A/n: Hello there all, I am really loving this story right now and this chapter while it may not be super interesting there is a lot of James/Della which is just adorable really and you just get a little background.

Anyways please enjoy, and please review you do not understand how happy they make me! And when I get reviews I also want to write way more.

Disclaimer: I don't own it.

Liam looking all cute like.

The night was perfect really, one of the best nights of my life so far. I woke up early to get a head start on the day, kissed Matt good morning and then made my way to the kitchens. When I got there I asked the house elves to make some pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns for me, then I grabbed a goblet full of pumpkin juice and headed up to Gryffindor tower. After showering and getting changed into a pair of jeans a green sweater I left my room and headed over to the boy's side of the tower.

“James Sirius Potter, get that fit arse up right this second we are not wasting anymore of this day,” I said as I kicked open the door to the boy's dorm and walked over to his bed. I heard groans from around the room and saw James sit up and rub his eyes.

“Brought you some breakfast in bed,” I told him with a smirk as he finally opened his eyes.

“You are a doll,” he said as I placed the tray down on his lap.

“Yes, yes I know now put this on,” I said throwing a shirt to him from off the floor.

“Aw come on Dell, it's not like it's a bad sight,” he said as he pulled me towards him and hugged me.

“You know you sure are making it hard for me to remember why I wanted to dedicate this day to you,” I told him.

“Hm, I think I remember the reason, it has something to do with you forget...” but before he could finish I put my hand over his mouth.

“You know, you don't have to put that shirt on if you don't want to,” I said with a cheesy smile and I felt him smirk beneath my hand.

“Hey! Where is my breakfast,” I heard Liam complain from across the room.

“Dell just doesn't love you as much as me,” James said with a smug look on his face.

“Ah that hurts Della,” He said as he clutched his heart and I rolled my eyes.

“Don't be such a baby Liam,” I told him.

“Myeu Grun un pire,” James mumbled his mouth full of food.

“Wanna try that again there bro?” Miles said from his bed.

“I said, yeah grow a pair,” James said after he swallowed his food, to which Liam threw a shoe across the room which almost hit me in the head but James caught it.

“You are bloody lucky that I was blessed with good reflexes because if that hit her you would really have to grow a pair because yours would be gone,” James said as Liam looked very scared.

“Down boy, it didn't hit me, now go take a shower and get ready to spend a swell day with me,”

“Fine,'” he said as he walked into the bathroom.

“Glad to see that you two made up,” Brayden said from his bed.

“Seriously he was being such an emo fag when you guys weren't talking,” Miles continued.

“I don't know I think moody James was better, he was less scary,” Liam said still looking a little scared and we all just laughed, well besides Liam. I laid on James' bed and talked to the guys waiting for him to come out and when he finally did I saw him clad only in a towel.

“James are you trying to blind me?” I asked as I covered my eyes.

“If you mean blind you by how amazing I look then no I'm not trying too, I was just blessed with a heavenly body,” he said as he chuckled at his own joke.

“Right, right just get dressed,” I told him my eyes still covered.

“Done!” he said after a few minutes and I peeked through my fingers to find him actually dressed. He was wearing his favorite t-shirt which was an old bright orange Chudley Cannon's shirt that was a little tight on him considering he got it about five years ago, and a pair of jeans.

“Good, now come on,” I said jumping off the bed and grabbing his arm dragging him out of their dorm, the common room, and then the castle.

“Where we goin?” James asked in a sing songy manner.

“Where do you think?” I asked him, I mean we were walking in the direction of the Quidditch pitch and that really was the only thing over there.

“Haven't the foggiest,” he said as I turned to see him smirk and wink at me, I just shook my head and laughed. I decided to take him to the Quidditch pitch because we spent a lot of time there especially with him dragging me to his practices every Sunday.

When we go to the pitch I laid down on the grass and James laid down beside me our heads next to each other. It was a surprisingly warm day for November and the sky was clear with a few clouds to make our view pretty good.

