Lily sat in bed the next morning the daily Prophet in front of her, she was looking at the announcements and personal message page. There were three concerning her little Phin, one from her parents

 



 

The second was exactly what she would have expected

 



 

And the third was the most surprising

 



 

Lily took the page out of the news paper and folded it up and put it in the bascket next to her. Scorpius came in.

“we can go home now” Lily got out of bed and changed, into normal clothes. Lily place Phin into the baby basket that her parents had given them the day before and draped a blanket over his little form. Scorpius placed his arm round his wife and they apparated home.

 



 

“He’s just adorable isn’t he” said Lily who was stroking the back of her baby’s small hand “fingers so small”

“yes he is” he kissed Lily on the head Lily place Phin in the cot in his room across from theirs.

“lunch time” said Scorpius and he ran down the many stairs to the kitchen. Lily just sat in the room for a while listening to Phin breathing, then she went to the bookcase that was on the wall next to the window and extracted the baby book. Most of the pages were now full, there was a picture of her at three months smiling happily, one at the wedding of her looking beautiful, then there was another at Christmas with all the presents round her. Then she came to the name page, Lily wrote with the pen that was attached to the book

 



 

Then she place the book back where it had come form and walked down the stairs, for the first time in a long time, to the kitchen.

Scorpius had made ham salad sandwiches, which as he knew were Lily’s favorote.

“you are the best husband any wife could ask for” Lily smiled at him and then proceeded to devour the sandwiches, the hospital food wasn’t really that appetizing.



“seems stupid now, doesn’t it” said Lily

“yeah”

“I’m going to check on Phin” Lily got up and went up the stairs to Phin’s room, he was sleep in quietly.

 



 

Lily left the room and went down a flight of stairs, she was on the first landing when she saw that one of the doors was ajar, she opened it more and went in. It was the room with the Black Family tree tapestry on one wall. She looked it up and down and noticed that the scorch marks had gone and that the face of Andromeda and Regulus were once more restored, there was also two new additions to the tree one Lily Malfoy and the other Phinius Malfoy. Lily turned round to find Scorpius watching her.

“interesting isn’t it?” he said

“yeah, did you do this?” Lily asked

“only the scorching I was looking through the books that you were given and found the solution”

“but...”

“I think it is enchanted because I am on there and this- he gesture to the tapestry- was definitely made before I was born and so is my mother, she wasn’t born a Malfoy”

“Look Teddy’s on there as well and Tonks and Lupin” Lily smiled to her this made her day, with the added exception of her new born baby.

“see how inbred we all are, I’m surprised poor Phin didn’t come out with an extra arm” said Scorpius in a jokily manner, Lily still hit him for it, “but it’s true we are all inbred, only through marring muggles or muggle-bourns can we not be”

“your dad would kill you if he heard you saying that” Lily said then laughed.

“were going to have to send a photo to Slughorn, he’ll never forgive me if I don’t and also what about the godparents?” he said turning his back on the family tree.

“I was thinking Jo Thomas, possibly Hugo. Is there anyone you...” she trailed off, realising that he probably wouldn’t want Crab, Goyal or Patricia to be godparents, they were too much of a bad influence.

“no I like them they sound decent enough” he stepped towards her and gave Lily a long kiss.

“oh Lily a letter came for you, I think it’s from your mother” he summoned a envelope and gave it to Lily. She opened it.

 





 

“she wants us to go to the get-together, are you up for it?” she asked as she handed the letter to her husband.

“yeah sure”

She grinned. “You do realise that everyone will be dying to see Phin and coo all over him and get all broody” 

Scorpius chuckled, “they'll probably scare him to death with all the family love”

“Oh I’m sure he'll be fine after all he's half Potter. “Lily winked and then smiled,

Scorpius smiled and nodded in agreement,

“...and half Malfoy, besides everyone knows that we Malfoys can handle anything even Hyper Weaslys and Obnoxious Potters”

Lilly elbowed him “this is your very large extended family you are talking about”

 Scorpius smirked at her and leaned in for kiss which she happily obliged. She pulled away after a minute or two looking worried.

Scorpius looked at her for a moment frowning, “what's wrong?” he asked

She looked up at him, “I don't have anything to wear” Scorpius rolled his eyes and smiled

“Don’t worry we'll get something or you can always ask my mother” he stifled his laughs

Lilly smiled and sighed happily, “what would I do without you” Scorpius smirked as he pulled her closer to him.
