They were a bizarre couple. Many would call them a peculiar couple, a strange couple. Anyone who knew them would call them a weird couple. But everyone could agree that beyond being bizarre, peculiar, strange and weird, they were perfect. Everyone called them the perfectly bizarre.
Before they were the perfectly bizarre, they were just friends. Not even the greatest friends at that. They just sort of knew each other. They met when he was a fifth year at Hogwarts, she a fourth year. He started off not liking her. He thought she was too strange for him. When they met he was perfectly happy with a crush on someone else. Someone he knew for a good four years, almost five.
He didn’t know at first, but he loved this girl. She was perfect for him. She understood how he felt, and she was able to make him happy when he was sad. She understood how his mind worked, how he thought.
He could never understand how she understood him so well. All he knew was he loved her for every reason someone could love. She was funny, nice, caring, smart, and beautiful, but most of all, she loved him. And as soon as he realized he loved her, he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
Today was the day he was going to ask her to marry him. They had been together for almost five years now, and he was going to propose to her today. He was nervous as hell but he had his friends there to support him. They have always been there for him, and he was glad they were.
All of his friends have gotten married already. Hermione had married Victor Krum the year after they got out of school, and now Hermione is seven months pregnant with their first child. Harry proposed to Ginny the year after that.
Harry had been helping Ron with his proposal speech for a few months now. He knew that today was the day to finally do it. He was very nervous, but knew that as soon as he did it, he would be the happiest man alive.
She wasn’t very picky on anything, but she had voiced that she would love to be proposed to on Christmas day, with all of her friends around. He knew that if he did this she would be happy. She would know that he pays attention to her wants and needs. He wanted her to be happy. He wanted her to know that he cared for her very deeply, and this was how he was going to show her.
He walked into the living room where the Christmas tree was decorated in red, gold, blue, and silver. He and his friends have been making sure that each year they decorated the tree in not just Gryffindor colors, but with Ravenclaw colors as well.
Hermione was sitting on the couch, and smiled when she was him. He smiled back and turned to walk into the kitchen, Ginny, Harry, and Victor were deep in a conversation about the next Quidditch Cup.
There was a knock at the door and everyone fell silent. All eyes turned to him as his heart began to race. She was here. He went to the door, took a deep breath and opened it.
“Happy Christmas Ron,” she was gorgeous, half of her blonde hair was pulled back loosely, while the rest was falling in soft curls down her back.
“Happy Christmas Luna,” he leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips.
“Happy Christmas Luna,” Hermione said as she came up and hugged her, “come on in, we been waiting to open presents till you got here.”
“You didn’t have to do that,” Luna said as she walked.
Ron closed the door behind her and let Hermione walk her into the living room. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny velvet box. He took a deep breath and entered the living room, holding the box tightly in his hand so the she wouldn’t see it.
Luna was sitting on the couch with Hermione and Ginny. Ron sat on the coffee table in front of Luna. He leaned in and kissed her.
“Yes Ron?” she always had a way of knowing that something was on his mind, and today was so exception.
“Luna, I have loved you for a long time,” Ron told her, “for as long as I have known you, and although it took me a while to realize that what I felt for you is love, I have never wanted it to be any other way.”
Ron took a deep breath and looked deeply into Luna’s eyes, “I have never felt this way for anyone else. Being with you has made me the happiest I have ever felt. I never want to stop loving you, and I never want to be without you. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. And nothing can change how I feel about you, and nothing can change how much I want to be with you.”
He lifted the box and opened it, revealing a small diamond ring, “Luna Adela Lovegood, will you marry me?”
She smiled and leaned forward kissing him gently, “Yes Ron, I would love to.”
Ron pulled her into a hug and picked her up. They kissed again and he let her stand. He pulled the ring out of the box and placed it on her finger. She held her hand out to examine the ring.
“Is there something wrong?” Ron asked confused at what she was doing.
“I just wanted to make sure the ring you got was perfect,” she told him still looking at the ring.
“And?” he seemed nervous about what she was going to say next.
“I think it is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen,” she said smiling at him.
Ron smiled, holding her right hand. He pulled her hand up and kissed the back of her hand softly.
“I love you Ron,” she said kissing him again.
“I love you too,” he said, “and I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
AN: Sorry this is a short one shot, but it was just something I thought of randomly. Let me know what you think of it.