“Quiz me,” I told him after we laid silent for awhile.

“On what?”

“Your favorite subject,”

“Exactly,” I said and he laughed.

“Alright, we will start with an easy one. When is my birthday?”

“October 5th,” I said rolling my eyes even though he couldn't see.

“Middle name,”

“Sirius, come on thats too easy,”

“Okay, okay, who is my favorite uncle and why?”

“George, because he is the most like yourself,”

“What is the best present I ever got?”

“Your first broom,”

“Who was my first kiss?”

“Jenny Longbottom, when you were 7 and she was 9,”

“What am I afraid of?”

“Clowns, because of the time your Aunt Hermionie took you to a circus when you were little, and your afraid of not getting out of your dad's shadow,”

“Dell, your not having any trouble with these, you obviously know me,” he said.

“I know, I just wanted to make sure,” I said with a sigh.

“Hey, your my best mate, you are allowed to have one major screw up, plus I was being a right jerk back at you,”

“You really weren't that bad, I mean you had plenty of reason,”

“Did you forget our fight about Brynn, because I know I was being a git there. I got you so pissed you put me into the hospital wing!” He said while laughing, and I groaned.

“Please don't remind me of that, I swear someone took over my body and did that not me,” I said.

“Della, that was probably the most hilarious thing that has ever happened to me, which is why I never ratted you out. That and the fact that you had to be sent to the hospital wing yourself because you were so freaked,” he said.

“Well good to know that me almost killing you is a bloody laugh,”

“Oh come on, you didn't almost kill me just gave me a little cut and lit me on fire,”

“That cut was not little there was blood everywhere and I was freaking out too much to do anything to stop it or put the fire out,”

“I guess I will have to thank Brayden for saving my life then,” he said still laughing.

“It's not funny James,”

“Seriously, it's a little bit funny,”

“No, no it's not,”

“Come on stop being such a grump, I''m the one who got hurt here and I think it was funny so you can too,”

“Sorry I don't like thinking that my best mate is dead, that was a traumatic experience,”

“But see I'm not dead, so it's okay to laugh about it,” he said.

“James it was scary,”

“You know what the funniest bit was?” He asked me.

“None of it,” I replied cheekily.

“No, your face, you were so mad at me. Honestly it was all I could do to keep from bursting up laughing while you were yelling at me,” and at this I did kind of laugh a little bit.

“I was a bit crazy wasn't I?” I said.

“A bit? I would say more than a bit, but that is why I love you,” he said and we both had a good laugh at that one.

“Speaking of love though, how was your anniversary,”

“It was really, really amazing Matt did so much for me,” James huffed a bit at that.

“Well good, I mean that's nice for you guys,” he said and then we stayed silent for a bit because it was kind of awkward, Matt and I was the one thing we never talked about.

“So, you love him right?” James asked after awhile.

“Yeah, I really do,”

“How do you know?” He asked me curiously.

“It's hard to explain, I just feel it. When you fall in love you will understand,” I said and James let out a small laugh.

“What's it like? Being in love,”

“Well it's different, I mean to care about someone so much like that. It's sort of like how you care about your family, except there is just that different element there, because not only would you do anything for them but there is just this separate feeling of joy when you are around them, unlike anything you have ever felt before. It's sensational really. Every time I am with him my heart soars and I find myself smiling for no good reason. He is the reason I get up in the morning and I never get tired of being around him, even if we are just sitting there doing absolutely nothing,”

“Sounds about right,” James mumbled but I couldn't quiet understand him.

“What?” I asked.

“Oh nothing, just it sounds kind of like I would have imagined it. Pretty great huh?”

“Yeah, it's extraordinary,” I said and we laid in silence again.

“Anyways, good for you guys then. I mean even though I don't like the bloke, I can't deny that he is good too you, and for you. Your glowing,”

“Thank you James. That is one of the sweetest things you have ever said to me. I really appreciate it, and I know that Matt does too,” I told him and that was the truth. I was really glad that James wasn't letting Matt come between us anymore because I hated having to deal with their childish fights.

