“Rose! Where in Merlin’s name did you get that ring?” Cassie shrieked, seeing the gorgeous ring upon her best friend’s hand a few days after coming back from holiday break.

Rose groaned, knowing this was going to get tiring. So far, the entire Gryffindor seventh year class had asked about her ring. She was tired of people asking and tired of having to say it was just a promise ring. “It’s a promise ring. Don’t get too excited just yet.”

“That’s some promise ring Rose! It’s more of an engagement ring.” Heather stated from where she sat in the library.

Rose shut her book and stood to put it away on a shelf. Cassie ran over to Rose and asked, “So, has he asked you yet?”

“What are you talking about?” Rose smiled, teasing.

“Oh you know! To marry him!” Cassie groaned.

Rose laughed. “Please Cassie. We’re only seventeen.”

“And totally perfect for each other! Oh come on Rose!” Cassie stated loudly.

“Be quiet! This is a library, not some loud Quidditch Pitch!” The old librarian Madame Townsend stated furiously from beind a book shelf.

Cassie and Rose burst into giggles and Cassie whispered, “You know he’s going to ask you sometime right?”

“Well I don’t know. It depends on what happens and if we don’t-” Rose shrugged, looking at a book.

Cassie rolled her eyes. “Please. You won’t ever break up. He’s the perfect boyfriend-”

“And I’ll take that as a compliment.” Rose smiled, hearing Scorpius’ voice.

Cassie smiled. “See? Scorpius Malfoy, you are an eavesdropper.”

“Is it against the law to go to the library?” Scorpius grinned, walking from behind to a bookshelf over to the two girls.

“Mhm. It should be.” Cassie teased.

Rose sighed and looked around upon hearing a sneezing. “Oh great. Scorp, who’d you bring along?”

“I didn’t bring anyone.” He stated.

“Mhm.” Rose smiled, hearing a groaning from behind the bookshelf from where her boyfriend had appeared.

Rose looked around and stated, “Albus Potter, quit snooping!”

Albus appeared, “I’m with Scorpius. Can’t a guy go to the library if he wants?”

Cassie giggled and Rose gave her seventeen year old cousin a look. “Please don’t even think of eavesdropping again or so help me-”

    “Alright! Don’t-” Albus groaned.

“The lot of you hoolagins! Please leave the library! I’ve had enough of your shouting!” Madame Townsend stated furiously.

We left the library as quickly as we could. Scorpius laughed. “She has ears like a wolf!”

“I think she was one, in another life.” Cassie laughed.

Albus whistled, “Well I’ll just be on my way-”

“Not so fast cousin.” Rose grabbed his arm, stopping him. “How much did you hear?”

“Why does it matter? I’m not going to go spread it about the school-” Albus stated, running a hand through his dark hair.

Rose sighed. “What did you think you’d hear?”

“I dunno. Hey Scorpius was there too you know. Why aren’t you yelling at him?” Albus asked curiously.

“He’s my boyfriend. I tell him practically everything anyway.” Rose sighed.

Cassie smiled and Albus stated nervously. “Well I err got Quidditch practice now…I’ll just be off.”

He quickly left and Scorpius mentioned. “Practice isn’t for another hour.”

Rose smiled. “I guess he likes someone.”

“Mhm. And what are you planning?” He grinned, putting his arm around her.

Rose shrugged. “Well there’s a trip to Hogsmeade coming up isn’t there?”

Cassie asked confused, “Rose, what are you-”

Rose smiled at Cassie. “Oh nothing. I have to go talk to Professor Taylor about my Charms essay. See you later.”

Cassie looked at Scorpius as Rose walked off. “What’s going on?”

He grinned. “I don’t know any more than you.”

The trip to Hogsmeade came. Rose threw on some jeans and a red long sleeved shirt and brushed her curly hair. Then she and Heather got Cassie up and ready. Cassie sighed. “Why bother now? I don’t have a date-”

“You might find a guy who’s single and needs someone to take around. C’mon Cassie! Just because Heather’s going with Zach and I’m with Scorp, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go!” Rose pleaded.

Cassie groaned and reluctantly followed the two outside to the carriages. She sighed, sitting across from Rose and Heather. They’d be meeting their dates in the Three Broomsticks. The late January air was still rather chilly and there was still snow falling, making it too cold to do any walking around the village. They arrived and entered the Three Broomsticks, glad to be somewhere warm. Heather had to practically pull Cassie over to a table. Cassie sighed. “I still don’t see the worth in coming.”

Rose smiled. “It’ll be worth it. Trust me.”

Scorpius entered and walked over to them. He sat next to Rose and she kissed him. “Hey. Where’s Zach and-”

“Coming.” Scorpius said, looking over to where a dark brown haired guy stood, pulling Albus inside.

    Rose smiled. “Perfect.”

Cassie stood. “I am going back to school. I don’t see why I even came-”

Then Cassie walked right into Albus. She softly apologized and Rose smiled, seeing the startled looks they both had. Albus said softly, “I wasn’t really paying attention, it’s my fault.”

