Chapter 1

Introduction

Hi.

I’m Sirrah.

You know, that weird girl from Slytherin with the crazy, always-changing, bleached blonde hair who wears too much eyeliner?

What?

That’s what people say!

I’m also sometimes referred to as that crazy girl who makes all her own clothes.

Although that’s not necessarily true…

I don’t make all my own clothes.

I mainly just stick to making dresses; from super duper formal to the casual every day kind.

What?

I like dresses.

What’s it matter to you?

You don’t like dresses?

Oh.

Well, then I don’t think we can be friends.

“Sirrah! Are you ready yet?”

Damn.

That’s my mum.

Apparently it’s time to go.

Where am I going, you ask?

Well, to the King’s Cross Station of course!

You see, I’m a witch.

Yes, I did say witch.

And I go to a special school for witches and wizards alike. It’s called Hogwarts; Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to be precise.

Summer has unfortunately come to an end and now it’s time to go back to school and complete my sixth year. I only have one more year after that before I graduate and they unleash my badass self to the world!

I am too a badass!

Oh, shut your mouth already. I do not remember ever asking you to speak.

“Sirrah!”

I have to go downstairs now. This conversation is over.

I grabbed my trunk and took one last glance around my room.

Yep, I think I’ve got everything.

Time to get this show on the road, as they say.

Who are they?

I don’t know.

Other people? Actually, I think it’s a muggle saying…

Hmm… don’t tell my father I said that.

He thinks I hate muggles and everything that concerns them.

I must confess I lie, though. I don’t hate them. I don’t see any reason to hate them. It’s not their fault God didn’t give them magical powers.

But I’m afraid my father would kill me if he found out… so keep your mouth shut. You got it?

Actually, I think if my father knew, he’d eventually get over it. He’s not that bad. It’s actually my grandfather I’m a little terrified of. He would definitely not get over something like that. He’d probably blow a gasket…

So, like I said, keep your mouth shut.

This is serious stuff I tell you.

Who is my terrifying grandfather, you ask?

Why, Lucius Malfoy, of course!

Who else would it be?

Okay, so let me just explain everything to you and then maybe you’ll stop asking such stupid questions.

I’m Sirrah.

As in Sirrah Crux Malfoy.

Yes, both Sirrah and Crux are names of stars. Well, Crux is actually a constellation. Sirrah is a star though, in the Andromeda constellation. My great aunt’s name is Andromeda, but she was banished the moment she ran away from home and married a muggle-born. And I’m sure you’ve heard of my other great aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange. You have? I swear that woman was a psychopath, but you didn’t hear it from me.

Why are we all named after stars and constellations, you ask?

I don’t know.

It’s a pureblood thing, I guess.

A very haughty pureblood tradition, if you ask me.

I think the Blacks started it. Yes, that’s right. My grandmother, Narcissa Malfoy, brought it into the Malfoy family when she named my father and my father must have insisted to my mother that the tradition be continued onto their own children.

Hence why my name is so damn weird.

I swear, if I ever have kids I’m going to give them normal names. It’s high time someone put an end to this ridiculous tradition. Besides, the family is running out of decent star names since we never recycle them. No, we wonderfully rich and uptight purebloods do not name our children after dead people, unlike some other families I know of.

Anyway! Back to the original topic.

I’m Sirrah Malfoy.

Daughter of Draco and Astoria Malfoy.

Granddaughter of Lucius (the scary grandfather I was telling you about) and Narcissa Malfoy.

And also the granddaughter of Stephen and Cecile Greengrass, but they live in France so I don’t see them all that much.

Oh yeah!

I almost forgot to mention that I am the twin sister of the one and only Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy, unfortunately enough.

You’ve heard of him?

Well, isn’t that nice.

“Sirrah!”

You hear that shrill voice calling my name?

“What could you possibly be doing up there?”

That would be my mother. Again.

“I’m coming!”

Hold your horses, woman.

Merlin’s beard, there I go again with the muggle sayings. I don’t know where I get them from.

Well, this has been a lovely chat but I’m afraid it must come to an end.

Maybe we can continue this conversation another time when I’m not bordering on being late for the Hogwarts Express.

