'Good choice of a club, Dominique' Victoire muttered sarcastically as I watched her glance around the practically empty place.
I shot her a smile which told her that I knew more about this club than I was letting on as I lead them over to a locked door with a bodyguard standing to the side of it.
Tapping the door quietly, I waited. Victoire and Rose stood impatiently behind me, still not completly understanding what was going on, or for that matter, what in the name of merlin I was doing hugging a locked
I smiled politely at the bodyguard as the door swung open and music boomed from the room. Smirking to the girls, I motioned for them to enter the room.
The multi-coloured lights streamed down onto the many dancers while music blared from the speakers near the DJ. It was packed.
'Wow..' Rose breathed as she looked around the newly opened club. 'How did you know about this place, Dom?'
I shrugged, 'I know some people who know things about places'
'WOOO!' Victoire's cheering voice made me snap my head to the left only to see her surrounded by quite a few shirtless dancers as she span around in a circle, flaunting every aspect of her body.
Sighing, I shook my head and turned to face Rose as she spoke, 'Everytime we go out clubbing she ends up surrounded by topless men'
'Maybe we should get her a lead' I commented dryly as I pushed my way through the crowd to get drinks, 'What are you having?' I called over my shoulder to Rose who was following close behind.
'Just a firewhiskey'
'Two firewhiskey's' I demanded from the bartender as I shot him my most dazzling smile.
He smiled back at me as he handed me the bottles, 'On the house'
'Thankyou' I winked at him as I walked towards Rose, a firm grip on the bottles.
Handing her one of them, she took it with a smile and thanked me while I sipped from my own bottle.
'Hey girls' Lily's voice rang out over the top of the loud music as she approached us, her own drink in her hand and Lorcan at her side. 'Hope you don't mind, I brought a friend'
Rose and I both saw the way her smile changed slightly as she said "friend" obviously suggesting that it implied so much more than just your everyday average friend.
'Lily, Lorcan' Rose acknowledged with a small smile.
I decided to settle at just sending Lily a wink, hoping that she'll get the hint that I know that those two a far more than friends.
She blushed. I smirked.
'Scorp!' Rose called over the crowd of people at seeing a blonde head making his way through the sea of people, 'Scorpius!' She yelled a bit louder this time as she tried to make him hear her, 'Over here!'
'Hey' Scorpius said when he finally got to us, 'How are you?' He asked Rose before placing a small kiss on her lips.
I rolled my eyes and looked away. Not really being the sort of person into all of that lovey-dovey crap.
'Is that Victoire?!' Teddy sounded slightly murderous as he came up behind me.
Glancing over to where Victoire was still dancing, I realised that the amount of topless males surrounding her had - at least - doubled. I nodded my confirmation, 'Yeah..'
I barely got a chance to finish what I was saying before Teddy was barrelling through the crowd of males as he fought to get to his pregnant wife. 'Victoire!' He bellowed as he glared at her and dragged her away from the males who were now all looking extremly dissapointed.
'Spoil sport' Victoire muttered and I couldn't help but snort at how immature she was behaving.
'You're pregnant, Victoire' He scolded, 'You should be at home resting'
She rolled her eyes at his over-protectiveness, 'Oh c'mon Teddy,' Victoire complained, 'the bump isn't even noticable yet.'
'That doesn't change anything' He insisted.
I watched as Victoire put on her most innocent face, 'Come dance with me? Please?'
I couldn't help but smirk as I watched him struggle to think of a reason to decline her, and eventually gave up and went to dance with her.
Downing the last of my firewhiskey, I glanced around at the people I came with. Victoire was dancing with Teddy. Lily was sitting on Lorcan's lap by a table in the corner as he whispered sweet nothings into her ear and she giggled. Rose was across the room with Scorpius as she- what? Did she just slap him? Geez, I really do miss all the most exciting moments.
Clawing my way through the crowd, I listened as their argument became so heated it could be heard over the music.
'I don't believe you!' She screamed at him as I approached them. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she ran away from him, turning a corner to go into the bathroom.
