning flashed across the dark sky.
I would change it all if I had the chance. I would have saved her from herself. I would have stopped her. I would have shown her how much I loved her. I would have listened to all her fears and held her when she cried. She was the most amazing person in the world and now she is gone. I remember the last time I saw her. She seemed fine. She was happy; at least I thought she was. She was laughing her bell like laugh as she walked away from me. If I had known what she was going to do that night I would never have let her out of my sight. Right before she disappeared in the crowd she turned back to me and there was a strange look in her eyes. It was like she was begging me to do something, at the time I didn’t know what. But I do now. She was begging me to save her but I didn’t. Dominique Weasley killed herself and I didn’t save her.
