Prologue:
1st Year, September 1st, Platform 9 3/4
A small boy with dark untidy hair, slightly askew glasses with deep hazel eyes stared at the wall with a large smile of anticipation. 'This was it.' He thought. 'Finally going to Hogwarts!'
He ran through the wall pushing his trolley through to emerge on the other side. He was shortly followed by his mother and father who smiled down at their enthusiastic son.
Soon after placing his trunk on the train he let his eyes wander. They fell on a small red head deep in argument with a slightly taller girl with jet black hair who was jabbing her finger accusingly.
Curious he stepped closer to hear the argument. “Tuney!" Cried the red head. "Please don’t be like this! We’re best friends you know this won’t change that fact.”
“How about you and your little freak friend go and join the circus I don’t care and I certainly don’t want to be related to a freak like you!” The taller girl spat at the red head.
The younger girl stepped back tears in her eyes and ran away to her friend a small boy with shoulder length greasy black hair. He greeted her with open arms. James Potter witnessed this with a ray of emotions.
Awe that a girl could look so beautiful, anger the dark haired girl screamed at her and envy that the small boy could hug her. Even at such a young age James Potter witnessed love at first sight, he knew then he would do everything in his power to be the one hugging her.
It was the first time he ever laid eyes on Lily Evans.

7th Year September 1st
“EVANS!!!!”
Lily turned to face a tall very handsome guy with glasses and very untidy hair which he was attempting to flatten while failing miserably. If it was anyone and Lily meant
ANYONE even Lucius Malfoy instead obnoxious, stupid prat of a Potter she would have been happy to see them.
“Let me at least get on the train before you start pestering me Potter” the red head replied in flat monotone voice.
“Sounds like an invitation”. He smiled a crooked smile at her which lifted up all her heart strings as though it was a puppet hanging by his command.
‘SHHH Don’t think that!' She reprimanded herself mentally. 'Remember he’s a git albeit a good looking git but a git nonetheless!’
“Potter what I meant to say was wait at least until I have my wand out so I can greet you properly.” she returned his smile with an all too sweet one.
Placing a hand on her wand lowering it slowly incase she still decided to use it, James replied; “Hmm well if I remember correctly someone here is still sixteen Miss Evans so excuse me if I’m wrong but that wand is of no use to you."
Lily cursed herself mentally for momentarily forgetting James Potter’s stalking had led to him finding out her birthday in their third year. It wasn't that she didn't like the idea of having a birthday party, but her idea of fun was very different from the maruaders. After getting cake thrown all over her and getting locked in a broom cupboard with James for three hours she decided after that little incident she would just hide whenever her birthday did come around.
The thought of those birthday parties reminded her of James’ group of friends the other three marauders. They usually were here to ambush James but today she couldn’t see any sign of them.
She couldn’t help wonder where James’s little possy was now. She soon snapped out of her daydreaming to note Potter was helping put her trunk inside the train. 'Well at least he’s making himself useful.' She thought.
James looked around so far the marauders have kept to the plan leaving him alone with Lily, so that he could gently break the news that he was head boy.
He couldn’t shake off the uneasy feeling that a certain annoying mischief maker would get in the way.
One thing James didn’t notice as he scoped the platform, was that watching him wasn’t a fellow marauder it was someone James would consider misfortunate to meet. Someone Sirius would have told him to crush. It’s what Remus would call a little healthy competition.
Hey everybody! Well i forgot to include an A/N when i first got this up! :) its my first HPFF story hope you all enjoy it! So far its been getting a lot of reads which makes me sooo happy but a review would make me even happier ;) the 2nd chpt will be up soon its much longer thank god but the line is now 19 hours so bear with me!!!

**Edit :) SO I was going through it again and just wanted to add yes I know it's not very canon that Lily is younger than James when actually it's the other way round. But like timeturner's avvie on the HPPF forums sometimes you just have to say screw canon XD thanks for the reviews dearies :D
