Daily Prophet Mistress of Magic Murdered
Bernadine Cromwell, Mistress of Magic, 41, was found mauled to death near her vacationing home in Greece on August 31st. It is thought to be said that Mrs. Cromwell was murdered by a Chimaera after accidently picking up the Chimaera's egg, thinking it was an exquisite rock.
Mrs. Cromwell was found later that evening by her husband, Robert Cromwell, 43, who will take Mrs. Cromwell's place as Minister of Magic shortly after the funeral.
When questioned on how she felt about her mother's sudden death, Kalantha, Cromwell, 12, reportedly hit the interviewer and angrily shouted obscenities.
It's very clear that the youngest Cromwell is very disturbed about her mother's death. Kalantha will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for her second year of education on September 1st.
Bernadine Cromwell's will will be released next month and her wake will be held at her home on Saturday, September 2nd, at 3:00 pm.

"Did you hear about Kallie?"
"Yeah, her mum was killed, right?"
"By a Chimaera!"
"Yeah, I know. There must've been one near by."
"She must've pissed it off something terrible. That's really sad. Poor Kallie."
Kallie angrily thew the old Daily Prophet on the table and glared at the two girls behind her who were not whispering. Aubrey and Charlotte flushed and looked down.
Stupid Hufflepuffs.
Kallie sighed again and twirled her spoon in her oatmeal. Sighing seemed normal. Maybe if she kept doing normal things, like twirling her spoon and sighing, other things could go back to normal as well. Or so she hoped.
She looked down the Gryffindor table out of habit. She ignored the older students stares and searched the younger, more innocent faces, looking only for one.
Her best friend, Alex, had been avoiding her since her mother died. Kallie felt alone and miserable before but now she was angry. She couldn't find Alex.
Huffing irritatedly, she shoved the bowl of oatmeal away from her, her appetite suddenly gone. Her best friend was gone, just when she needed her the most.
Just then, Dumbledore stood up at the High Table, his electric blue eyes twinkling and flashing behind his spectacles.
"Excuse me for the interruption, but would Kalantha Cromwell please meet me in the Grand Entrance before the starting of first period?" He waited a heartbeat before bowing slightly and said, "Thank you."
Kallie groaned as everyone turned in their seats to stare at her. As if they hadn't been doing that enough any how.
Trying to ignore the stares, once again (and not succeeding), Kallie stood and shouldered her bag. Glaring at everyone who stared back at her, she stalked from the hall, with her head held high, then threw herself unceremoniously on the bottom step of the main staircase.
Not at all wanting the pity party that she was about to receive as soon as the Headmaster walked through the doors, she grumbled. This was stupid.
A few moments later, the tall billowing form of Albus Dumbledore came flitting throught the entrance. He smiled gently.
"Miss Cromwell," he greeted her. She nodded curtly.
"Professor."
"I spoke with your father yesterday," he informed her. She blinked in surprise and her heart raced. She fought to keep her expression stoic. "He was not at all impressed with your Defense Against the Dark Arts mark from last year. I, however, think they were excellent." He beamed at her. "He would like me to assign you a tutor, nevertheless." Kallie nervously played with her hair in her lap.
"Okay," she said. She wasn't sure what else she was supposed to say. "Who is it?"
"Well," Dumbledore said. He looked slightly amused; his eyes glinted. "The question is, 'Who are they?'" He gestured with his hand behind him and two seventh years stepped out of the shadows.
Lily Evans and Sirius Black.

So I'll keep this AN to a minimum (or I'll try). This has been updated as of May 10th, 2009. I'm thinking of coming back to this story, seeing as it hasn't been update in a while. So! Constructive criticism is highly encouraged, I know this story is riddled with mistakes. Thanks to everyone whose reviews thus far. :-)
