Thanks go out to tgfoy for taking the time out to BETA this chapter for me.
Chapter 2: It’s all animal magnetism
She had set up an awe-inspiring spot on the beach, from where she could just sit and watch the breathtaking sunset, while still enjoying the experience the warm water of the very edge of the surf affectionately playing with her toes. The sensation was almost sensual, if a lover was giving that feeling, she would be his for life, she thought.
Getting up from her happy place, she began walking back up toward where her parents were sat near the cliff. It was then that Hermione noticed that the warm, wet feeling on her feet wasn't going away. The dry patch of sand where she stood had no feeling to her, she still could only feel the wonderfully warm, wet sensual foam of the surf and she began to panic.
It was then that she woke up, her skin flushed from the effects of the dream.
That feeling on her toes was still there, it hadn't stopped upon her waking.
Reaching across herself she gripped onto the edge of the duvet and, on the count of three, Hermione whipped the cover off from herself onto the floor in one fluid motion. Revealing Sadie, at the bottom of the bed, with a paw on either side of her feet, licking them like some strange tasty delicacy.
This isn't happening to me. Hermione thought.
“Gerroff me Sadie!” She shouted at the blasted dog.
Hermione pushed Sadie off the bed with her feet and got out of bed herself, stomping her way to the door. She reached for the handle, taking notice that the door was closed, and pulled it open.
“Out! I don't know how you got in here in the first place, but I'll tell you one thing, it won't happen again.” She shouted.
Her parents, and Grandfathers doors opened, their heads peaking curiously down the hall towards her. Sadie slunk out of Hermione’s room, head bowed down and with her tail tucked between her legs, she made her way back to her rightful room. Hermione slammed her door shut and went back to bed.

Earlier that morning while the house was asleep…
Sadie awoke at the foot of her masters’ bed. She couldn't get back to sleep, she soon found herself bored to tears and in need of making some mischief. With that notion in her head, she got out of bed thinking she might occupy herself with a little prank on the witch. Just a little payback for knocking her out this afternoon, she would do nothing too terrible.
Opening each door was the easy part of her endeavor, just a little upwards snout action and she was in business. Sadie loved doors that didn't use knobs, but elegant looking brass handles instead. It made using them ever so much easier, if you were a dog.
Once she was in the witches’ room, Sadie thought it a good idea to close the door behind her, for a little extra drama. Next, she dropped down to the floor and belly crawled her way to the foot of Hermione’s bed. Her thought now was to get herself under those covers, fall asleep and shock the girl in the morning. While lying in wait, she came up with a better plan…

At breakfast I complained about Sadie’s early morning antics to all whom would listen, which wasn't many. My Father kept his nose inside the morning paper, which shook and the sounds of partly stifled laughter were emerging from behind the pages. Mum just sat there rolling her eyes and glaring at my father's barely concealed mirth, while my Grandfather was hobbling from room to room calling out to Sadie.
“Sadie!” He bellowed. “Sadie, where are you, you mangy little she bitch!”
“Dad, can you please get him to stop calling her that?” Hermione pleaded with her Father. “What will the neighbors think?”
It was at that moment I began to think I was hearing barking, not like the usual loud barking. No. This bark sounded more like a dogs cry for help, a sort of squeal like new brakes on a car stopping quickly in the distance. You recall that sound?
Then it changed becoming more like a lonesome wolf howling in the distance. How-OO00ooo…
I got up from my chair and slowly turned on the spot, trying to place where the sound was coming from.
“Do you hear that?” I asked them.
“Hear what dear?” My Father asked, though not really paying attention.
Mum’s head turned a one eighty, fast. “I hear it too, I think it’s coming from the kitchen.”
We all made our way over to the kitchen door to check out what was wrong with Sadie.
I slowly opened the door and looked in, I cracked up laughing from what I saw there. Puzzled, my family poked their heads in around me and they fell about laughing themselves. The sight that greeted us was of Sadie, attached by the belly to the steel of the icebox. Her legs were moving all over the place just trying to get a grip. The poor dog reminded me of the giant squid, only out of water!
My Mum is a great collector of refrigerator magnets you see, not a surface on our icebox was devoid of the cute tasty little things and I believe Sadie just might have eaten them all.
“Okay Grandfather, scrape Sadie off the fridge so we can get her to a vet.”
What can I say? The dog is a menace, but even I have to admit, that morning she had a certain attraction.
