James

Tap, tap, tap.

What the hell is that? I got out of bed, tripping over my broom. Merlin, I'm bloody brilliant at Quidditch. Such a skill, I better be team captain this year.

Tap, tap, tap.

Who's knocking on the door at bloody 4 in the morning? I went to answer the door and it flew open smashing me in the face, causing me to fall backwards on the floor.

"Alright there, mate?" Sirius asked, grinning down at me.

"What," I paused, emphasizing the word. "the hell are you doing here?"

A light flicked on. "Language, James." My dad said as he walked down the stairs grinning. "Hey, Sirius."

"I thought I taught you better than to yell at guests as soon as they arrived. I mean, after a few minutes, it's quite alright, but not as soon as they get here." Mum said as she followed Dad down the stairs.

"Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Potter. Sorry to drop by like this."

" 'S'alright." Dad said, yawning. "You two get up to bed, we'll talk about this in the morning. I'm sure we'll be hearing from Mrs. Black?"

"Don't count on it." Sirius mumbled.

My Dad frowned. "Off to bed then, both of you." Mum said, breaking the silence.

I climbed up the stairs, kicking myself internally. Why did I have to answer the bloody door? Why did that stupid git have to come here? What was he doing in my house?

"What've you been up to this summer?" He asked, breaking the tension.

"Why are you here?" I asked bluntly.

"Oh, y'know. What else is there to do at 4 in the morning?" He said.

"Right, well, you know where the guest room is." I said, closing my door.

"He's caught the snitch!"

We've just won the Quidditch Cup! We clearly won because I'm the most brilliant captain they've ever had, or ever will have.

"Wait t'go, Pottter!"

"We couldn't've done it without you!"

"Potter's the best team captain!"

My team was shouting out random compliments, but who can blame them?

"Speaking the truth!" Said Remus from the side lines as my team started to gather 'round me.

"You were brilliant, James." Lily said as she ran towards me. Her dark red hair, blowing in the wind.

As soon as she was close enough, I pulled her into a hug. We were about to snog, but then the scene changed.

Remus was where I was. Instead of me snogging Lily, he was. Sirius was right by them, grinning at me.

"Avada Kadavra!" I shouted pointing my wand at Sirius.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up, my teeth clenched and my fists balled up. That stupid prat, it's all his fault.

I don't even get why Lily fell for Remus. I'm handsome. I'm rich. I'm smart. I'm bloody brilliant at Quidditch. I'm James Potter. Every girl wants me. Why not her?

Sirius burst through the bedroom door. "What?" I said through gritted teeth, I guess you don't always get what you wish for. Maybe I could use the killing curse right now.

"I'm sorry, James. I didn't think she'd say yes. I told Moony to ask her out so he could get over his little obsession with her."

"Well that was a bloody brilliant plan, wasn't it?" I said sarcastically.

"Think of it this way, when she gets sick of Moony, you'll be right there."

"That's true." I said, a smile forming on my face, Sirius grinned back at me. Damn.

"We're alright then?" Sirius asked.

"Sure, but, why are you here?" I asked.

"Ran away. Bloody mother hates me, don't blame her though. Not a big fan of hers either."

"Thank, Merlin, I have my mum." I sniffed the air around me, knew she was good for something. "Speaking of, I think I smell food."

I got out of bed and went down the stairs. "Morning, sweety."

"Mornin' Mum." I said as I sat down at my spot, Sirius across from me.

"What's for breakfast?" He asked.

"Doesn't matter what, as long as it tastes good." My dad said as he walked around the table to sit in his spot. "Morning, boys. How was your sleep?" He asked as he flipped through the Daily Prophet.

"Fine." I grunted.

"Much better than it usually is." Sirius said, grinning.

"Good to hear."

Mum placed all of the food down infront of us. "Going to tell us what happened?" She asked. "Why you're here? Not that I don't enjoy you being here, you're like my second son."

With that, Sirius launched into his story, which was interrupted by owls."...so basically, I ran away because we can't stand eachother." He paused looking at the owls. "Perfect, Hogwarts letters. Can't believe they knew I was here."

"Impressive, isn't it?" Dad said.

"Couldn't agree more." Mum said. "Headmaster's brilliant."

"Yes!" I shouted.

"What darling?" Mum asked.

"I'm the Quidditch Captain!"

"No surprise there." Sirius said.

"Stop sucking up." I said. I read through the letter, properly this time, not just looking for the words Quidditch or captain. Damn, a badge slid out. "Bloody hell, I'm Head Boy."