Have a nice day!

*

Immediately, I made my way down the hall, from my room to the staircase, and rushed down the steps to meet both of my parents and brother at the front door.

They were all glaring at me.

Mother simply shook her head and sighed, “Honestly, Sirrah, you said you had everything packed yesterday! What in Merlin’s name always takes you so long to get ready? Now, we’ll be lucky if we even have a few minutes to say goodbye and get you and your brother on the train.”

“Sorry, Mother,” I said, looking down at the floor. “I just wasn’t sure if this dress was the one I wanted everyone to see me in after three months of being away, and then I got to worrying about my hair… Do you think it’s too blonde? Maybe I should try to find a suitable shade that’s a bit less bleached looking… or maybe I should make it longer…”

I saw my father and brother both roll their eyes at this.

Father hated listening to girl talk and Scorpius, well… Scorpius knew what I was doing.

I was distracting her with silly antics that I knew would easily deter her attention away from my lateness and make her look at me all proud-like for being concerned enough about my appearance to ask for her advice.

“You’re hair looks fine, dear,” she stated, with that oh-so-proud look on her face that I was telling you about. “If you want to change it you can worry about that on the train. Now, come on, let’s go.”

She held out her hand for me to take just as my father rested his hand on Scorpius’ shoulder and suddenly I was being squeezed into a teeny tiny tube-like structure with my mother and five seconds later we were standing on Platform Nine and Three Quarters.

“Merlin, I wish you would learn to warn me before you do that!” I hissed, annoyed.

They always did that to me. You’d think by now I would be prepared for it, but no. It still surprises me every time.

I hated side-apparating.

“Ah, we’re here just in time,” Father sighed happily, completely ignoring my comment.

Typical Father, if you ask me. He was always ignoring me. I wasn’t special enough for his royal attention.

Or to put it plainly, I wasn’t a boy.

I’m not saying he doesn’t like me but, to be honest, he certainly doesn’t like having me around.

Why not, you ask?

Eh, I don’t know. It’s a long story. I’ll tell you about it eventually but right now is just not the time.

Currently, my mother had a tight grip on my arm and was rushing me to the train. Father was walking ahead of us with Scorpius at his side like always.

Of course, Father has no issue with Scorpius; he has the same equipment Father does.

What do you mean what equipment?

He’s a boy!

Meaning, he has a dick.

Meaning, he’s the male heir and the more important of the two of us.

Scorpius will carry on the Malfoy name.

I will probably be married off to some hideous man who lives in France.

Okay, so he probably won’t be hideous, I do still need to make attractive babies who will grow up to be attractive people.

Attractive, rich, pureblood women do not just get married off to unattractive men who could ruin our perfect family gene pool… even if we are just disposable females.

But I can probably expect to be married off to some overly handsome fool with no brains or common sense who will bore me to death before I’m even able to reproduce.

If I know my family as well as I think I do, I will probably be married off to someone of an even higher status than we are… even though we already are pretty freaking high up there on the list of wealthy and attractive purebloods.

But enough of that.

I am now being shoved onto the train with my luggage after my mother quickly kisses me goodbye on both cheeks, and Father just glanced me over before gracing me with a curt nod and patting my brother on the shoulder supportively.

I rolled my eyes at his ridiculously obvious favoritism and walked onto the train. My brother followed shortly after and we quickly found an empty compartment to share for the time being.

Author's Note: Hello everyone. This is something I've been working on for a while now and, honestly, I'm really not sure where it's going which is why I purposefully didn't want to give anything away before you at least read this first chapter and got some sort of sense to it, because I just didn't want to give anything away beforehand and ruin it, hence why the story is lacking a real summary. And originally, I didn't even want to call it "Sirrah Malfoy" because that's also giving part of it away, but I just don't know what else to call it for the time being although all ideas and suggestions from you are welcome and I will ponder them and see what I can do to put them in. I've got the first several chapters written already and now I am just trying to further it from there in the super small amount of free time I have, which is none, but I tend to make it anyway. Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed this first chapter and please remember to review before you leave.

Thanks so much for reading,
