A/N: Sorry that it took me so long to update...I was on vacation and didn't have Internet access. I worked really hard to make this chapter as long as I possibly could to make up for it. I know its still short but it was even shorter before I took some stuff from the next chapter to put it into this one. I hope u enjoy!
Now, enough of my rambling... :D
When is he going to get down here? she thought impatiently. Ginny was sitting in the dining room and she was currently completely alone. She'd been alone for the last several minutes, ever since she'd come down for breakfast. Normally he was aleady seated, and of course looking very impatient when she arrived, despite the fact that she was on time. Usually. There were a couple of exceptions to that. So for him to be late...it was ever so slightly abnormal.
There were several reasons she was impatient, the main one being that she'd been up since five o'clock in the morning, a mixture of sleeplessness and nerves and she was sick of waiting. The sleeplessness was not so bad, she could always catch up on that later, but the nerves she hated. Those were mainly due to her plans for Draco.
There was always the concern that something would go wrong, that was the worst, there was the anticipation for his reaction...and of course she knew that he was going to try and get revenge. She had to admit though, she was kind of interested to see what he came up with. And she knew he wouldn't let her go unpunished, especially not after what she had planned for him. It would have been that much more interesting if it wasn't going to be directed at her.
Ginny sighed and glanced at her Muggle wristwatch for what had to the thousandth time. I really thought he got up earlier than this. She sat there for a few minutes more, punctuating them with more sighs and glances at her watch. And then something finally happened. The house elf had just brought in breakfast and she'd gone to take her seat when there was a crash from somewhere above her head, a very loud stream of profanities that steadily moved closer to her, and then the sound of Draco yelling at the top of his lungs, "GINEVRA WEASLEY!"
Ginny's eyebrows rose and a second later Draco burst through the dining room door, headed straight for her. Ginny covered her mouth with her hands. Initially the move was out of shock at the sight of him but then it was to keep from laughing out loud at what she saw.
He was barefoot, dressed in black pants and a black shirt that he'd left untucked and a livid expression. The best part, however, was the crimson red hair he was sporting.
He got up real close to her and once within inches of her face, yelled, "What did you do?!"
Ginny instantly moved her hands from her mouth to her ears and hurried back several steps from him. "Wow! Are you trying to make me go deaf? And who said I did anything?"
"I know you did it! And right now I don't really care if you go deaf. Why should I?"
"Because then I couldn't help you." For a second Draco looked like he was going to protest but then thought better of it. She pointed him towards a chair as she calmly said, "Now why don't you sit down and tell me what the problem is."
Draco glared at her. "Don't even start, smart-aleck."
Ginny shrugged. "Whatever you say." She waited until he had taken a seat before she sat down. She took her dear sweet time doing so, just to irk him further. And she was very careful to keep her distance from him.
"I can tell you that you can't remove it..."
Draco didn't give her the chance to get any farther than that before he started to freak out again. He stood up, his expression horrified. "What?! You..."
This time it was Ginny who interrupted. "Sit down, you didn't let me finish." Draco seemed to think about this for a second and as he thought his hair changed to royal blue. And Ginny found this absolutely hilarious.
She bit her lip to keep from laughing but ended up snorting slightly instead. He glared at her again, despite the fact that his neon hair kept it from having any potency whatsoever. "This really isn't funny."
"Will you just continue with what you were saying?" he demanded angrily, his voice suddenly tinged with impatience.
"Its called Morphing Goop and is a product in my brothers' joke shop." She paused long enough in her explaination to chuckle and exclaim, "Are they brilliant or what!" Draco rolled his eyes. She sobered and continued, "Anyway, it will change the color of your hair every ten minutes for the next twenty-four hours. Then it will disappear and you'll be fine."
"You have to be kidding me." Draco said slowly. It appeared that he was very much hoping that she was kidding.
"Sorry, I'm not kidding.' She shrugged one shoulder. "Actually, I'm not particularly sorry," Ginny said with a broad grin and a shake of her head.
"I didn't think so." Draco got up from the chair and stalked away.
"You know, you really should be more careful what you put in you hair, especially seeing as it is now blue!" He growled and she picked up a plate full of food, held it out and she called to him cheerily as he left, "Wait! Don't you want any breakfast?"
Ginny set the plate down, still grinning widely, and began to eat. She took her time, enjoying the food, but mainly enjoying the absence of the annoying, conceited prat she'd been having to endure. When she was finished she went to the library to read for awhile, but she was too restless and quickly became bored. So she then headed upstairs to plan for the next step in her revenge plan.
It was lunch time and Draco was once again late. Only by a minute though. He came in and sat down and Ginny snickered at the sight of his hot pink hair. Draco heard her and glared but she just ignored him and started eating.
As she swallowed a bite she saw him reach for his glass from the corner of her eye. Much to her to her delight he took a large gulp from the glass; it turned out to be his last drink of it. As soon as the liquid was in his mouth he turned a vaguely green color, which really clashed with his still vibrant, pink hair, and headed for the closest door.
When he came back several minutes later he found Ginny with her head on the table, holding her sides and laughing. Draco chose to wait until she'd composed herself before he said anything. "What the bloody heck was that for?!" he yelled.
Ginny stopped laughing and stood up to face him. "Think. Think really hard."
Now he was somewhat confused. Had he guessed wrong? "I only kissed you twice!"
"Okay, let me give you a little hint." She walked in a slow circle around him as she spoke. "Think back to the other day in your library.... Ringing any bells yet?" As she finished speaking she came back around to the front of him and leaned against the table behind her.
"But I didn't kiss you then. I didn't actually do anything."
Ginny smiled sweetly at him. "No, but you were thinking about it. And you know what they say...its the thought that counts." She pushed away from the table and said, "I trust you've learned your lesson?"
She headed for the door, making sure to brush up against him on her way past as she added, "Its okay if you haven't though, because I have plenty more where this came from and I am having so much fun."
Draco turned towards her and replied, "If you wanted a fight well then you've got yourself one, Weasley. You are going to pay for this."
Ginny backed out the door as she waved her hands in the air, made a face and answered, "Oooh, I'm scared now."
