I can't get you out of the sunlight
i can't get you out of the rain
I can't get you back to that one time
'cause you and me are still recovering
The night sky was a flawless cloak of black, no stars shone down from the heavens like they normally did on these beautiful summer nights. Only the moon sent its ghostly rays of light onto the shimmering black lake, highlighting each silent ripple as it glided gently over the glossy water.
Tonight it was a different type of beautiful. It was a gorgeously mysterious night with no sounds of crickets or owls making any sounds in the background and no extra lights other than the serene moonlight.
So let's just try to cool it down
This fighting, this feeling of flames
so lets just try and slow it down
we crash when we race
A strong well muscled arm snaked around her tiny waist as she stared at the lake, pulling her closer to his toned body. Not bothering to scream or move away as she had no reason to, she turned to face him.
She recognised the blazing leaden eyes immediatly and her lips pulled into a dazzling smile as she noticed the charmingly innocent smile that he wore only for her.
This was their place. Their secret alcove among the trees. Everynight they came here just to be in each others presence, to hold each other untill sleep overtook them. Living a dream, a fantasy that would be frowned upon within the society in which they were known. Shadowed by day their secret obsession was hidden only to be revealed once more in the darkness of night.
At first it was all for fun, for the thrill of breaking the rules. But soon they were commit to the destruction of their hate for one another. Slowly and reluctantly falling for each other in a way they would never have imagined.
Both understood that they were playing with fire, yet both knew that this fire never burned, only warmed their hearts.
Sterling eyes met delicate blue as they stared into each others very souls. Every feeling that was covered by their masks, worn only throughout the day, revealed with an intense passion of longing, of need to be with each other; of Love.
The love that could never belong. Banned from birth, blinded from hatred that was unable to be overlooked by their families. Never understanding the fierce aching their childrens hearts felt from knowing that they were delving into the forbidden.
No, i never wanna fall apart
Never wanna break your heart
Never wanna let you break my own
He moved his head closer to her own so that their lips were very almost touching, his whisper filled with emotion, 'I love you' before moving his head to close the remaining distance between them.
His lips brushed gently over hers at first and then became harder yet still gentle in a way that showed his need for her without really having to say anything. She responded automatically, wrapping her arms around his neck and brushing one hand through his silky blonde locks. She was sure that if he hadn't had his arms wrapped firmly around her waist that she would have collapsed onto the floor by now, no matter how cliché it seemed, she could not deny the feeling that her legs were slowly weakening from the mixture of emotions running wildly through her veins.
She ran her tongue over his bottom lip and they were soon exploring deep into each others mouths. Tongues twisting in a ferocious battle. His grip around her tightened, pulling her small frame closer to him as their lips moved effortlessly against each others.
This was the last time they would ever hold each other in such a meaningful embrace, the last time they would feel the heat from each others delicate skin as they felt their hearts swell with affection.
They had agreed to break it off the night before, that tonight would be the very last night they had to be together. They were already in too deep and they knew that it wasn't going to be easy, yet it was something that had to be done.
So before you say you're gonna go
I should probably let you know
That i never knew what i had
I never knew what i had
They pulled apart andrested their foreheads together as they stared into each others tear-brimmed eyes for what they believed to be the last time. She spoke the words softly, willing her voice not to crack from the sadness that was slowly overwhelming her. 'I love you, Scorpius' and with that they both knew that everything they had found in each other would now be destroyed as she unwillingly untangled herself from his desperate grasp and then, she turned and left him.
He watched as her long red hair and petite pale freckled figure walked away from him. Growing further and further apart with every footstep she took. His eyes silently pleaded with the back of her head for her to turn around so he could look into her eyes one last time just to see the love that shone in them.
See i look for you in the morning
'cause that's where my mind always goes
and i can't wait to get to the evening
'cause that's when i want you the most
She answered his unspoken request when she turned to see him watching her retreating. Her ocean blue eyes, misted by unshed tears connected with his saddened dusty grey eyes once more. She smiled at him, letting the tears fall freely down her flushed cheeks, before she turned and once again continued to walk away from him, the person she loved.
Watching as she dissapeared into the night he felt as if his heart was being ripped out of his chest and then trampled on by a thousand sumo wrestlers. He stood, unmoving, as he stared aimlessly at where she had turned to smile at him. A damaged, broken smile, that would forever linger on the outskirts of his mind.
