It was gradually getting colder and colder outside to the point of white fluffy stuff falling from the sky. I'm not sure what it was, but it was really pretty. Hopefully it's not dangerous.
I walked into the Great Hall for breakfast and sat down by James, Sirius and Remus. The post was just coming and I loved watching it. Hundreds upon hundreds of owls flying into the Great Hall at once. It was absolutely amazing.
An owl landed in front of me and I looked at it oddly. It stuck out its leg, which had an envelope attached, and I took it off before the owl flew away. Who could I possibly be getting post from?
How are you? How is school going? I'm sorry I haven't written to you or James lately, but Mr. Potter and I have been very busy with work, as you can tell from the papers. Since winter holidays are coming up, we were wondering if you'd like to come stay with us. Actually, I'm not going to give you the option because you're going to come stay with us for the holidays. James will show you how to get there, so until then, have fun and stay safe.
Mum (or Bridget)
"Bridget wrote to me," I said quietly, still trying to get my head around it. No one has ever written to me before, at least, I think no one's ever written to me. It was a nice feeling.
"Yeah, me too and you're coming to stay with us!" James said excitedly, punching his fist into the air.
"Us being who?" I asked.
"My mum, dad, Sirius, Remus and me!" James said excitedly. "And all of their families are coming on Christmas except for Sirius' because they are evil."
"What does he mean your family is evil?" I asked Sirius.
"He means that they are Voldemort's biggest supporters," He said, looking slightly glum.
"Who's Voldemort?" I asked.
"You-Know-Who," Sirius answered.
"Oh...why don't people just call him Voldemort?" I asked.
"Most people are afraid to say his name," James said.
"Why would you be afraid to say a name?" I asked.
"It's just because he's so powerful and killing so many people," Sirius said. "After I'm done with school, I'm becoming an Auror and joining the Order of the Phoenix so I can help stop him."
"Hi Elle," Lily interrupted our morbid discussion as she walked to where we were sitting, with Marlene beside her.
"Hi Lily, Hi Marlene," I said waving before sneezing.
"Hey Lily, I need to ask you something," James said, standing up and walking over to where she was standing.
"James, I thought we had already settled this. I will not go out with you, we're friends and nothing more," Lily said, with a bit of a disappointed tone to her voice.
"I wasn't going to ask you out," He stated matter-of-factly.
"You weren't?" She asked, obviously not believing it.
"No, I was going to ask you, and Marlene, if you guys wanted to stay at my house for the holidays," James said, making Lily turn the same shade as her hair.
"Oh...err...I'll owl my parents later," She mumbled before going to sit down at the other end of the Gryffindor table, Marlene following behind her and laughing maniacally.
"Are you sure you have everything?" James asked.
"Yes, James. I have everything," I said before sneezing. James had been constantly "reminding" me to bring everything all day.
"Then let's go!" He said as we walked onto the train, and into one of the compartments.
"I really don't feel good," I said. All day my head had been pounding and I've been freezing cold. Now, I still had those symptoms but also had a really bad feeling in my stomach and was super tired.
I had layered up and was wearing a white tank top, a red t-shirt over top of that, a red plaid jacket, thick black pants and beige boots. I had also put on a heavy knit scarf and a Beret-style plaid hat. I still wasn't wearing very fitting clothes, but was keeping some sort of style.
"Are you sick?" Remus asked.
"I don't know what that is," I said before sneezing again.
"I don't know what that is," She said, shivering before sneezing again.
"It's getting a virus or something. You just feel generally bad," I explained.
"Well, then I think so," She said before sneezing again. "It's so cold."
"How can you be cold? You're wearing so many layers!" Lily exclaimed.
"I don't know, I think it's just because I'm sick," She said, looking like she was thinking about something. "I'm just going to sleep."
She let her eyelids droop as she lent against the window. She was curled up in a ball and she just slept while everyone else talked and did other activities like Exploding Snap and of course, reading, but that was mostly in Lily's case as well as my own.
"I'm just going to see how much time left until we arrive. You coming Marlene?" Lily asked.
"Sure," She said, getting up to follow Lily out. We're going to go get some sweets," Sirius said as James and Sirius both got up and left.
"Make sure you get me some chocolate!" I called after them.
So here I was, all alone except for Elle who was now fast asleep on my shoulder. I continued reading, mostly about flashbacks and their effects. I was trying to find out more so when Elle had her flashbacks, we'd know how to handle it.
