Author's Note: Hey everyone! So, because of the server going down, I wasn't able to get onto my account for like two weeks, but I am again. But I don't have trusted author status anymore so you'll have to deal with each chapter one at a time. Also, I would really appreciate it if you would review on every chapter of both of my stories, because all of them were lost up until May, so if you would, I will dedicate the next chapter of either stories to you. And trust me, you'll like those chapters. So anyways, review on all and you get a chapter dedicated to you. Simple as that. This chapter is dedicated to EmilieJGrant (formerly Britney Black before the sever went down) for giving me the inspiration for this story, and helping me when I was falling off of my seat laughing from the hilarity of it. Enjoy!
"Elle! Come quick! McGonagall's posting the parts for the musical!" Lily said excitedly, and before I could even respond to what she had said, she was dragging me to the Entrance Hall where a bunch of people were gathered.
Lily pushed to the front of the crowd, bringing me along with her and gasped before pointing, poking at the sheet of parchment repeatedly until I pointed my attention to it. It read:
Eleanor Leah Bella Abigail Merceaux Knightley - Hermia
"Hermia? Who's that?" I asked Lily who was reading the rest of the list.
"Hermia's only one of the lead parts!" Lily exclaimed happily.
"But who is Hermia?" I asked, feeling very confused.
"She's a character from Shakespeare's play, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'," Lily answered. "You'll see when we get our scripts."
"Well, who are you playing?" I asked, looking at the list and finding her name.
Lily Marie Evans - Titania
"She's the queen of the fairies," She answered as we started walking into the Great Hall for breakfast.
"So what else can you tell me about this Hermia character?" I asked curiously as we sat down with the rest of the Marauders and Marlene, Lily being greeted with a peck on the cheek from James.
"Well, Hermia is short for one thing. There are quite a few short jokes about her in the play. She also has dark hair and is in love with Lysander who loves her back, but after Puck the fairy casts a spell, Lysander and Demetrius are both in love with Helena before they all fall in love with the right people again," Lily answered.
"Well, who plays all of those people?" I asked.
"I play Helena, so we're friends and enemies in it, Remus plays Demetrius, Sirius plays Lysander and Puck is played by..." Marlene didn't finish what she was going to say because she burst out laughing, holding onto her stomach before falling off the bench, cackling manically.
"Marlene, stop it," Lily said sternly. "Puck is played by Severus Snape." At this point, all the Marauders burst out laughing as well, joining Marlene on the ground.
"Who's Severus Snape?" I asked Lily, who seemed to be the only one not laughing, other than myself of course.
"He's a guy from Slytherin. The Marauders constantly pick on him, but no so much when you're around. I used to be friends with him..." Lily trailed off, looking over at the Slytherin table. She was looking at a boy with greasy black hair that hung in his face, black eyes and pasty skin. He looked kind of scary to be brutally honest.
"He doesn't look like the kind of person to audition for this sort of thing," I noted.
"He probably didn't. Most of the Slytherins didn't audition, but after the auditions, Professor Maestro found that he needed more people so he gave parts to all of the seventh years," Lily said, still watching Snape.
"Well, what part did you get Peter?" I asked the small boy after they had all stopped laughing.
"I'm Bottom," He answered and that threw the Marauders and Marlene into another laughing fit, while Lily turned slightly green at the thought.
"Let's go to class, Elle," Lily said suddenly, taking hold of my arm and leading me out of the Great Hall as I tried to finish my bagel. As we were about to walk out of the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall stopped us.
"All seventh years are to stay in here until a specific announcement is made," She stated and we nodded to show we understood before going back to where we were sitting previously.
"What did McGonagall say to you guys over there?" Sirius asked curiously.
That seventh years have to stay here until a specific announcement is made," Lily answered just as Dumbledore told everyone except for the seventh years to head to their classes. There was a loud scraping of benches and a stampeded of footsteps before it was completely silent except for Dumbledore's voice once he started addressing the whole group.
"Due to recent events, we have added a new class that will go on for a week, although could be considered more of a project as you will not go to a classroom or anything. One of our students was assaulted, and almost sexually assaulted which is something that I consider horrendous and I don't want it to happen to anyone at this school ever again. The student who committed this crime is no longer with us at Hogwarts, but I feel this class or project will be necessary."
"What is this class?" James called out to receive a reprimanding look from Lily.