'What did you do?' I growled at him through gritted teeth. I was a little bit over-protective about my family. An added bonus of being a Weasley.
Not having enough patience to wait for an answer, I shot him a look that said "if you've hurt her then you will be losing a very important part of your body" before running off to find her.
Kicking in all of the stall doors, I finally came across Rose. She was in the very end cubicle, hunched in a ball on the floor as her mascara ran down her cheeks. She sniffed upon noticing me.
'Hey,' I said quietly as I knelt down beside her and hugged her small frame to my own, 'what happened out there?'
Rose sniffed again, 'He - he.. asked me to.. to marry him' pausing only to hold back a fresh set of sobs, she took a deep breath. 'I said - said no..' She then moved her head to stare up at me as she smiled sadly, 'I want the proposal to be more romantic.. not in a - a club' Burying her face back into my shoulder, she continued. 'Then.. then I - well, I.. find him..' I could tell that she was really having some trouble finishing what she was saying so I rubbed comforting circles on her back. 'He kissed her' Rose managed to get out before falling victim to a wave of sadness that overcame her and made her burst into
'Wanna go home?' I asked her gently.
She shook her head, 'I'm - I'm fine.. really'
She really expected me to believe her? 'I'm taking you home'
Shaking her head, Rose looked at me. 'I'm not going anywhere. If he's gonna play this game then well.. i'm going to play it too'
'Inspirational!' I pretended to sound like a too eager scientist watching a plant grow as I mocked her - my attempt at lightening the mood.
It seemed to do the job as she let out a small chuckle and wiped her eyes.
'Now..' I murmured as we got to our feet, 'There is a threat that needs to be taken care of'
Her eyes went wide at the implication, 'What are you going to to, Dom?'
'Only remove part of that scumbag's body' I told her as if I was telling her that I was going to go wash the dog.
'As long as that part isn't his hands'
I gave her a strange look.
She simply shrugged so I left it be. There was no point in even bothering to find out why she didn't want his hands to be removed.. It would either be about some weird obsession she has with hands or something sexual - I don't particulary want to know about either of them to tell you the truth.
Holding out a hand to her, I smiled. 'Wanna come dance with me?'
She nodded as she took my hand and I dragged her out of the bathroom and into the center of the dancefloor.
We immediatly began busting our moves. Showing off every aspect of our bodies as we moved along to the music, singing along to a few of the song lyrics as we did so. A few songs came and went as well as plently of male dance partners. Giggling slightly, we continued to dance. Not bothering to notice the the person who had been staring at me intently the entire time untill said person came up from behind me and tapped me ever so gently on the shoulder.
Turning around, I came face-to-face with Lysander. 'May I have this dance?' He asked with a smile as I rolled my eyes.
'A little formal aren't we?' Smirking at him, I added mock sweetly, 'Are you that formal with your girlfriend?'
'What's that supposed to mean?'
I rolled my eyes at his attempt to appear clueless. 'Lysander, do you really believe me to be that stupid that I wouldn't find out that you already have a girlfriend?'
He seemed at loss for words so I went to face Rose again to continue dancing.
Grabbing hold of my elbow, Lysander turned me around so that I was facing him again.
'She's not technically my girlfriend' He told me whilst I fought to keep a straight face from the lies he was telling me.
'Don't lie to me. I'm not an idiot.. but you are a cheating jerk.'
'I wouldn't call it cheating..' He muttered (which I could barely hear over the booming music).
I shrugged his hand off my elbow. 'Leave me alone, Lysander. I mean it. Until you can come to me and tell me the truth then I want nothing more to do with you.' I then turned back to Rose so that we could continue with our dancing whilst I heard the very loud and angry steps of Lysander storming away grow faint from behind me.
Admittedly, I felt rather proud of myself. Having the guts to stand up to the guy that i'm in love- wait. Not the L word.. I'll just rephrase that sentance - Having the guts to stand up to the guy that I had once felt somewhat attracted to is a very brave thing to do. And I, Dominique Weasley, had just done said brave thing.
I mentally gave myself a pat on the back for my victory before Rose and I walked over to where Teddy, Victoire and Lily were sitting around a small round table in the corner.
