Sami sat in the rain, hugging her robes tightly around herself as she tried to keep a close look at Sirius, who flew through the rain and slammed the Bludgers furiously towards the Slytherin players.
Yes, it was the first Quidditch game at Hogwarts - Slytherin vs Gryffindor - and it was no doubt about which team would win. Having James and Sirius on one team, the Slytherins had no chance - not even when the Gryffindor Keeper had been knocked out.
Sami had already her new plan in action; as soon as the game had started, she had rushed to the changing room, and sprayed some of her parfume on Sirius' school robes.
As Madam Hooch blew the whistle, Sami joined in the cheering for the Gryffindor team, and hurried away from the stands to find Lily. She hadn't told Lily about her plans, because she had realized after her little talk with Remus in Potions, that she would most likely not approve of her actions, and would also tell Meredith and Sirius about it - afterall, Lily was in good terms with Meredith (just because Meredith was a Prefect), and Sirius was Lily's boyfriend's best friend.
Damn them all.
"Lily!" Sami called, as she saw the red head among the crowd. "Li--"
"So what did you do this time?" Remus wanted to know, standing behind her.
"Oh Christ!" Sami said, jumping a bit. "Stop scaring me like that!"
"Sorry," he said sheepishly, and followed Sami through the crowd. "I'm just curious, what kind of show you put on this time."
"Parfume," Sami said proudly, as Remus quickly pulled her aside at the last minute when a gang of angry Slytherins came bounding through the crowd. "Thanks. Anyway, I sprayed some on his robes during the game."
"And that's your masterplan?" Remus said sarcastically. "What are you, nine?"
"What, it's a great idea!" Sami shot back, spinning around to glare at him.
"Oh, yeah, sure," Remus said, rolling his eyes. "It's not like your sister will recognize
your parfume, right? It's not like she would have noticed it during the years you've been, what, sisters!?"
For a moment, Sami was seriously going to defend her actions.
Until she realized he had a point.
"Oh, shit," she muttered, her eyes wide. "Meredith will realize it's me!"
"Exactly," Remus said, as Sami dashed towards the changing room. "Hey, where are you going?" he called after her.
"I need to save myself!"
~ * ~
Sami was mortified.
If she had ever had wild fantasies about sneaking into the boys' locker room just to see Sirius Black naked, she truly regreted it now.
As soon as she had dashed into the locker room, she heard distant voices come closer, and she had thrown herself into an abandoned locker, and held her breath, just as the Gryffindor team filed in, all of them cheering and singing.
And it really wasn't worth it. She didn't even see Sirius naked!
But instead she saw rest of the team - and she saw pretty much, too! - butt-naked.
Including James Potter.
Lily would certainly murder her if she only knew.
Sami kept glancing around the locker room - cringing every now and then as she saw someone proudly prance around half-naked - and trying to see Sirius. She couldn't let him leave before she had fixed the most-likely-to-be-the-reason-for-her-own-death.
Slowly, one by one, the Gryffindor team seemed to get their clothes back on, and leave the steamy locker room in high spirits. Sami was about to leave her hiding place, as she heard someone whistle to a tune. She gasped, and pushed herself deeper in the locker, her eyes glued on the wonderful godlike male person who passed her with only a white fluffy towel wrapped around his waist.
Sirius 'Awesomely Hot Body' Black.
You could practically see the steam emerge from his body.
He was just
that hot.
Or then it was just the fact that the shower he had just left was hot. But Sami wasn't one to care about facts like that - he was still hot.
With glazed eyes, and a goofy grin on her face, she stared as Sirius turned his back to her, and droped his towel. She let her eyes openly roam his body, and she found herself mentally drooling, and fantasizing about her with Sirius in a lot different situation than this.
She snapped out of her trance, as she realized Sirius pulled on his shirt and trousers, and grabbed his robes, throwing them around his shoulders as he prepared to leave the warm locker room, and welcome the rainy weather outside.
The panic returned, and Sami watched as Sirius left the locker room. As soon as he was out, she barrelled out, running after him. When outside, she looked around in panic, only to see Sirius walk towards Meredith, who stood and waited for him with a wide smile.
Sami threw all sense and sensibility out through the window, as she sprinted towards them, ready to literally tackle Sirius to the ground, and later blame possible mental issues, when she saw Remus.
It only took two seconds for Remus to realize that Sami was as good as dead now. He held his face cool, as he marched straight up to Sirius, and poured his Firewhiskey over his head.
"Oi!" Sirius yelled, jumping back at the very surprising gesture.
"Oops," Remus said sheepishly, grinning wildly.
"What's
your problem!?" Sirius growled, wiping his face furiously as Meredith rushed over to them.
"Naah," Remus said, and shrugged. "Just thought I would pay back for that one time you threw Butterbeer on me in fifth year, remember?"
Sami stood and gaped at Remus. She watched silently as Sirius started to shake with laughter, before shoving Remus playfully. He shook his head at Remus, before wrapping his arm around Meredith, chuckling loudly as she cringed away from him because of the strong smell.
Remus followed the couple as they walked up towards the castle, the rain slowly coming to an end, as Sami walked up to Remus in a daze, feeling more and more like a drenched rat. "Wow," she whispered, her eyes wide. "You're absolutely amazing, Remus..."
"I know," Remus sighed, shaking his head. "You owe me a Firewhiskey, though!" he accused, looking sadly down at his empty bottle.
"Deal," Sami promised at once, as she stared after the couple.
