Aline's head was pounding. Her entire body ached and there was a high-pitched ringing in her ears, beyond that though, were voices. They spoke in hushed and hurried tones, never addressing her she realized. She opened her eyes to an infirmary of some sort. Sebastian stood on her left a few feet away, talking to a witch with long, blond hair and dreamy blue eyes. Aline felt a sudden and inexplicable surge of jealousy. Her fists balled up the sheets that were in her palms and she took several deep breaths to calm down.

What is going on with me? she wondered idly.

Sebastian looked over at her and flashed a handsome smile when he saw that she was awake. He excused himself from the girl and then came over to her.

"Hey there. You alright?" he asked wryly.

"I think so." she said, trying to sit up.

"Ow." she moaned, sitting up had made her head hurt more and there was a sudden pain in her back.

"Do you remember anything from two days ago?"

"Two days ago?!" she asked, lifting her head before groaning once more.

Sebastian smiled at her wickedly, mirth clear in his eyes.

"Yes two days. You took a pretty nasty hit on your back if I do say so myself. We probably would have died if we hadn't drunk Felix Felicis. Either way, you passed out shortly after we got on my bike." he explained, waiting for her reaction.

Two days? Felix Felicis? Passing out? What exactly happened. Aline tried hard thinking back to two nights ago. She recalled blood, so much blood, everywhere. Her grandmother telling her that Sebastian had been right, her grandmother's lifeless body in her arms. Finding out that her mother was dead because of Voldemort, that she was indeed a half-blood. It was so much to take in. How could her life had changed so drastically in the span of the last few weeks? How could everything be fine and then turn into hell? How?

She looked into Sebastian's face, he still wore a haughty smirk but when he looked at her, his expression sobered immediately. Aline didn't know that she was crying until Sebastian lifted his hand as if to wipe them away, but pulled back at the last second. He silently handed her a bandana that was hanging from his back pocket. Aline wiped her tears and tried her hardest to get a grip of herself. This feeling confused her, being weak, having her feelings on display for everyone to see. She had always been a strong person, one who never cried, never lost her cool, and never got scared. That girl was still in there, she could feel it. It was just that being around Sebastian, she felt... exposed. Something told her that beneath that haughty attitude of his was also a person who was waiting to come out, she just didn't know why.

"My grandmother told me that what you had said was true." she finally said after a few moments of silence. Sebastian had pulled up a chair to her bed and now sat forward, elbows to knees, temple resting on one of his fists.

He didn't reply, only looked at Aline and waited for her to continue.

"I got very angry with her. I went to the Dark Lord and told him about you. I'm sorry." she said quietly, looking into his unusually bright green eyes. There was no trace of emotion on his face, Aline decided to continue.

"He called her down and I followed her a while after. I neared the meeting room and heard screams, her screams. Voldemort uncovered the truth about my lineage, about my mother, my father, everything. You were right, I was living a lie. I believed that we were the ones right and you in the wrong. I never stopped to notice anything that went on around me. My grandmother died trying to reunite our family." she finished.

They sat in silence for a moment. The silence only broken when the same blond witch came in and checked her vitals. Up close Aline realized that the girl was actually a woman, about fifteen years her senior. Once the mediwitch left Sebastian finally spoke up.

"I have something for you." he said as he got up and retrieved an envelope with no addressee on it.

"That's the letter that grandmother wrote for me. The one in my coat!" she exclaimed.

"Yes, it is. Here, open it." he said, handing her the envelope.

Aline opened it with shaky fingers, whether from fatigue or nerves she couldn't tell. As she unfolded the parchment, her grandmother's elegant script greeted her eyes.

My dearest Aline,
I'm so sorry for you to have found out like this. I have wanted to tell you for many years but knew that it was impossible due to the Dark Lord being so close to us. I only hope that you are not angry with me. I didn't know about the meeting that you and Sebastian had had until he owled me several days later. Needless to say, I was furious with him, he was banned to ever let you know anything of this life whatsoever. Why he wanted to tell you in the first place is beyond me, bit I'm glad he did. Now, I have something else to tell you. I'm not sure how exactly you will take it, but it is a necessity in order to win this war.