“No problem, what are friends for,” he replied making me smile.

He was really growing up.

“I can't wait for you to find love James. You deserve it more than anyone,” I said and James laughed.

“Love and me don't seem to be the best of mates,”

“You know there are plenty of girls who fancy themselves in love with you and would do anything for you,” I told him thinking of Brynn and my roommates.

“Ah see but none of them really know me, and besides none of them are the right girl for me,” he said.

“Well she will come around,” I said nudging his hand with mine which he took hold of as he sighed, and silence filled the Quidditch pitch again.

“So, how is Albus doing?” I asked after awhile because I was curious as too how him and his family were getting along.

“I just don't know what to do with him anymore,” he said with a sigh, really this guy could sigh for Britain. “I mean honestly, becoming friends with Malfoy? What in the world is going through that big brain of his,”

“You know, Malfoy doesn't seem like that bad of a guy,” I suggested because really he didn't and Albus wouldn't be friends with a horrible person. Plus someone would have to be extremely intelligent to pull the wool over Al's eyes, so it wasn't as if Scorpius was fooling everyone or something like that.

“He's in love with Lily,” James said and for a second I had no idea who he was talking about.

“Scorpius? He loves Lily?” I asked seriously confused.

“Yes.” James growled out.

“How do you know that?” I asked in disbelief.

“It's the way he looks at her. He has been in love with her for years actually. I used to not worry about it because they never even talked, but now that Al is bringing him around he is going to get his hopes up and start actually hitting on her and that is just unacceptable,” he said.

You see James is fiercely protective of Lily, really from my point of view it's kind of cute because he loves her so much. Lily though, must hate it, because I know I would really get annoyed if James didn't let me talk to boys. He is just the type of person that really looks out for those people he loves although in different ways with each person. With Al he gives him tough love, and with Lily it's a protective love. Those two get the worst of it though because he cares about them more than almost everyone.

“I know you are pretty protective of Lily, but what is so wrong with him loving her if he isn't hurting her there shouldn't be a problem,”

“He isn't good enough for her! Far from it actually. He is scum and will corrupt my baby sister,”

“James you say that about every guy that likes Lily. Is there ever going to be someone who is good enough for Lily in your eyes?” I asked him even though I knew the answer would be no.

“Well I have never seen a bloke who was even close,”

“Look James, I love Lily and she is an amazing girl, but saying that no one is good enough for her is just dooming her to a lonely life,”

“It won't be lonely. Do you think someone could be lonely with me as a brother or with the Weasley clan as relatives?”

“You should still let her make the decision if she wants to be with a guy or not,”

“She is too young, and besides she sees the best in people and we have seen how well she has done with her choice of boys so far. I mean honestly Dell, it's like you want my little sister to be corrupted,”

“Dating a boy doesn't mean being corrupted James, am I corrupted?” I asked him.

“No, but whatever your not going to change my mind let's talk about something else before I go a rip Malfoy's beady little eye's out of his head so he can't look at my precious baby sister anymore,” he said in a growl and I had to hold back my laugh.

“Alright, how are your career counseling sessions going?”

“Well you know me, I have always known that I wanted to play Quiddith professionally after school so that is mainly it. Longbottom has always said that I was definitely good enough to go pro but that he thought it was me taking the easy way out. I usually just ignore him because what is the point in ignoring my natural given talents because it comes easier for me. That just doesn't make sense. But since he is always on my case you know I am taking all of the core classes just in case I need something to fall back on,”

“You really aren't going to need it, I know you can make it in the big leagues,”

“Yeah well Madame Hooch told me that she has already heard that scouts from a lot of the big teams who usually come and check out the 7th years have been asking about me. So I really don't think I will need a fall back either, but it's nice to have there and it reassures my parents and Longbottom,”

“My best mate the famous Quidditch star. I knew I was friends with you for something,”

“If you were friends with me for fame you wouldn't have been waiting around for me to become a Quidditch star, you would have pulled in the Potter card a long time ago,”

“I guess you have a point there, but what was that you told me the day you met me, that what your dad being famous had to do with you is that you inherited his genes and you were 'ruddy good at Quidditch' because of them,” I said making him laugh.

