Author's Note: Hey you guys, so I'm very excited and I'll tell you why. My agent phoned me a few days ago saying she wanted to suggest me to this casting director for a movie, and I got it. I'm an extra in a movie called "Percy Jackson" with Logan Lerman (HOT!), Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan. So I'm very excited for that on Monday. I also got a part in the musical "Titanic". I'm the bellboy, which was originally played by a girl and it's apparently really fun to play. So I'm excited for that as well. I actually have a lot of stuff coming out, because along with those I have Showcase, and a singing competition. So it should be fun. Anyways, to clear something up, Adelaide, or Addie, cannot read minds, she can just see things people are hiding. Like Remus hides the fact that he's a werewolf so she saw that right away. Just to let you know. So after this chapter...you're probably just going to be even more confused, sorry :). Also, my homepage is back up and totally up to date, so make sure you check that out! Anyways, read on my readers and don't forget to leave a review!
"Sirius has just asked me to be his date for the Graduation Ball," Marlene said, sighing again, smiling blissfully. We both laughed, knowing how much Marlene fancied Sirius.
"Congrats," Lily said, giving Marley a hug.
"I'm so excited! I even have my dress already!" Marlene said.
"Since when?" Lily asked.
"Spring Break. That's why I couldn't come to the wedding. You see, my parents arranged for this stylist to come over and work on my dress according to how I wanted it to look like. So I had to be there," Marley explained.
"That's really cool, I can just imagine how great you are going to look," Lily said.
We had gotten back from California about a week ago and we were now loaded with worries of our NEWTs, graduation, and of course, the musical. It was pure panic mode for everyone, and the occasional seventh or fifth year would pass out or have a panic attack during class and have to be taken to the Hospital Wing.
Everyone else knew what they were going to be doing after Hogwarts job-wise, but I had absolutely no clue. I didn't even know about any jobs except for Healer and Auror. But I don't think either of those would be good matches with me. I didn't like the sight of nasty cuts and such, as we all know, and I probably wasn't the best fighter.
"So Elle, you want to come with me?" A voice said and I snapped out of my thoughts. I turned to see Rebecca standing there, looking very impatient.
"Sorry, what did you say?" I asked, not even realizing she had come over here from her table.
"I asked if you wanted to come shopping with me so we could get our graduation dresses, seeing as how these two have already gotten theirs," Rebecca said, smiling at me.
Rebecca had found this store in Hogsmeade tucked into an alleyway and all they sold was formal stuff. Dress robes for guys and formal gowns for girls. There were so many to choose from that I had no clue where to even start.
Rebecca had grabbed a few dresses for herself to try on, and had also grabbed a few she thought would look good on me. So here we were, trying on a bunch of different dresses on. So far, there were none that really stood out to me.
At the moment, I had on a light yellow dress and was examining my reflection in the mirror when I heard something.
"Wow, someone's really packed on the pounds."
"Rebecca!" I exclaimed, looking over at her in disbelief over what she had just said about me.
"What?" She asked, looking at me as if I was insane.
"Why would you say that?" I asked, feeling very self-conscious in this dress now.
"I didn't say anything, Elle," She said, looking at me in a genuinely concerned way.
"I thought I heard...never mind," I muttered, changing out of the dress I was currently in, and into another one. We both tried on a few more dresses before we both found the perfect ones and paid.
Since then, I had been over-obsessing about the voice I had heard. I swear someone had said it, and I still would occasionally hear the voice, but only when I was near a mirror or some sort of reflective surface. So that had to be it, right?
But I still didn't know what it was. I had asked Remus about talking mirrors, but he said they didn't exist, at least not yet. He said he had heard of someone who was trying to invent them, but hadn't succeeded yet.
"URGH!" I screamed in frustration as I walked into the third floor girl's washroom, looking directly into the mirror. "Okay mirror, what is going on? You can obviously talk, so talk."
"See, I thought it would take you a lot less time to figure it out," A voice said and I whirled around, trying to find the course of the voice. "Look at the mirror."