Cassie smiled as he asked. “Can I buy you a drink?”

    “I’d like that.” Cassie nodded.

He grabbed her hand, and she turned to Rose, “I’m going to hang with Albus okay? See you guys later.”

    Rose smiled. “Well go already!”

Cassie giggled and walked off with Albus to a booth in the back. Rose high fived Heather and then Zach. “We are so good.”

Scorpius looked at Rose. “You planned that?”

“Yeah. They’ve obviously liked each other for ages! I know Al has no nerve to ask Cassie out and Cassie was worried he’d say no so I figured setting them up would be best.” Rose shrugged.

Heather sighed. “Great. I just thought of it. They’re going to start acting like you and Scorpius.”

Scorpius teased. “Aw I’m hurt by that comment Heather.”

Rose smiled, kissing his cheek. “Are we that bad Heather?”

“Well I just feel like you two never argue.” Heather shrugged.

Rose stated. “We argue plenty of times.”

“Mhm. When was the last time?” Zach asked, grinning.

    Scorpius shrugged. “Does it matter?”

Heather shrugged and smiled at Rose, “Well have fun with the perfect boyfriend. I’ll see you later.”

She stood and left with Zach. Rose looked at Scorpius. “When was the last time we fought about something?”

Later, Rose was walking down the hall, reading a book. She walked right into Scorpius. She apologized, looking up from her book. “Sorry Scorp.”

“No problem. What are you doing right now?” He asked curiously.

“Studying for that Charms test we have this Tuesday. I can’t fail. I’m doing miserable as it is in that class.” Rose sighed, going back to her book.

Scorpius sighed. “Can’t it wait? You’ve been studying for over an hour. You need a break sometime.”

“I need to pass Scorpius! I can’t just fail the class!” Rose stated firmly.

Scorpius shrugged. “The test isn’t until Tuesday. It’s Sunday.”

Rose sighed. “I know. Which is why I need to study now!”

He stated. “You’ll do fine. I don’t see why you’re stressing-”

“Maybe it’s because I can’t afford to live the rest of my life doing nothing! Maybe it’s because I need to get a good job because MY parents aren’t paying for everything when I’m done with school!” Rose argued.

“What’s that supposed to mean Rose?” He asked with a hint of anger.

Rose groaned. “Nothing. I’m just stressed okay?”

“It wasn’t just ‘nothing’. Were you saying my parents are extremely rich and I don’t need to try in school because I won’t need a job?” Scorpius asked angrily.

Rose argued. “I didn’t try to make it sound that way! But I guess it’s true! Your father does have enough money with his wonderful job! I’m sorry my parents can’t afford a luxurious life because they wouldn’t accept money from the ministry after the Great Battle!”

Scorpius protested. “Don’t think my father has it easy Rose! He almost got sent to Azkaban-”

“Yeah for being a bloody death eater!” Rose shouted.

Scorpius shouted. “Well it was no picnic for him! He was pressured!”

“Oh yeah I’ve heard all the stories!” Rose shouted back.

Scorpius stated angrily, “And only one side!”

“Are you suggesting my parents are bias?” Rose asked angrily.

    “It’s nothing.” Scorpius stated.

“Oh because it didn’t sound like ‘nothing’.” Rose argued.

    Scorpius sighed. “Just stop it.”

“Stop what? Fighting! We may as well! Everyone thinks we’re perfect we may as well fight!” Rose shouted.

A group of students stopped, watching. Scorpius shouted at them. “Go back to your bloody lives!”

They ran off and Rose shouted. “Did you have to say it like that?”

    “Like what?” Scorpius asked angrily.

“Like your father when he yells at somebody!” Rose stated angrily.

Scorpius stated. “Your father’s not perfect either. Remember the ring argument?”

“Oh yeah. The ring my mother thinks is an engagement ring! Thanks for that by the way! She cornered me and had a talk with me saying how it was inappropriate for us to be engaged at such a young age!” Rose stated.

“It was not meant as an engagement ring!” Scorpius stated.

Rose felt tears in her eyes. She quickly took the ring off her finger and gave it to him. “Fine. Have it back then.”

“Rose..” Scorpius softly said, starting to calm down.

Rose shook her head and started walking off. Scorpius ran after her, “Rose stop a second! I-”

She turned and cried. “I don’t want it! Just leave me alone!”

That said, she ran off down the hall, tears streaming from her eyes. Scorpius made to run after her but Albus stopped him. “Leave her alone Scorpius. She’ll cool down and before you know it, she’ll be begging for you back.”

Scorpius bit his lip. He wasn’t sure if Albus was right…

a/n: I know, be mad at me if you want for not updating. I'm sorry. I don't know how many times I can say it. I understand if you hated this chapter. I took so long to write it and I'm not sure if it was good. Ugh I've had some personal issues with my family lately and exams (which I'm done with hallelujah and I did good). And I have had so little writing time. Don't worry, I'm not giving up just yet on this story. And I'm rambling. Well I hope this was an ok chapter. :)