“I was a stuck up little git back then wasn't I?” He said still laughing.

“Still are,” I said and he feigned shock.

“My heart, it's breaking,” he said through fake sobs.

“Oh shut your gob you big goon you know as well as I do you are still as stuck up as you were back then,”

“Yes and you know as well as I do that I am not so little, that is what I was offended by,” he said as we both laughed and I hit him playfully.

“Your a right pig, you know that?”

“Yes, yes I know, but I'm your pig,” he said as he nuzzled his head against mine.

“Oi! Stop it!” I said through laughs until he finally settled down.

“And how are your creepy nerd like potion desires coming along?” He asked me and I laughed. James had always hated potions, partially because Slughorn would probably lick the bottom of his feet if James asked him too, but he hated potions and always had a go at me for enjoying it.

“Pretty well Longbottom set me up with a few distributing companies to send in applications too, and even told me about this new research development company that he thinks I might be interested in,”

“That sounds great, what is this new company all about though?”

“Yeah it's a really great opportunity for me. The new company though has it's employees start out in a sort of training program that travels around the world looking for new ingredients and gathering other rare ones to use in many different potions. Apparently you can stay at that level for up to 4 years before moving back to a permanent location. I love traveling and all so it would be great but that would mean 4 years being away from everyone and having little to no contact with them,” I said and James whistled.

“Wow. You think you could handle that?” he asked.

“I really don't know, I mean I have been thinking about it a lot lately and I think it would be okay being away from most people except for two. You and Matt. For one I have been around you almost every day for the past seven years of my life, and to just pack up and leave for four years and never see you I don't know if I could do it. Plus it would be really hard not being able to see Matt, and would really strain our relationship. I would like to think that our love is strong enough that we could get through it but I just don't know. Besides all that even if I wasn't traveling all around the world it would be hard enough to see you if I was staying home. I mean with both of you planning on going pro you would be traveling too and depending on what team you make you could be staying In a different country yourself. It would probably be easier if I just stayed stationary so I could actually get some chance of seeing you two in stead of really having no chance.”

“Now you shouldn't give up on such a great opportunity because we are traveling and one person in the relationship should be stationary, that isn't fair to you. I would never ask you to stay put on my account. If this is something you really want to do, then you should do it,” he said and it really brought a smile to my face and I rolled over and hugged him.

“But it was hard enough not talking to you for the past couple of weeks, I mean it was really killing me! Imagine how hard it would be if I had to go without even seeing you for four years!”

“Well that worry is understandable, I have heard that James Potter withdrawals are some of the worst people go through. Luckily I never have to deal with them though,” he said and I lifted my head off of him and gave him the you-so-did-not-just-say-that look.

“Oh shut up,” I said as I hit him playfully again but laughed anyway.

“Come on, you know that was a good one,” he said smirking.

“Yeah, yeah whatever Potter,” I said as I rolled off of him back to my spot next to him when I heard a sound that was like a whimpering dog.

“What in the world was that?” I asked.

“Ha, well, it could have been my stomach,” James said sheepishly making me laugh.

“Didn't you just have breakfast?”

“That was AGES ago Dell,” he whined.

“Okay you baby, you ready for phase two?” I asked him.

“Yeah yeah!” He cheered like a little kid.

“Well let's go get the map and the cloak, because were going to Hogsmeade,” I said with a smirk and James whooped. We went and got the things then took the secret passage into the town, headed over to the three broomsticks and ordered lunch.

“Now don't even think about paying for anything today, it is all on me.” I told him sternly as we waited for our food to come.

“Aye aye Captain!” James said in a salute and I just rolled my eyes. After lunch we headed to Honeydukes to load up on his favorite sweets.

“Don't forget the Liquorice wands!” He called over his shoulder as he ran towards the chocolate frogs his favorite.