Neither of them wished to be seperated. In an ideal world; they would be together. A couple in love. But this wasn't an ideal world and not every love story ends in happily ever after.
They hated it. Hated everything about it. The pain, the heartbreak. All unessesary yet crucial in this unperfect world in which they were born.
So let's just try to cool it down
The fighting, this feeling of flames
And let'd just try to slow it down
We crash when we race
Rose lay on her bed, tears streaming over her freckled cheeks. A picture was held closly to her chest, over the place where she believed her heart now lay in pieces, shattered by the events that had taken place only moments before.
The picture was that of a smiling blonde boy, waving happily to the person taking the picture. The very blonde boy that she had recently walked away from, who she was in complete and utter, undescribable, love with.
Oh, this is not the way that it should end
It's the way it should begin
It's the way it should begin again
Rose walked silently through the bust corridors of Hogwarts on an unusually sunny sunday morning. Birds sang their sweet lullaby for anyone willing to listen and a soft, calm breeze gently tapped the leaves on the large oak trees causing the branches to sway slightly in a rythmic pattern.
Everything seemed happier this morning, or maybe it was just that Rose was far more upset that she had ever been before. She believed it to be the latter.
People waved at her and called her name as she passed them by, but she ignored them. She didn't see the point in talking to people, pretending like she wasn't as broken as she felt just for a façade that was no longer needed.
No, i never wanna fall apart
Never wanna break your heart
Never wanna let you break my own
Scanning the corridor she spotted the familiar blonde locks belonging to Scorpius. She felt a pang of hurt from deep in her chest as he turned feeling someones gaze on his back. He flashed Rose a weak smile as he noticed her staring at him before she returned the small gesture and continued on her way.
She felt new tears prick her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. She would be strong, no matter how much it hurt. He would never be completly hers and she had to learn to accept that. That was why they had broken it off sooner rather than later; to give themselves time to heal.
Yes, I know we've said alot of things
That we probably didn't mean
But it's not too late to take them back
She seated herself between her cousin, Albus, and brother, Hugo, at the Gryffindor breakfast table completly ignoring the conversations around her. Leaving her food untouched she looked up in time to see the many different owls soaring overhead as they delivered post to the many eager students.
Rose was secretly shocked when a large black owl, that she recognised to be Scorpius's, flew infront of her and dropped a letter into her lap. She hadn't expected to get any post this morning, especially from him and so examined the envelope carefully, wondering what could be written inside.
Removing her gaze from the letter in her lap she looked up to scan her eyes quickly over the Slytherin table. Her eyes froze on Scorpius as he shot her a half-hearted smile and then turn around to start a conversation with a boy beside him.
So before you say you're gonna go
I should probably let you know
That i never knew what i had
I never knew what i had
Looking back down at the envelope, she hesitently picked it up from off her lap. She stared at it momentarily before anxiously ripping it open to reveal a peice of folded white parchment.
But i know it now
I wish i would've known before how good we were
Is it too late to come back?
Or is it really over? If it's really over
Scanning her eyes back over the Slytherin table she found that Scorpius was still in conversation with his friend. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before opening her eyes and unfolding the parchment.
She read each word carefully, like each one was as important as life itself. Then she re-read the letter several times, thinking that her eyes were betraying her.
But this is not the way it should end
It's the way it should begin
It's the way it should begin again
Rose, you are my love, my only love. Never will i be happy unless you are stood at my side. My heart aches for you with every beat that it suffers. It may be forbidden but it's here, and i'm willing to face the consiquences as long as it means being able to receive your love in return. Please, Let us just begin again.
Rose looked up from the letter, tears falling down her cheeks, she scanned the Slythering table one last time and her eyes connected with the icy grey eyes that belonged to the person who had just wrote her the letter. She smiled at him, her whole face lighting up as she did so, and he smiled back, knowing that she was just as prepared as he was for dealing with this forbidden love.
I never knew what i had
I never knew what i had
I never knew what i had
-Begin again by Colbie Caillat.
I'd just like to say a very big thankyou to Bigsisto3 for help with my rather rubbish spelling(: and also, thanks to anyone who has actually bothered to read this:D