Just as I was about to turn the page, Elle fell off my shoulder and now had her head in my lap. Amazingly enough, she was still fast asleep.
"Okay, so we got a whole bunch of candy for everyone," James said as they walked into the compartment. "Now what's going on here?"
"Elle fell off my shoulder and into my lap. Nothing more," I said as James and Sirius exchanged looks. "Don't exchange your stupid little looks! She's out cold!"
"We weren’t doing anything," Sirius said, almost a little too innocently while smiling evilly. Quite the contrast. I just rolled my eyes at them before Lily and Marlene came in. Lily just cast a weird look over at me before shaking her head.
"We're going to be there in a few minutes," She said before looking at me again. "Is Elle really still asleep?"
"Wow...she must be really sick," Marlene said. The train came to a halt and everyone stood up.
"Can you guys get our stuff? I'll bring Elle," I said. They nodded, grabbing all the trunks before leaving.
"Elle, time to wake up," I said softly, shaking her slightly. She just whimpered in her sleep, so I just sighed before scooping her into my arms and walking off the train with her. She was actually very light. Mrs. Potter was waiting there, and was looking at me very oddly. "She's sick."
"Oh, okay," She nodded before leading us to her muggle car. We all sat in the back, Elle still sleeping through everything as James put a seat belt on her. She just leaned her head against James' shoulder and lightly held onto his arm. "She's really tuckered out. Do any of you know how sick she is exactly?"
"Well, she said she was just really cold, tired, her stomach hurt and that she had a headache," James said. Wow, that's weird that he actually remembered all of that. Maybe that came with growing up with a part Healer as a mother.
"Oh, okay. When she wakes up, I'll give her some potions to help that cold clear faster," Mrs. Potter said. "And James, you'll be happy to hear this. Dad is coming home tomorrow and will be staying for the rest of the holidays."
"Are you serious?" James asked in disbelief. His father was hardly ever home anymore because of work.
"No, I am," Sirius answered, smirking as James and I smacked him in the head. That was the dumbest and most overused joke anyone has ever thought of.
"I know you are Sirius, but yes, I am as well," Mrs. Potter said, chuckling slightly.
"This is awesome," James mumbled to himself, his eyes twinkling in excitement as we pulled up to James' house. More like mansion.
"Okay," Mrs. Potter said once we were all in the house. "Boys, you already know where everything is, so you can all deal with that, but show the girls where their rooms are, as well as around the house."
"Elle still has the same room, right?" I asked and she nodded.
"Okay," I said, going up the stairs and putting Elle into her bed as the guys showed the other girls to their rooms. I placed a light kiss on her forehead before I got my stuff and put it into my room and unpacked everything. I went back out to join everyone as James and Sirius started showing them around. It was a shame Peter couldn't come, he said something about his mother wanting him home for the holidays. Now that I think of it, I actually haven't seen a lot of him lately.
Lily and Marlene seemed absolutely amazed by everything. The library (we had to practically drag Lily out), the ballroom, the exercising room, everything.
"AHH!" Someone screamed. It came from upstairs...Elle!
Ohmigod, where was I? How did I get here? I was on the train and then I'm here? How come this place looks so familiar?
The door swung open and James, Sirius, Remus, Lily, Marlene and Mrs. Potter all came in with panicked looks plastered on their faces.
"What happened?" Mrs. Potter asked.
"I didn't know where I was! One minute I'm on the train and the next I'm here and I don't know where here is!" I exclaimed, panicking as my breathing became shallow.
"Breathe Elle, breathe," Sirius said as I took a few calming breaths.
"Sweetie, Remus brought you here, our house, so you could sleep," Mrs. Potter said.
"Oh," I said, letting a sigh of relief escape my mouth. "Okay."
"Now, take these potions and go back to sleep," She said, handing me a tray of potions. I drank them all before curling back into the bed and falling asleep.
Next time on "Remember"
(Got it right this time twilight_rain08!)
"Did he ever find true love?" I asked. Where did that come from?
"Yes, I believe he did. Someone who knew of his condition but loved him unconditionally, even though he kept telling her how dangerous he was and how she deserved better. She was quite the stubborn one actually," The lady said, chuckling to herself before picking up a statue of a fairy. "It was actually this fairy."