“But James, you hate Liquorice wands,” I said laughing at his antics.

“Yes, but you don't” he said as he gave me my special smile, which made me smile. They were my favorite that was true so I grabbed a pack and threw them in the basket.

Honestly, when did he get so thoughtful?

After Honeydukes, I took him to the Weasley Wizard Wheeze that was put in after they took over Zonko's and let him pick out some things as he chatted with the workers who he all knew, sadly his uncle was out so we couldn't talk to him but it was still a nice stop.

Our last stop was Gladrags where I told James to get a new Chudley Cannons shirt because his was getting small and he obliged but only after I agreed to get a matching one, and he made us wear them out of the shop.

After that we headed up to the Shrieking shack and James took me in it like he did back in first year. I was terrified back then, what with hearing all the rumors about the place but James assured me that it was alright because all the howls they used to hear coming from it were just his dead uncle Remus who was a werewolf. I think that scared me more than the rumors did, but I went with him anyway, I had to show my Gryffindor courage after all. We had a jolly time there making noise and throwing snowballs at the students who came to look at the shack so we made it a stop every time we went into Hogsmeade now.

When we got there James emptied the candy on the floor and we started to make our way through the contents of the bag. I was fairly stuffed as we sat on one of the old couches in the room and I found it hard to keep my eyes open and eventually I stopped fighting it and laid down on James and decided to take a nap. When I woke up I found James still sitting there with his head leaned back snoring very loudly his glasses sliding off his nose. I laughed slightly then plugged his nose which made him cough then sputter as his eyes shot open.

“Goodness Dell, you had me thinking I was going to die or something,” he said as I started laughing hysterically.

“Couldn't resist with you snoring like a troll and all,” I said after I composed myself.

“Yeah, yeah, you know I thought today was supposed to be you making up for missing my birthday, and you know that kind of hurt,” he said with a pout as he rubbed his nose.

“Aw poor little JimmyJam,” I said as I kissed the tip of his nose. “Feel all better?”

“I guess so but you know my lips kind of hurt too,” he said wiggling his eyebrows at me.

“Nuh uh James Potter, No more kisses for you, I have a boyfriend remember,” I told him.

“How could I forget,” he mumbled under his breath.

“Shall we?” I asked as I stood up and held my hand out to him.

“I guess it is about dinner time so we could go hangout with the guys,” he said.

“Ugh, I think I might throw up if I see anymore food,”

“Not me! I'm starting to get hungry again.” James said

“What are you a bottomless pit?” I asked laughing.

“You know my eating habits Dell, you should expect this, us Weasley men are no meager eaters,” he said puffing out his chest and making me laugh again.

“Alright you Weasley man let's get going,” I said as I held out my arm to him and he linked his through mine.

I was laughing with James as it should be when I walked into the great hall and heard it fall quiet as all the heads in the room turned towards us.

“Why are they staring at us, think it might be the matching shirts” I whispered to James with a smirk.

“Dell, look up there,” he said seriously and I turned my head to find a banner hung over the Gryffindor table.

“Little Della Haynes has been sneaking around with James Potter behind her boyfriend Matt Hilton's back. Not only did they take each other's virginities but they also snogged after the Ravenclaw vs. Gryffindor Quidditch game this year. Looks like she isn't so innocent after all,”

“Why?” I asked as I backed up and into James, I turned to find him looking just as confused as me. I turned back around as I felt all the beady eyes on my back. Every where I looked I saw a pair of eyes looking back at me. I kept backing up as far as I could trying to get out of there but frozen by fear.

Who would do such a thing?

A/n: DUH DUH DUH! I know I have been awful with these cliffe's here lately but I just had too. Next chapter is FULL of drama and really it's something else, tears at your heart strings... or at lease mine (which are easily torn, but that is beside the point)

REVIEWS!! What was your favorite part? Do you love James? Do you hate Matt? Who do you think put up the banner? What do you want to happen next? ANYTHING, just feedback please =].
