"Absolutely not. In no way am I sharing a dorm with that." Lily said. Stubbornly she turned her head away from James, as if it was his idea or something.
"Miss. Evans, I'm sorry if this does not meet your standards but it has always been perceived that Head Boy and Girl shared a dorm. If this arrangement does not suite you, then your welcome to go back to the Girls Dorm." Professor Dumbledore spoke quietly. His long fingertips touching as he looked over his spectacles.
"Sorry." She said softly. She could feel her cheeks reddening and her ears felt hot. Why did she have to be so stubborn. No one had ever told her that the Head's shared a dorm. She had always thought that the Head Boy and Girl were just extremely close. . .and woke up early every morning.
"I don't mind going back to the Boy's dorm, sir. If Lil- I mean Evans doesn't feel comfortable then -"James started. He caught himself from almost saying Lily
"No no. It's fine Professor. I'm sure It'll be fine." Lily said a little more sure of herself. She couldn't let Potter get the glory of his new found manners.
"Well, then if thats settled, you two can go to your new dorm. You will find it located to the right of the Fat Lady, the portrait of the Osram Ne Nsoroma. Right now the password would be cypress wood, but you can change it when you please."
Taking it as their cue to leave, Lily and James walked up the few flights of stairs to their dorm. Looking around the Fat Lady's portrait James couldn't find their new entrance.
"Um, Do you know what portrait it was?" James asked sheepishly.
"It was the Osram Ne Nsoroma." Lily said instantly, looking for it also. A silence passed.
"...You know the one of the moon and star. Represents man and woman.." Lily said.
"Oh, Right. Of course." He said, now understanding. Boys. They get less capable of thought per second. Who didn't know what that was?? Lily thought. All of a sudden the portrait squeezed in to the right of the Fat Lady. From what Lily interpreted you had to know where it was, to see it.
They slowly walked in. All of their belongings were already placed exactly where they should be. A fire was already lit and to Lily's surprise there was a miniature library. James smiled at her amusement; this was probably heaven on earth for her.

Lily Evans tried to pay attention. Being Head Girl, she had to set an example. The night before seemed to drag on which made her feel even more weary. The train ride, sorting, and the feast took ages to go on, it was nearly midnight before she got to bed.
"MR. BLACK!" Called Professor McGonagall's sharp voice, forcing Lily's eyes to open wide. "Exactly what do you and Mr. Potter think your doing?" Her foot tapping and her mouth was thin.
"Well Professor dearest," Sirius started. Immediately half of the Hufflepuff girls sat up straighter and finger combed through their hair. What bloody idiots. Lily thought and rolled her eyes. "James and I were deciding who here would get the most detentions this year. I'll probably win of course." He finished adding a wink.
"Well thats very kind of you to entertain our class Black. You can get a head start in your achievements with detention tomorrow night - 6:30." McGonagall said turning her back to him, returning to bewitch her chalkboard to make it scroll things they would accomplish this year.
Sirius silently threw his fist in the air loving that he was already winning. James shook his head smiling, and stole a sideways glance at Lily. She turned her face towards him and scowled faintly as she caught him staring.
Class was dismissed as Sirius caught James also staring at Lily.
"Still hooked mate?" Sirius said, clapping an arm on James' shoulder in sarcastic sympathy.
"As much as ever. What's wrong with me Padfoot?" He asked. It's not his fault he fancied Evans. She was intelligent, beautiful, funny, kind, and was practically the only girl in Hogwarts not fawning over James. Everything that made James even more determined to make her go out with him.
"Not sure. Maybe you need new meat. Sandra Owen is lookin' pretty nice this year." Sirius joked. James didn't hear a word he said. By the time Sirius was talking to where his friend was standing. James was tagging after Lily her Ruins in hand. That boy would never give up.

"EVANS! Hey EVANS?!"
Lily sighed. She and Abby planted their feet where they were and let James slowly catch up to them. Abby gave her a sympathetic look.
"Hey." James said a little out of breath.
"What do you want from me Potter? It's already bad enough I'm sharing a dorm with you." She asked. If he didn't hurry up she would be late to Ancient Ruins and Professor Szopa wasn't the easiest going teacher.
"You forgot your book." He said, handing it out to her. His other hand was casually ruffling the back of his disarranged jet black hair, and a goofy smile on his handsome face. Obviously her snide slipped past him un-bothered. She felt light headed. No one had ever ran after her to return her book to her. Her throat tightened slightly at his sweet deed. Woahh. Wait a sec, Lils. What are you thinking? Potter! He probably took it out of your bag just so he could give it back to you...C'mon now!
"Oh, Well. Thanks then Potter. I'll see you at 9 'o clock for patrols. Don't forget." She turned her back on his smiling face. She wouldn't let herself think of Potter. No matter how cunning he could be.
--
James was already waist deep in homework, and it was his first day back. He stretched back onto the unfamiliar couch behind him and sighed. Lily entered the dorm then, looking flustered. Maybe she would atleast notice he was doing homework.
"Potter." Lily acknowledged him and sat down in the big leather chair. Fishing out all of her books she put them onto the table with a little more force than necessary.
"Blimey, what's wrong?" He asked tentatively. She didn't get mad that often, but she had a temper, that one did.
"Well -" Lily said. She didn't want to load him with girl nonsense. Besides, when did she ever really, you know... talk to him?
"Well what. You might as well distract me from my homework." James said playfully.
"Oh. It's nothing." Lily said with a smile just to suit him. It wasn't his business that her and Abby had a riff for the first time in - never. Even if he was all ears.
She exhaled loudly, and occupied her mind with thoughts non-related to James Potter and Abigail Finley.
UPDATE SOON! I PROMISE ")
A/N: Osram Ne Nsoroma is a symbolic symbol of man and woman, it's a star and moon representing love. I thought it'd be cute to add. Hmm, Lily finds James cunning.