I turned around slowly to look in the mirror to see my exact reflection, except that they were looking at their nails in a bored fashion.
"What is going on?" I asked myself quietly. "I must be going crazy."
"Fortunately, you're not, but if people heard you talking to your 'reflection' they'd think you were," The reflection said, an amused look on her face. That's when I noticed the only difference between me and my reflection, other than the fact that it was moving on its own. It had brown eyes.
"You're Anastasia," I said quietly.
"No, really?" The girl questioned sarcastically. "See, they were right when they called me the smart twin, it took you ages to figure that one out."
"B-but how did you get in the mirror?" I asked frantically. This was my sister. I was finally meeting her, but she was in a mirror.
"Wouldn't I love to know," She said, hitting the mirror from the other side, as if proving a point. "But alas, I don't."
"But you're dead, aren't you?" I asked, feeling very confused at the moment.
"Apparently, but I didn't want to due, you see, and something weird happened. So here I am," She said, shrugging. This was insane. My sister couldn't be trapped in a mirror, that was impossible. I needed to talk to Remus about this.
"Apparently it's not impossible, because I'm here. And I wouldn't talk to Remus about this, because on, he won't know, and two, he'll think you're crazy," Anastasia said, as if reading my mind.
"Did you just-"
"Yeah, I can do that. And you could do that too, but you just don't know how," Anastasia pointed out.
"So let me get this straight," I said. "You were there when Rebecca and I were trying on dresses?"
"And in Potions?"
"Look, Ellie, I was there every time something was said but nobody said it," She said, looking a bit frustrated with me. Ellie. That's what she called me in the vision.
"This is too much right now," I said, walking out of the bathroom, and feeling like collapsing onto a wall or jumping out a window when Remus came walking up.
"Hey sweetie, you feeling alright?" Remus asked and I just shrugged. "You know you can talk to me about anything."
"I know," I said. "But this is something I think I should deal with by myself."
"As long as you know I'm there for you whenever you need me," Remus told me and I nodded as I stood up, and walked off with him hand in hand, trying to rid my thoughts of what I had just found out.
"Okay seventh years, are you ready to do this?" Professor Maestro asked for a chorus' of "yes" to be years. "When you are about to do a musical, we sing instead of talk. So are you all ready to do this?"
"Yes," We all sang before laughing. Remus looked frustrated backstage as I sat down beside him. Professor Maestro was on stage introducing everything, and knowing him, it would take quite a long time.
"Remmy, what's wrong?" I asked as I held onto one of his hands.
"It's really not a big deal, but I just remembered something that's not going to happen," Remus said, looking off into the distance.
"And that would be...?" I asked.
"Well, at the end of the play, you and Sirius...you know," He said. He was talking about the kiss at the end. I didn't want to kiss Sirius. I mean, yeah, Sirius was gorgeous, but I was hopelessly in love with Remus.
"It's just a stage kiss," I told him. "I was talking to Lily about this because I was worried about it as well. Technically, it's Hermia and Lysander kissing, not Sirius and me. And besides, it means nothing unlike this." I cupped his face in my hands and kissed him passionately, as he eagerly kissed back. "Okay?"
"Yeah," Remus breathed, looking a lot happier.
A few minutes later, William Edwards who played Egeus, Frank who played Theseus, Alice who played Hippolyta, Sirius who played Lysander, Remus who played Demetrius and me, who was playing Hermia were all onstage acting out Act I, Scene 1.
Sirius and I were standing at the side, holding onto each other like someone was going to take the other away.
"So will I grow, so live, so die, my lord,
Ere I will my virgin patent up
Unto his lordship whose unwished yoke
My soul consents not to give sovereignty," I said looking at Sirius as if I was in love with him.
"Take time to pause; and, by the nest new moon--
The sealing-day betwixt my love and me,
For everlasting bond of fellowship--
Upon that day either prepare to die
For disobedience to your father's will,
Or else to wed Demetrius, as he would;
Or on Diana's altar to protest
For aye austerity and single life," Frank said.
