What a great opportunity to spend time staring at Sirius Black, and his wonderful lack of interest in the entire subject. He made stupid look hot.
Sami let out a sigh, and got a nudge from Lily. "What!?" Sami hissed, glancing towards the chubby Professor Slughorn quickly.
"Stop sighing like you're dreaming about yourself in a wedding dress and--" Lily muttered, but fell silent as she saw the parchment Sami was supposed to take notes on. But instead of notes, Sami had filled it with nonsense, such as 'I love Sirius Black!' or 'Mrs Sirius Black' or 'I heart Sirius Black!'. "That's kind of sad, you know..." Lily said slowly.
"Whatever," Sami said, turning her gaze towards Sirius - but he was gone. "Where did he go, where did he go!?" she whispered, looking wildly around in the class room.
"Evans, let's get going," Sirius said, standing right behind Sami.
"Oh sweet mother of Merlin!" Sami gasped, falling from her seat with a loud bang.
"You okay?" Sirius asked, as he helped her up on her feet.
Sami felt herself sway on clouds. There she was, in Sirius Black's arms, and he was talking to her. Only to her.
"I-I-I-I'm fiiiiiiiine!" she giggled, as Sirius let go of her, smiling warmly.
"Good, for a second I thought I would have to be responsible of your death!"
Sami laughed loudly, and was about to give him a flirty comment, something along the lines of 'Why, would you have cried at my funeral, and finally confessed your true feelings for me?'
... as Remus Lupin ruined it all.
"Sami, looks like we're paired up," he said.
"Huh?" Sami said, fighting against the urge to grab a hold of Sirius' arm and never let go.
"Slughorn put us in pairs, we got an assignment to do," Remus said calmly, raising his brows.
"Oh," Sami said, glancing at Sirius and quickly at Lily. "Well... I guess... yeah, fine."
Sirius waited for Lily to pick all her stuff before leading her to their table. Sami slowly fell back in her seat, deeply disappointed over the arrangement.
DIDN'T SLUGHORN SEE HOW SHE FELT FOR SIRIUS BLACK!?!?!?
"Your sister didn't pick Potions, did she?" Remus commented, dropping his bag on the floor and sitting down, as Sami leaned her chin against her palm, and settled with staring at Sirius' back.
"No, she wants to work at Gringotts, so she chose Ancient Runes instead," Sami answered, trying to look over Priscilla Vane's head to see Sirius better.
"Oh, so she's not interested in being an Auror?" Remus said, as he flipped through his notes to find the instructions for the potion they were supposed to brew.
"She hates that kind of things."
"What, she hates to make the world a better place?" Remus asked, pausing for a moment with whatever he was doing.
"No, of course not!" Sami snapped, turning to give Remus a quick glare. "She just doesn't like the idea of being foolhardy, and do stupid decisions in the moment of an impulse."
"But you do?" Remus said. Somehow, it was more of an statement than a question.
"Of course not!" Sami snapped, slamming her book shut - and revealing the parchment with all the writing on it.
"What--" Remus started, as he picked up the parchment. His eyes read the words, and Sami was frozen in her spot. His eyes slowly moved to Sami, and then with a curious glance at Sirius, who was trying to put down a fire while Lily was hitting him with her books - he started laughing.
"It's not funny!" Sami said, snatching the parchment away from Remus. "It's my feelings, my personal feelings towards the most intelligent, handsome and--"
"Excuse me," Remus said, brushing his sandy blond hair away from his face, revealing the red scar. "But isn't he dating your sister?"
"Yeah, so?" Sami challenged.
"Yeah, so," Remus said, shaking his head. "Isn't that pretty... complicated?"
"No," Sami said immediatly. "I have a plan, you see."
"What, you're going to kill your own twin sister and comfort Sirius afterwards?"
"Why yes, now when you mention it, that sounds like a better idea," Sami said with a blank face, and rolled her eyes as Remus' face fell a bit. "No, of course not, you moron!"
"Then what?" Remus asked, slightly amused.
"And why would I tell you?" Sami huffed.
"Because maybe you need someone to look through your 'amazing plan'," he said, drawing quotation marks in the air with his fingers.
"Oh yeah, and you're the first idiot I would run to!"
"Hey, I'm just saying!" Remus said, starting to chop something that resembled the look of a fat and slimey worm. Sami wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Lily doesn't exactly seem to be the person who likes your ideas that much..."
"She supports me more than anyone!" Sami lied, her face becoming more and more the colour of the Quaffle.
"Oh yes, as a Head Girl, I'm sure she's thrilled about your evil plot," he smirked.
"Fine," Sami said, taking the knife from Remus angrily. "Let's pretend that I take your offer."
"Your help, whatever," Sami said quickly, shaking her head as she slammed the worm on the desk, almost squishing it. "Let's just pretend for a minute, that I actually ask for your help," she said, glancing at Remus who nodded. "What would you suggest?"
"Well," Remus said, scratching his jaw. "He's my best friend, I don't--"
"Remus," Sami warned, her eyes narrowed.
"Well, let's pretend he's not my friend, then," he said. "It's a well-known fact that he can't stay faithful for that long, right?"
"Oh my God, it is!?" Sami asked, mortified.
"You didn't know!?" Remus hissed, looking shocked. "Merlin, where have you been? On cloud nine!?"
Sami blushed, and looked back down at the worm that squirmed in her grip. "Whatever..."