Remus grinned widely, as he chuckled quietly. "So it's a date, then!" he teased, and started to back away, as Sami made a gesture to start arguing.
But she was cut off by a pretty fuming Lily Evans.
"Samantha Fawcett!" Lily growled, looking both disgusted and angry. "Did I just see you leave the boys' locker room!?"
Oh shit.
~ * ~
Sami hugged the pillow closer to her chest, hiding half of her face behind it as she peered up at the fuming Lily. She knew Lily would be mad, but she hadn't expected the silent treatment.
"Lils, I--" she started, but Lily held up a finger to silence her.
"I cannot believe you!" Lily said finally, glaring right at Sami, who felt herself grow smaller under the glare. "Are you seriously out of your bleeding mind!?" she demanded.
Yes.
"No," Sami muttered.
"Seriously!" Lily fumed, running her fingers through her hair. "Seriously!?"
Sami flinched in her seat, and shrugged helplessly. "It's not that bad, Lils..."
Lily muttered darkly under her breath, as Sami settled with staring at the fire. James had departed nearly hours ago to his bed, bidding both of the girls good night - Lily got a long kiss, and Sami a nonchalant wave. Sami had cringed slightly as the images of James jumped in her mind once again. She could never ever face James like before, that was for sure.
The images stuck in her mind would never ever disappear.
And this made facing Lily Evans' wrath much more unbareable.
"It was totally unplanned!" she squeaked, burying her face into the pillow. "Sowwy!"
"You're like a creepy stalker or something!" Lily shouted, glaring at her.
No shit?
"That's not true," Sami said, shifting uncomfortably in her seat. "Look, I just needed to fix... something I did earlier, and if I hadn't fixed that something, I wouldn't be sitting here right now."
Lily stared at her firmly, before placing her hands on her hips, and narrowed her eyes. "Fix what, Samantha?"
Sami shrunk at Lily's tone, and muttered something into the pillow, which only caused Lily to become even more furious - if possible. She snatched the pillow from Sami, who quickly covered her face in order to hide away from Lily.
The old saying 'If I can't see you, you can't see me!' was what she was going for at the moment.
"Stop being silly!" Lily said, seeing hat Sami was trying. "I can see you, even if you can't see me. Now spit it out; what did you do that you so desperately tried to fix?"
"Erm..." Sami stammered, peeking through her fingers at Lily. "I... kind of... poured some parfume on Sirius' robes, and--"
"Why the hell would you do that, Sami!?" Lily exclaimed, her eyes wide in shock. "That's just stupid! Meredith would think he was having an affair with--" she continued, but fell silent as she heard her own words. "Oh my God, that's what you tried to do, didn't you!?"
Yes.
"No," Sami lied, and dropped her hands, and started to fiddle with the blanket next to her. "I... well, I realized Mer would recognize my parfume, and realize it was me, and murder me, and probably have my corpse burned on a bonfire in the Great Hall, and--"
"YOU THINK!?" Lily said, starting her pace again, muttering under her breath.
"What are you muttering about?" Sami demanded after a moment, pouting. "It's not like anything would have happened to
you..."
"Do you realize how stupid and just childish your actions are starting to get?" Lily said slowly, trying to make some sense into Sami's head.
"But Sirius and I belong together!" Sami exclaimed, throwing her arms in the air. "Remus helped me--"
And that was when Sami realized she had said the wrong thing.
"Remus?" Lily hollered. "Remus Lupin? Remus Lupin is in this with you? Remus Lupin is helping you in this stupid campaign of breaking up Sirius and Meredith?
REMUS LUPIN!?"
Not unless there's more than one Remus Lupin.
"Well, not exactly helping me, just... you know... saving me from possible deaths, and... such..." Sami said, rolling her eyes. "Look, don't blame him, he's innocent - as innocent as I am, really!"
"Oh!" Lily groaned, and stomped towards the portrait hole. "And you're the model student of innocence, huh!?"
"Oi!" Sami shouted, sprinting after Lily. "Where are you going, Lils?" she called, running after Lily to catch up with her. "Lily tigerrrrrr..." she went on, bouncing next to her to get her attention.
"I'm going to confront Remus Lupin, and talk some sense into him, since I
clearly can't win with you, can I? You're a lost cause, Samantha Fawcett!"
"No," Sami denied. "I'm a girl in love, Lily," she said, stopping suddenly.
Lily slowly slowed down and finally came to a stop, as she sighed and turned around to face her friend. She stared at the serious expression on Sami's face, and sighed again. "Sami, do you seriously love him - like for real - or is this just a game to make your dear sister's life miserable?"
Sami stared intently back at Lily, and nodded once. "Of course I love him, Lily. He's... he's the only one I can see myself happy with."
"And you're sure of it?" Lily said quietly, her face softening a bit.
"Of course I am," Sami said immediatly, and watched as Lily slowly walked back to her, wrapping her arm gently around Sami's shoulders, and leading her back towards the Head's Dorm.
"Okay," Lily finally said, as they re-entered the Head's Dorm. "I won't start accusing Remus - yet. Just promise me something, okay?"
"Anything," Sami said without giving it a second thought.
"Don't do anything stupid anymore, Sami," Lily said, smiling a bit. "Just... just stay cool. If Sirius and you are meant to be, then it will happen without any of your silly little plans."
"Yeah," Sami said, and sat down on the sofa with Lily. "Want to play Wizard chess?"
Lily nodded, and started to prepare the chess board, unaware of the several plots Sami was already plotting in her dangerously evil mind.