'Where's Lorcan?' I asked Lily whilst pulling up a chair at their table.
Sighing, she answered half-heartedly. 'He left when we saw Lysander storming out of the club.'
'Oh, sorry about that'
She smiled. 'It's not your fault, Dom. I heard what Lysander did. He's an idiot.'
'I second that notion!' Victoire called to show her support which made me laugh out loud.
'So, Rose..' Teddy asked to stray from the "let's all associate Lysander with rude words to make Dom feel better" conversation that was sure to come, 'Where's Scorpius?'
She shrugged as she replied venomously, 'Probably off with some other girl'
Watching as everyones eyes went wide and then as their expressions turned into pity, Rose smiled sadly. 'It's okay, i'm fine'
'Do you want to come home with me?' Lily asked quietly, 'I was just about to leave anyway'
'Sure' Rose shrugged and then stood up. 'Thanks for an almost amazing night guys,' she smiled sadly, 'I'll see you soon'
We all smiled in return as we took our turns to hug both Rose and Lily and then watched as they left the club.
Victoire shook her head in a dissapointed manner, 'I just can't believe he'd do that'
'You better believe it,' I told her, 'because it's true'
She turned to stare straight into Teddy's eyes before sternly telling him, 'I warn you - If you ever so much as lay a finger on another girl, I promise to personally scoop out your eyeballs with a rusty spoon and then cut you into a billion pieces'
I cringed at the mental image I recieved from her threat while Teddy fliched slightly, obviously scared of her. Honestly, I would be pretty damn scared of her too.
Ignoring them as Teddy assured her that he would never do such a thing, I took to my feet and smiled warmly at them. 'I'm gonna go now'
'Why are you leaving?' Teddy asked me, 'Something come up that is just oh-so important?'
I shrugged, 'Seen as I don't have a job and my life pretty much sucks; I have no real reason.'
He accepted that. Knowing that I wasn't really in the mood to explain anything more.
Victoire looked up at me. 'You're going to come round for dinner tomorrow, right?'
'Good,' she grinned at me. 'Can you come a little bit earlier to help set everything up?'
'I always do' Smirking, I downed the last little bit of my drink and made my way out of the club.
The harsh wind blew my blonde locks around my face as I made my way down the street; not trusting myself to be able to apparate safely in this state. A shiver ran through me as I felt how icy cold the air had gotten. Looking around, I saw just how late it really was. The sky was a dark midnight blue with the odd stars to add some beauty here and there, the street was almost empty and the lights hardly bright enough to see much.
Deciding that it was too quiet for my liking, I began to sing a song that had been stuck in my head for quite some time out loud. 'Go on and break my heart, i'll be okay. There's nothing you can do to me, that's ever going to burn me. So go on, go on and leave my love, out on the street, i'm fearless. Better believe i'm fearless-oof'
'I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking'
Looking up, I stared into the most amazing blue eyes that I had ever seen. They were so unique, I was entranced by them. 'No, no' I smiled shyly, 'I wasn't paying attention myself'
He chuckled slightly as he ran a smooth hand through his light brown hair that fell into his eyes. 'You're rather good at singing, you know'
Blushing, I replied, 'I'm flattered that you think so' I smirked at him.
It was his turn to blush now, 'I'm Luke, Luke Prinse'
'Hello Luke Prince' I shook the hand that he held out to me.
'It's Prinse' He corrected.
'Sounds the same to me' I told him with a smile, 'I'm Dominique Weasley. You can call me Dom'
His eyes went slightly wider, 'The Dominique Weasley?'
Rolling my eyes, I said sarcastically, 'I never knew that there were others'
He shook his head seeming awestruck.
'If you're gonna act like that then well.. I'm going to just leave' I went to make my way around him, but he moved to stand in my path.
'I'm sorry.. It's just, wow'
I raised an eyebrow.
He smiled at me, 'I just never thought that I would be able to get you to notice me. Believe me, I tried'
I raised the other eyebrow so that it formed a suprised expression. 'Are you a stalker or something?'
