Disclaimer: I ALREADY know that I don't own Harry Potter
I watched her face. There wasn’t much to watch, but it helped keep me calm. I was angry. Angry at stupid Lincoln Parkinson, at my mother. What had they done to Rose?
The Hospital Wing door opened, and Rose’s parents ran in. Her mother was sobbing, and her father’s face was completely blank. They had gone through so much while Rose was missing, and now this. It didn’t seem fair at all.
“What happened?” Mr Weasley asked me.
“We - we were j-just sitting in the Common Room and she collapsed,” I stuttered, trying not to let my anger show through in my voice.
Or the fact that I would start crying any moment.
What I said made Mrs Weasley burst into a new bout of tears. Mr Weasley put his arm around her, as Madam Pomfrey (who was ages old - how long had she worked here, already?), came to do some tests on Rose.
It wasn’t a very nice sight. It was lucky Rose wasn’t awake to feel all the blood tests, and all the other tests Madam Pomfrey was doing. She went away, and I looked over at Mr Weasley, who was staring down at his daughter’s body.
“Harry’s gone to question Parkinson about what he did to Rose,” he said, a quiver in his voice, “But we all know the likelihood of him saying anything.” Mrs Weasley gave a loud sniff, and I gazed down at Rose.
Al had helped me bring her up, but then left again. I had been sitting here since the moment we had brought her in. Thinking about what could possibly be wrong with her.
It was obvious that it was Parkinson who had done it, while Rose was unconscious when she was first there. He had cursed her, or something. It was hard to tell.
I thought perhaps my mother would know. She probably would, but it wasn’t like she was going to tell us.
I stood up angrily and started pacing. I could feel Mr Weasley’s eyes on me, watching me. I turned to look at him. It was important to find out what was wrong with her, to fix her. What if it was fatal? What if she was going to die? What would her family do? What would I do?
I sat back down after awhile. We sat there for ages before Mr Potter came in with Mrs Potter. Mrs Potter looked absolutely freaked out, and Mr Potter shook his head at Mr Weasley. Parkinson didn’t say a thing. Of course not. Were we really expecting him to?
I told them what happened, and then decided that I should leave, give the family some time with Rose. Mr Weasley followed me out.
“Scorpius, I want to thank you for helping her get home, and for bringing her up here immediately,” he said quietly. I nodded, and glanced back in the Hospital Wing where Mrs Weasley was still crying.
“I can’t imagine how you’re feeling. Everything is so sudden,” I whispered. Mr Weasley followed my gaze, and closed his eyes.
“My wife…she’s the worst. That’s our daughter, our little girl. It doesn’t seem fair that she has to suffer because some stupid idiot who wasn’t even a Death Eater wants revenge on Harry,” he said. I shook my head.
“It isn’t fair at all, Mr Weasley. I’m sorry for my mothers part in all this,” I muttered. Mr Weasley shook his head.
“It’s not your fault, nor is it your fathers. Speaking of which, you need to contact him, to see if he can help us get what’s wrong with Rose out of your mother,” Mr Weasley said. I nodded, though I knew that my mother wouldn’t say anything. Especially to the man who was about to divorce her.
“I will do that right away, Mr Weasley,” I said, and I went off to send my father an owl.
In the Gryffindor Common Room, everyone asked me what had happened to Rose. I didn’t say anything, and Al shepherded them away. Except Lily, Hugo, and all the rest of her cousins. I stood up, and looked at them all.
“I need to send a letter. She’s in the Hospital Wing. Her parents and your parents are there,” I aid, pointing at Al. Al and Lily glanced at each other, and Al pulled Lily with him towards the Hospital Wing. Hugo ran after them. I was left with the other Weasley cousins following me to the Owlery. They followed me back to the Gryffindor Common Room. Finally I got fed up, and turned to look at them angrily.
“Look! I do NOT know what’s wrong with her! You saw her collapse! That’s all anyway knows at this point, now leave me the fucking hell alone!” I yelled. The smallest one squeaked. The other Weasley girl that was in my year crossed her arms.
“Look, Malfoy, this is our cousin you’re talking about. I don’t care if she’s the fucking love of your stupid life, you do not yell at us for wanting to know what’s wrong with our cousin!” she screeched. I looked at her carefully.
“Roxanne, right? Why don’t you go up to the effing Hospital Wing, and see her, and stop bothering me!” I snapped, and I stalked off.
I knew I shouldn’t have reacted like that, but they had all pissed me off. It was obvious that they could see her at the Hospital Wing. They didn’t have to follow me around.
What did it matter anyway? We had no idea what was wrong with Rose, how bad it was, and whether it was fatal.
I hoped it wasn’t fatal.