"Good question, Mr. Potter. This class is called 'Sex Education' or 'Family Studies'," Dumbledore announced for a few people to giggle nervously. "You will all receive a workbook that must be completed for a grade as well as completing the project. Now, for this project you will be split into partners. From there, you will receive a workbook and a child and look after that child for the week. You'll all be in special dormitories that you will share with your partner and your child to make it more realistic. You must take care of this child; feed it, bathe it and play with it, everything a normal child would require. And do now worry; they are not real children. They are simply dolls with a spells on them.
"Once you get into your groups, discuss what gender you would like for your child and what you would like to name it. When you get your child, you will get your booklet as well as a slip of paper that says where to find your dorm and what the password is. All the rules and instructions will be in the workbook," McGonagall said. "Now, to sort you into partners. Longbottom and Little, Evans and Potter, McKinnon and Black, Pettigrew and Powell, Lupin and Knightley..."
"Guess we're partners," Remus said as McGonagall finished listing off the rest of the names and I nodded to show I heard him. He picked up all his books and such to come over and sit beside me. "So what do you want, a boy or a girl?"
"You choose, and I'll pick a name," I answered, looking into his amber, almost golden eyes.
"Okay, a girl," He answered, without thinking much on the topic. I took a little while to think of a name...hmm...and then I got one.
"How about Abigail? We could call her Abbie for short," I suggested.
"Where did you think of that name?" He asked, looking at me with eyes full of wonder.
"I don't know. Just kind of came to me, I guess," I shrugged, not really thinking about the matter much. "Why? Don't you like it?"
"No, I love it," He answered, grinning in a very Sirius-like matter as McGonagall came over to where we were sitting. "A girl."
"Okay," She said, taking a doll out of a box and handing it to Remus. "Now both of you put your hands on 'her' and I'll cast the spell."
We did as she told us and within seconds the doll had turned into a real child. A very confused child, but a real child nonetheless.
"How old is she?" I whispered as the child looked a bit confused as to what was going on.
"Four. Now everything you need to know is in that booklet, and Miss Knightley, if you need any help, I'm sure Remus or Lily can be of assistance," She said before leaving.
"Now, I expect all of you to get settled in your dorms for the week before going to your next class. Is everyone clear?"
There was a murmur of agreement before everyone started tending to their 'children'.
"Hi Daddy," Abigail waved madly at Remus who looked shocked for a split second before picking her up and sitting her on his lap.
"How are ya sweetie?" He asked and she gave him a big, toothless grin.
"I'm good," She said, still smiling.
"Well, do you want to go see our new room?" He asked and she nodded before jumping off of his lap. She started tugging on my hand and I had no clue what to do! I've never been near little kids before!
"Hold my hand, mommy," She instructed, clasping her little fingers around my hand before giving her other hand to Remus. Remus started leading the way through the school as I followed mindlessly.
I wasn't sure what to do. I had never really been around little kids before so this was really weird! Good thing Remus knew what to do.
We came upon a portrait of a very beautiful woman in a fancy gown, holding a fan and lightly fanning herself elegantly. Remus told her the password (Jellybeans) and walked in to find it was exactly like the Head's dormitories, except with an extra room for the child.
We walked in and Abbie automatically ran into her room and grabbed some toy before playing with them in the common room. I, on the other hand, started looking through the booklet, trying to find what I needed to know.
"So Moony, Prongs and I were thinking of going to the Room of Requirement for a little swimming trip with the kiddies. You in?" Sirius asked and I thought about it for a minute.
"Yeah, I'll have to check with Elle, but it will probably be okay," I answered just as the bell rang signalling for us to leave class. I caught up with Elle who was juggling her books and the snoozing four year old. "Here, I'll carry your books."
"Oh, thank you!" She said gratefully as I took them out of her arms so she could switch Abbie to her other arm and holding her properly.
"So Elle, Sirius wants to know if we want to go swimming with him, Marlene, Lily and James after classes end," I said and she looked at me oddly.
"It's a bit cold to be going swimming, don't you think?" She asked serenely, hoisting the sleeping Abbie up so she wouldn't fall.
"We'd be going to the Room of Requirement," I noted.
"Oh, okay then. I have to tell you now though, I can't remember how to swim, so I'll be pretty useless," She said, watching the child carefully.
"I'll teach you," I offered immediately.
"It's okay. Just make sure I don't drown, alright?" She asked.
"Wouldn't dream of it."
Elle was humming quietly to Abigail, trying to calm her down after the four-year-old had found my chocolate stash and ate a quarter of it. And trust me; I was not happy about this. We had just reached the Room of Requirement where the others were already waiting for us.
"Sorry we're late. Abbie found my chocolate stash," I said and James and Sirius both gave me sympathetic looks.