He shook his head fiercly, 'Hell no!' He then stopped shaking his head to reveal a slight blush forming on his cheeks, 'I went to school with you'
'I was a Hufflepuff'
That made sense. 'Ah, so you were a Puff'
He chuckled as he nodded.
'The same year as you'
I considered that for a moment. Trying to remember all the names and faces of people from my lessons, stopping at the memory of Transfiguration, 1st year:
'Can't I just keep it as a rat?' I asked as I glared at the evil animal infront of me which refused to be turned into a mug.
'You just need to try harder' Rose said in a know-it-all way from beside me as she examined her perfect magic made mug.
'I am bloody trying!' I announced before letting an irritated sigh pass through my lips. 'I hate you' I told the rat infront of me.
Hold up a second. Then rewind.. Did that rat just wink at me?
Rose had already walked off to go and help someone else who wasn't family and so I had to retort to asking a Hufflepuff for help.
'Oi, Puff!' I called across the classroom. Truth be told, I wasn't aiming it at anyone in particular. I didn't even really care who replied - just as long as they could make this stupid rat into a mug for me.
A small boy with light brown hair that was in need of a trim looked up from his desk where his newly made mug sat. I stared straight into his big blue eyes that were a little to large for his face and signalled him over to where I was.
Hesitantly, he stood and slowly walked over to stand infront of me. 'Yes?' He asked me in a small voice.
'Can you please turn my rat into a mug?' I asked him straight out.
Nodding, he held his wand over the rat, said a few magic words and then gently tapped it. The rat then turned into a lovely little mug.
I grinned at the boy, 'Thankyou-?'
'Luke' He blushed.
'Thankyou Luke' Then without really thinking about it, I hugged him.
He just stood there, not bothering to hug me back. At the time, I had just thought that he was being rude and so quickly let him go and he returned to his seat.
'I remember you' I announced, glaring playfully. 'You didn't hug me back'
He blushed again. It was sort of cute. 'I was a little starstruck'
'Oh, I thought that you were just being rude'
'We could have been friends' I complained as I smiled at him.
'We can be friends now?' He suggested.
Shrugging, I agreed. 'Sure, okay'
'I'll walk you home' he announced as we began walking in the direction of my flat. 'Where is it that you live anyway?'
I pointed a finger down the street. 'Down there and then left'
'So,' Luke said conversationally, 'What is it that the famous Dominique Weasley is up to nowadays?'
Guessing that he was refering to my job, I shrugged. 'Well.. I just inherited a load of money and a house from an old friend who passed away recently. Therefore, I quit my job at the ministry and am now jobless and pretty much bored'
'I'm sorry to hear that'
Trying to lighten the mood a little, I said jokingly, 'To hear what? That my friend died or that i'm bored?'
He chuckled. 'Both'
'Yeah, well, that's life I suppose' I then smiled at him. 'What is it that you do?'
'I'm a healer' Luke stated proudly as we turned the corner into my street.
'Very nice' I commented as I winked at him. 'There's my apartment' Pointing a finger at a tall building, I dragged him by the arm across the road.
Luke stumbled slightly as he was forcefully pulled to the front of the building.
'Thankyou for walking me home' I hugged him and he hugged me back. Pulling away, I smiled up at him. 'Hey, do you want to come to dinner with me tomorrow at the Burrow?'
He thought it over for a while, 'Well..'
'I'm inviting you to come to dinner not to come and join our family so that we can then extend the list of relatives we have so that we can all move into a giant castle at the bottom of the ocean where we can live in peace with the mermaids and nemo-'
'Did you just make all that up on the spot?' He asked, eyes slightly wider.
Nodding, I summarised what I was saying. 'Basically, it's only dinner.. not the end of the world'
He smiled. 'Fine, I'll come'
Playfully, I ruffled his hair with my hand before smiling and pushing open the door to the building. 'I'll see you tomorrow then'
Authors Note: Yep, Luke is the new character that I mentioned before. I know that they went from being strangers to friends in like 3 seconds flat but it just worked for me so I couldn't be bothered to change it. The next chapter will be the Dinner at Victoire's house!