Aline, my dear, your mother is alive.

The night that you were born, Bellatrix had left her for dead, but I apparated her to a cave outside of Hogsmeade village. I feared so much for her life and almost did not succeed in being able to nurse her back to health. It took her two years to fully recover from both her pregnancy and her wound. By the time that she was better, she left me a note thanking me for everything I had done and was gone. Over the years we kept little to no contact wit each other. The last time we had owled each other was about a year ago, she was in North America. I have absolutely no idea what she's doing there, but I'm sure it's something that will benefit us all.

If I am dead by the time you read this letter, please, you must go and find her. You must bring her back, the Dark Lord has plans within the next six months to make the final strike against Potter and those who choose to follow him.

Take Sebastian with you, he will prove to be a great assistance. I'm sure that together, the two of you will be able to solve whatever mystery your mother has left behind. Now I must go my darling, but please try your hardest. Send my love to Sebastian and keep each other safe, you two need each other more than you will ever know.

Goodbye my darling,

                                       Your Grandmother.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she read her grandmother's final thoughts and wishes. Sebastian looked slightly uncomfortable for a moment before her sat next to her on the bed and wrapped his arms around her. After she had calmed down some, she handed the letter to him and told him to read it. The look on Sebastian's face must have been the same as her own when she read the letter.

"Your mother is alive." he breathed in amazement.

Aline merely nodded. This was far too much to take in in such a short amount of time. On her birthday she thought that the only family she ever had were her grandparents, and now, it seemed like everyone was returning from the grave.

"We have to go look for her. I need to speak with her." she said, looking up at Sebastian who nodded in turn.

"We can discuss this some other time. You just need to rest, you were injured pretty badly." he said.

Aline nodded as she lied back down, a sudden wave of dizziness overcame her then. She blinked rapidly in hopes of getting the stars out of her eyes.

"Are you alright?" Sebastian's worried voice filled her head.

"Yes, yes. Just a little dizzy is all."

"Do you want me to leave you to rest? I could come and bring you dinner if you like."

Aline nodded her head slowly against the pillow, making sure to keep her eyes closed.

"I'd like that very much thanks." she whispered.

Sebastian was downstairs in the drawing room, his father's letter tightly in his hand. It would be a few minutes before Harry Potter would arrive via portkey and Sebastian would get a chewing out of a lifetime. If there was one thing he needed to do, was tell his dad about Aline and who she really is. Though it would be difficult for him, Sebastian was sure that his father wouldn't tell his godfather about this. Not until the right time came anyway. Just then his father appeared with a flash, landing neatly on his feet.

"Sebastian." he greeted before giving his son a tight hug.

"Hey Dad. I just got your owl."

"So I assume that you understand the heap of trouble you are in."

Sebastian nodded his head slowly, having the tact to look a little bit sheepish.

"What in Merlin's balls were you thinking?! Malfoy Manor? What the HELL was so important in Malfoy Manor that you had to get?"

Sebastian winced slightly at his father's harsh tone. Harry Potter had never taken such a tone with him before and I made Sebastian slightly nervous.

"Aline--"

"You went there for a bloody girl?!"

"Dad you don't understand. I was called there, I had to go!"

"And who in the hell called you to Malfoy Manor to pick up a girl you don't even know?"

Sebastian stuffed his hands into his pocket and took a deep breath.

"My grandmother." he said as he made eye contact with his father.

"Wha--. You don't mean Narcissa Malfoy do you?"

"Yes. That is exactly who I mean."

Harry took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes furiously. Sebastian knew then that this would be his only opportunity to tell his father the entire story. He knew that his father understood what it was like to live with a burden. Taking a deep breath, he began his tale with the letter he had intercepted that was for his mother. By the time Sebastian finished his tale, the moonlight flooded the room.

"Hermione is alive? She had a child?" His father asked him, rubbing his eyes once more. It seemed that the conversation had aged him several years.

"How could you keep this from us son? From your godfather?"

"Dad I only just found out about Aunt Hermione and well, I didn't know if I would ever meet Aline. I didn't want to bring anyone's hopes up and besides. Grandma Cissa asked me not to."