"You keep a stash of - OW! MIKEY, YOU DON'T BITE PEOPLE!" Marlene yelled at the little boy she was holding in her arms. Sirius and Marlene were having troubles getting him not to bite people. Hell, they were having trouble with each other.
"Well, maybe if you weren't always yelling-"
"Maybe if he didn't have your DNA!" Marlene screamed at Sirius as James began pacing back and forth in front of the spot before it opened to reveal a large swimming pool with life jackets, a hot tub and an assortment of pool toys.
Elle was kneeled down, helping Abbie take off her clothes to reveal the small child's bright pink bathing suit just as I took off my shirt. Abbie was sitting obediently on the ground as Elle slowly removed her clothes, letting more and more of her perfectly shaped body show with each article of clothing that was discarded. Oh god, did she know she was this attractive? I can just imagine if we were together...
"Little excited there, mate?" Sirius said from behind me.
"What?" I asked, looking at him strangely. He had a hand covering his mouth, obviously trying to hide his laughter, and was pointing down at....
"LAST ONE IN THE POOL IS A ROTTEN EGG!" I screamed before diving into the ice cold water, making a big splash to hear several shrieks of protest. Sirius was laughing hysterically on the ground and James looked as confused as ever, as did Lily and Marlene. Elle had no clue what was going on and was glaring at me for getting her wet was she tried to get Abbie to stay still so she could put on the little girl's life jacket. Apparently, I had set her off with my display of immaturity.
Get Elle out of your head! She's practically Prongs' sister! And besides, you're too dangerous and just embarrassing yourself in front of her. She doesn't fancy you! A voice in the back of my head told me.
She sure seems like she might like me...and look at her...it's hard to get that out of your head, another voice said as I watched her bend over to pick up all the clothes and put them by the door so they didn't get wet.
Sirius was still laughing hysterically so I swam to the edge of the pool and picked him up before throwing him into the water.
"LANGUAGE!" All three girls yelled at him before repeatedly telling the kids not to repeat the word he had just said.
"Don't have to go all wolfy on me because your wand came out when you saw a certain someone change," Sirius said as I dunked his head under the water as I watched Elle trying to convince Abbie to come into the water.
"Come on, it's not that bad," Elle cooed gently. "Mommy and Daddy will be right here, so nothing can happen."
The little girl looked like she was thinking about it before tentatively taking a step into the water and shrieking in delight as I splashed her lightly.
"Daddy!" She shrieked, giggling as I picked her up and spun her around. She was bobbing in the water a few minutes later, splashing everything and everyone in sight.
"You look really good in that bathing suit, Storm," I said awkwardly to Elle, who turned around when I spoke.
"Hmm? Oh, this? It's Marlene's, she's letting me borrow it," She said, smiling. "But thank you." It was a few hours later and we were getting out of the pool so we could go down to dinner because Abbie was extremely tired.
Elle had changed quickly, and was now holding a sleeping Abbie in her arms. After a few hours of Sirius' constant reminders of earlier events, I was ready to hit the sack as well. Dinner went by pretty fast and before I knew it, Elle, Abbie and I were all back in the common room. Abbie was out cold in her bedroom and Elle and I were sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace, finishing our workbooks.
"I'm going to miss it," Elle said suddenly.
"Miss what?" I asked, looking at her to see her eyes dancing wildly in the light from the fire.
"Being a mother, it was fun," She said thoughtfully. "I think I'm going to have children later in life."
"Oh really?" I loved children. They're great!
"Yeah, they're just so cute! And it's weirdly gratifying looking after someone other than yourself," She said thoughtfully, before scribbling down the last answer. "You’d make a good father."
"Do you think so?" I asked and she nodded.
"You were so great when we first started this project and you taught me so much," She said as she started to pack it all away. "By the way, what was Sirius talking about when he said you were excited?"
Oh Merlin's pants. She heard. I was going to have to kill Sirius later.
"Uh...I was just excited to be swimming, and knowing that I had the best project partner," I said smoothly, hoping she would believe it.
"Oh, okay," She said, blushing slightly while humming to herself as she stood up. "I'm going to go to sleep now."
"Goodnight Storm," I said, watching her intently.
"'Night Moony," She said, smiling at the use of our nicknames.
Next time on "Remember"
They were wearing purple, frilly dresses, had fair skin, and dark curly hair that was a bit long. They also had purple wings tattoed on their faces. The only difference between them were their eyes. One doll had purple eyes and the other had chocolate brown.