"Anyway," Remus said, sighing. "I guess you should just somehow... make your sister believe that he's cheating on her with... someone else," he said, shrugging.
"I don't--" Sami started to argue, but Remus pressed his finger firmly against her lips, and shook his head with a knowing smile.
"I know you don't exactly want to set Sirius Black up with another girl, that would be an endless circle, love," he said smoothly. "I'm just saying, that you should just... make it look like he's cheating."
"What-- You... you mean that I should... fake it?" she repeated, as Remus removed his finger.
"Yes, fake it," Remus repeated.
"How..." Sami said, as her eyes went wide. "Ohhhhh..."
Remus smiled slightly, and took the knife from her, but Sami quickly snatched it back, and cut the head off of the worm, turning to the surprised Remus with a manic look in her eyes. "Deal!"
Sami walked quickly towards the Charms classroom, dodging the students on her way. Lily had already disappeared after the eventful Potions class with James, "Head duties", they both had quickly proclaimed - but Sami knew they were snogging somewhere more private.
She ruffled her already messy hair a bit, as she entered the classroom - only to find her sister and Sirius snogging in the middle of the classroom, as the rest of the huge fanclub glared at Meredith in fury. Sami frowned, and walked slowly over to them, going through her story in her head.
"Hi," she said cheerfully, smiling widely to Meredith who pulled reluctantly away from Sirius.
"Hi, sis," she said warmly, also smiling. "What's up?" she asked, and Sami ripped her eyes away from Sirius, who turned around in his seat to look up at Sami.
"Just wondering," Sami started. "If you could borrow Venus later today?" she said, pulling on a sheepish grin.
"Venus? Why on earth do you--" Meredith started, and frowned, but soon smiled again. "Oh, so you are going to write mum and apologize?"
"Yes," Sami said, after a mental argument in her mind. "Yes, I've been a real dimwit, and I realize it now."
Sami watched as Meredith reached to squeeze her hand sisterly, Sirius hand rubbing her back in a way that made Sami very jealous and angry. "It's great, Sami! I can't wait to see you and mum talk again! It's been ages! Oh God, I'm just overwhelmed!" she said cheerfully, her dark eyes sparkling.
Sami nodded, and knew this was when she should leave them alone again. Meredith would never show any sort of annoyance on her face, she was just too kind to do so. Sami would never know what kind of curses her sister was thinking of when she had interrupted them.
In fact, Meredith would probably never know how much Sami really hated her.
Meredith would also never know that Sami had slipped a pair of her own knickers in Sirius' robe pocket, when Meredith had reached over to give Sami's hand a squeeze.
"Sami!" Lily called, running up to Sami. "Where have you been all day!? I even dashed to the Hufflepuff Common Room, and told everyone I was just checking that everything was okay," she said, shaking her head wildly. "Sami, I've never abused my power, and that was the first and last time!"
"What about when James hit Snape when he called you a Mudblood?" Sami said, tilting her head to the side. "Didn't you give only Snape detention?"
"That was different," Lily muttered, blushing deeply. "Anyway, I've been looking all over for you!"
"Oh, really?" Sami said, continuing her way towards the Hufflepuff Common Room. "I thought you wanted to spend the rest of the day alone with James."
"I never said that, we were doing our Head--"
"I know you were doing someone, Lils," Sami joked, shoving her friend playfully.
"Fine, I admit it; we did get lost into a broom closet, but that was only because James--"
"Knew it!" Sami said and skipped along, her mind filling with pictures of Sirius Black smiling with her as they both leaned in to kiss their very first kiss together as--
"SIRIUS BLACK, HOW COULD YOU!?"
"Huh?" Lily said, her brows raised at the scene in front of them.
"I trusted you, Sirius!" Meredith shrieked, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Sami and Lily stood in the Entrance Hall among the other students, watching as Meredith held up a pair of fire-red knickers, and Sirius looked more bewildered than anyone else.
"I seriously don't know whose knickers those are!" he called out, looking from the red knickers to Meredith. "Seriously, I swear! I would remember if someone gave me knickers like those!"
"Oh? So you admit you've cheated on me!?" Meredith demanded, her voice shaky.
"Meredith," Sirius said gently, taking a hold of her wrists. "You're too precious to me, love. Don't do this, you know I love you."
For a moment, the crowd held their breath. They waited for the moment, when Meredith would slap Sirius, and yell how they were over, done, finito, and then slap him again, and never ever look at him again. Never ever.
Well, that was what Sami waited for to see, but instead--
"Oh Sirius!" Meredith gasped, throwing the red knickers on the floor and flung her arms around Sirius' neck, and kissed him deeply.
The Entrance Hall filled with aww's and cheering, as Sirius picked Meredith up and kissed her back. As they broke off, they walked happily into the Great Hall, followed by the rest of the students.
Only Sami stayed, her eyes glaring at the red knickers that laid abandoned on the floor. She closed her eyes, and took deep breaths, trying to control the anger inside of her.
"Red knickers, eh?" Remus teased, appearing beside her with Sami's knickers hanging from his index finger.
"Give me those!" Sami snapped, trying to snatch them from him.
"Nope, this is too good to miss! I'll keep them as a memory!" he said, keeping them out of her reach.
"Give me those - now, Remus!" Sami demanded, looking mortified as Remus put them in his pocket and smirked.
"You'll get them when you forget I have them. See you in Divination!"