"Grandma Cissa" His father huffed incredulously under his breath.

"Dad, we have to find her. It can help us win the war. We only have six month's time before we have to face Voldemort. I have a good feeling about this."

Sebastian looked into his father's tired eyes, pleading with his own.

"Alright, but first we need to give Aline time to heal. That and there is something I want to show you. Not now though, sometime soon though."

Several weeks had passed and with that Aline's strength returned as well. Luna, as Aline came to know, had managed to remove the curse that kept her from healing completely and soon after that Aline found herself better than before. Sebastian was always with her and after a meeting with his father, she found the topic of them used as a torture mechanism. How Harry Potter thought them to be an item she would never know. Sebastian Potter was an arrogant toerag. He charmed all the witches in the Order with his looks and ridiculously well-practiced phrases. Aline thought right through him and often reminded him of it. Although they fought a lot, she had to admit that he was an exceptional dueler and was also well in hand-to-hand combat.

Aline was accepted well enough into the Order and was liked by most of them. The only catch was that she had to use a glamor charm. She looked too much like Draco and Hermione for someone not to notice, Harry Potter had once said. Aline looked down at her black hair disdainfully, missing her blond locks when a quick rap greeted her.

"Come in." she said as she continued staring at the black hair.

"It's not that bad you know." came Sebastian's drawl.

Aline huffed and rolled over onto her stomach. Sebastian leaned against her door with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Easy for you to say, you were born with that mass of dark hair."

"Well as devilishly handsome this makes me, I must admit that it doesn't do much for your complection. It washes you out."

Aline opened her mouth to fire back a retort when he continued.

"Anyway, I didn't come here to discuss our hair or my good looks. I've come to tell you that we leave tonight."

"Really?" Aline asked excitedly, sitting up on her bed.

"Yes really. So pack up your things, my dad's going to see us off in a few hours at the pier."

Aline descended the stairs a quarter to midnight and saw that both Potter men were dressed and ready to go. They silently made their way to the back of the house. Sebastian's bike was parked outside and gleaming slightly in the dull light.

"Sebastian will be taking you on the bike while I apparate to the pier and make sure it's safe. Don't take too long." said Harry.

Aline and Sebastian nodded and mounted the bike wordlessly. Aline held onto Sebastian as he revved the accelerator like he had done at Malfoy Manor and within seconds she found herself soaring up above the clouds with her clothes sopping wet.

"You could have used the invisibility charm you know." she hollered.

"And miss a chance to see that shirt cling to you like that? No thanks." he laughed. Aline whacked him with the tip of her wand.

"Ow!" he yelled as he let out a stream of profanities. Aline enjoyed the silent ride after that.

The bike touched down effortlessly and came to a smooth stop. Sebastian didn't bother turning it off as he went to his father.

"So?" he prompted.

"Be careful you two, and keep each other safe. Sebastian, your mother wanted you to have this." he said as he went and gave him a long silver sword with a sapphire hilt.

"It was hers, she got it after she finished training with the Amazons. It has some magical charactersitics and the blade-work is nice."

"Thanks Dad." Sebastian said as he took the sword and put on the belt with scabbard around his waist.

"And Aline, here's one for you. This was given to your mother before she was taken. It was also given to her as a parting gift from the Amazons."

Aline took the silver sworld with the ruby hilt and also tied it around her waist.

"Thank you." she said, blinking rapidly to keep tears at bay.

"It's time that you two get a move on. If you want to be in New York City in the next few days you better go now. Do try and tell me how things are going and feel free to ask for anything you might need. I assume you're all packed and ready to go?"

Aline nodded her head and Sebastian patted his knapsack.

"Alright, off you go then. Goodbye." he said as he pulled them both in for a gentle hug.

Aline and Sebastian got on to his enchanted motorcycle and were soon off, Harry Potter's figure growing farther and farther as they climbed the dark sky. For the first time in a long time, Aline felt unsure and nervous. Taking a deep breath and looking down at the black ocean, she reminded herself that this is what she needed and with that smiled slightly at the thought of seeing her mother.

So there it is! You know what to do! :D  -LCF