"Relent, sweet Hermia: and, Lysander, yield
Thy crazed title to my certain right," Remus said, taking my hand in his, but I quickly pulled away, acting disgusted, when really it made my whole body tingle happily, and taking shelter in Sirius' arms.
"You have her father's love, Demetrius;
Let me have Hermia's: do you marry him," Sirius barked, smirking slightly.
"Scornful Lysander! true, he hath my love,
And what is mine my love shall render him.
And she is mine, and all my right of her
I do estate unto Demetrius," William said, glaring at Sirius.
The play continued on with a few musical numbers that were cued on a certain line. It was really fun, and the audience was glued to every line. I swear I saw a few people crying in Act II when Hermia what woken up and couldn't find anyone.
It was the very end of the last act and the music was starting for the very last music number. Sirius and I were behind the curtains at the back of the stage while Lily and James, and Marlene and Remus were onstage, "unaware of the presence of the fairies. When they got to the chorus of the song, which was all about love and how it's so unexpected, everyone joined in, including Sirius and me from backstage. As soon as the chorus ended and the next verse was starting, Sirius and I came out, holding hands and began singing.
The song ended and there was a moment of silence which seemed to go in slow motion. My arms wrapped around Sirius' neck and his went around my waist as our faces drew nearer and nearer. Professor Maestro hadn't made us practice this part because he wanted us to "save the magic for the performance." Our lips met for about five seconds before the lights went down and we separated. Everyone quickly ran offstage before the light came back up. The background music to the last song came on and the "actors" as they were called in the script went out and bowed, followed by the fairies. Frank and Alice went out and bowed before James and Lily, and then finally, as one large group, Marlene, Sirius, Remus and I all went out and bowed for flowers to be thrown on stage, and to receive a standing ovation.
A few minute later, everyone was out of costume, with just their hair and make-up the same as when we did our bows. A man wearing a formal suit and a pair of sunglasses indoors approached me.
"You're the girl who played Hermia, right?" He asked and I nodded. "You were fantastic. You know, I'm the director of a large music company, and on behalf of everyone there, I'd like to invite you to sign with us."
"I'm not sure I know what you mean," I said.
"Oh, sorry. We would like you to become a singer and an actor with our company," He said and I raised my eyebrows. Me? I didn't think I was that good. "Look, you don't have to decide right now, but think about it and give me a call, alright?"
I nodded as he handed me a card before walking away. I saw Remus talking to an older man, and he waved me over. I walked over to where he was standing and Remus handed me a bouquet of flowers before kissing me on the cheek.
"Dad, this is my girlfriend, Elle," Remus said, beaming as the older mean extended his hand to me.
"Nice to finally meet you Elle, I've heard a lot about you," He said for me to blush. "No, no, no, it's all good. Remus hasn't stopped talking about how beautiful you are, or how cute you are, or how much he likes you since he first met you." I guess it was Remus' turn to blush because he was turning a bright crimson.
"Thanks Dad," Remus muttered sarcastically, his cheeks fire engine red.
"Hey, I'm just keeping it real. She's obviously someone really special person if she knows about your 'furry little problem' as your friends call it, and still loves you," Mr. Lupin said, causing me to grin.
"Nothing would ever change how I feel about your son Mr. Lupin," I said earnestly.
Next time on "Remember"
"Please, just leave me alone. You're complicating everything."
"I need to show you something, and it's important," Another voice said.
"Fine, but be quick about it because Remus is waiting for me," Elle said. At least, I hoped it was Elle. Both voices sounded so incredibly similiar, but there was just a slight difference in the tone. It went dead quiet for at least five minutes before I heard crying.
"Elle, are you okay?" I asked, knocking at the door.
"Yeah, I'll be out in a few minutes," She said, and after a minute, the door opened. She came out and her cheeks were just slightly tear-stained and her eyes were a bit puffy and red.
