At breakfast the next morning things were somehow…strange. It was strange that Hermione couldn’t forget yesterdays talk. It was strange that the hall was somehow quite. But the strangest of all was that Harry wasn’t at breakfast. This was strange. Harry never sleeps in and Ron said he wasn’t there when he woke up. And Harry hasn’t missed breakfast since he killed Voldemort. And that worried Hermione as she sat in the great hall looking down onto her plate of untouched bacon. At that moment the owls arrived and Hermione’s usual Daily Profit came. She paid the owl and slowly opened the Profit. She wasn’t expecting to see anything and so she took her time. Nothing in the profit was of real importance anymore. That is until she noticed Ginny’s expression who was reading her Daily Profit. Quickly she ripped her’s open and the headline on the front page made her head spin.
Ministry Attack. 30 Officials killed!
The ministry hasn’t had any attacks since You-Know-Who vanished and so when at midnight this night Death Eaters attack was completely surprising. The ministry wasn’t prepared for a fight to brake out and all 30 ministry officials who were at the time in the ministry were killed. The only evidence of it being a Death Eater attack was the Dark mark that was up in the sky for another 3 hours and a note that stated ‘You filthy scrums. How dare you think you have won. We are rising once again and your precious Potter won’t save you now. Beware.’ News on what Harry Potter himself thinks about this is at the moment not known. The minister stated clearly that ‘At the moment. We can’t do much and we advise everybody to take precaution steps they had taken during You-Know-Who and if you have any suspicious on who might have done this please report to the ministry immediately’. As Hermione looked up she started feeling angry sick and pissed. Her stomach turned over at the thought of another 30 innocent people being killed. Her anger rose at the though that the stupid death eaters were the once to kill them and she was pissed that Harry didn’t wake her up when he found out. Yes she was sure he knew the second it happened. She got up with such force that everybody looked at her and the table shook. Giving Ginny one last look she quickly started running out the door and up to the headmaster’s office. She ran with light speed. As she came to the gargoyle she started quickly saying every single lolly she knew. Finally on Cotton Candy the secret passage to Dumbledore’s office opened and she stormed right up it. As she walked in she saw what she expected. Dumbledore and Harry were standing close together looking over a piece of paper on the desk.
“Arg Miss Granger” said Dumbledore looking at Hermione.
“Professor would it be okay if I shouted at Mr Potter for a while. He has explaining to do” she said in an angry tone looking at Harry who was avoiding her eyes.
“That won’t be necessary Miss Granger. You see I--” Dumbledore started but was cut off with Ron and Ginny running into the room.
“What is the meaning of this??” shouted Ron.
“Mr Weasley please come down and I will explain everything” said Dumbledore as he gestered to four sits near the table.
As they all sat he continued.
“Now as I was saying I asked Harry not to tell anybody when I woke him up. This matter is serious and we didn’t need the whole school up at 12 at night” he said in a very calm voice.
“Professor? Does this mean Voldermort is back” asked Hermione focusing on the main problem.
“It doesn’t mean that entirely, however it does suggest that the death eaters are trying to get their master back” said Dumbledore looking at Harry as though encouraging him to speak. Hermione noticed this and decided to ask herself.
“Harry you need to tell us something? What is it” she asked looking at Harry who had his eyes down.
“Oh you always crack me. Alright the profit doesn’t know the whole truth. They found two note’s. one is the one in the newspaper while the other” said Harry as he took the piece of paper on the desk and handed it to Hermione who read it allowed.
“Potter. You took something from us it’s only fair we take something from you. Since that’s what you care about what’s fair and what’s not. Isn’t it?? Doesn’t matter. Be careful Potter we’ll take all the people close too you. And we’ll start with your stupid side-kicks and your blood-traitor you call a girlfriend. We’ll see who has the last laugh.” She finished with a breaking voice and looked at Harry.
“Okay so they want to kill us. They always have” she said trying to remain calm.
“No their usual goal was me but now they are focused on you and it’s all my fault. If I told you to stay then--” he was cut of by Ginny
“If you told us to stay we wouldn’t be here talking to you at all. So don’t you blame yourself Harry James Potter! We singed up for this and so we fight together” she nearly shouted.
“Alright why don’t you go back to your dormitories. I need to visit the ministry and I allow you to skip all class” said Dumbledore as he stood up.
“Sir can I-” started Harry but was cut off.
“No Harry stay with your friends I need to do this alone” said Dumbledore as he led them out the door. As they walked out he closed it behind them.
The walk to the dormitories was silent. As they came to the fat lady not a word has been said. “Stone Hill” said Ron and they all walked in when the portrait opened. No one was in the common room as all were in class. They all sat down on the couches next to the fireblase without taking until Harry broke the silence.
“You have to leave”
“What? No we aren’t leaving” said Hermione as she looked at Harry.
“It’s too dangerous here. It’s the first place they will look” he said looking at Hermione.
“They can’t get in” pointed Ron out.
“Can’t get in? Who are we kidding? They found a way in 6th year with Aurors in the school and we found a way in as well so they can find some other way in” he said throwing his hands in the air.
“We won’t leave unless it’s with you. We won’t leave you” said Ginny looking at the fire.
“I’ll be with Dumbledore nothing can be safer” said Harry in a matter-of-fact tone.
“No Harry we aren’t leaving and you cant make us we are in this together and we will do all that is needed and we wont hide away” said Hermione getting up.
“But don’t you see?? That is what is needed. We need you to be safe in hiding away from here” shouted Harry as he too stood up.
“We had this type of conversation before bell’s and fleur’s wedding. Our answer is still the same. We are with you no matter what” shouted Ron as he two stood up.
“Harry listen. We won’t hide. It’s cowardish. We’ll fight that’s why we are in Gryffindor” said Ginny as she too stood up.
“You need to be safe. How am I supposed to do this not knowing if you are safe” said Harry.
“You are supposed to see us next to you to make sure we are alive” said Ron as he walked to the boys dormitories but stopped when Hermione spoke once more.
“Harry you won’t win this fight. There are three of us and one of you” she said simply walking to the dormitories followed by Ginny.
Before walking in she turned and said
“Please don’t do anything stupid that will make us be angry with you ” she said in a calm tone.
“Like what” snapped Harry it was obvious he was pissed.
“Like try send us away without our permission. We’ll haunt you down and then when we helped you fight these stupid death eaters we will be very very angry” she said all this in a serious tone smiling a bit at the end before giving Ron a look that said go-in-now-and-slam-the-door then giving Harry one final glance before walking in after Ginny and slamming the door behind her.
